The food was very good and the staff made sure our night was very special.
Birthday dinner date. Service was impeccable, food was fresh and delicious. Five star dining in a low key atmosphere.
Our experience was amazing! Our server went above and beyond!!! The rib eye was delicious I asked for a side of kous kous (even though they didn’t have that as a side on the menu) they still were able to accommodate. Beautiful place, very clean 5/5
Wonderful food great service and nice atmosphere! Good for all occasions.
Delicious food, great atmosphere! Highly recommend
Our waiter was exceptionally good. He was attentive and knew how to engage older people. Everything turned out well
Had a bad experience so wanted to try again. Fish...WAY...overcooked. Service slow despite only 3 tables seated. We had to ask for our server to come take our order. I feel bad writing this review as this is a great concept we've just not had a good experience...TWICE. I wont be going back.
We had a wonderful Father's Day brunch at Rouj Croele. Food was fantastic!! The food service was a little slow but our waitress kept the bottomless mimosas flowing and the atmosphere was superb!
Great food and great vibe!!
We started off with the eggplant crawfish appetizer and everyone loved it. The eggplant was fried to perfection.
One of us added the petite greens salad and it was anything but petite!
I had the redfish with the beurre blanc sauce and fried artichoke hearts (sorry, I forget the exact name) and it was delicious. It wasn’t my first time getting it and it won’t be the last.
The atmosphere is nice and on the casual side. Dress was anywhere from casual to business casual. Conversation was loud and has been that way each time I’ve been. It’s a nice date atmosphere but I wouldn’t call it romantic.
Awesome! Great food and service!
I love this place!! I’ve been at least 4 times now and every appetizer, meal, and drink are fantastic. Service is impeccable and the ambiance is perfect.
Amazing menu, food ALMOST lived up to it. Some things I would have done differently but I appreciate it's a new establishment. BEST BREAD PUDDING
French 75 was excellent. Appetizers of BBQ shrimp, and eggplant napoleons were excellent. Nightly specials of duck and lamb lollipops were even better. Overall it was a very good meal. The abbreviated menu is expanding with great specials. Life is slowly returning to normal. Hooray. Oh yes, the service was excellent as always. Thanks Lisa.
Our server was awesome and all the food was amazing! Will be coming back
The service and the food was excellent. Our first experience at Rouj. The Snapped dish and the fried oysters were particularly savory. My only suggestion is to figure a way to quiet the place down a few decibels. The high noise level is what killed Galatoire's here. (and some food inconsistency). But we thoroughly enjoyed our first meal at Rouj.
Overall very good experience. The food was awesome and the service was top-notch.
Love everything about this place. Great drinks, great gumbo, great entrees, served and delivered by a great wait staff. They try very hard to make your visit special.
Took kids to get reprieve from quarantine and to celebrate end of school year. All enjoyed meals and server, Justice, was outstanding.
Although we love sitting at the bar & eating appetizers, this trip we ordered from the dinner menu. The house salad was excellent & the side of cauliflower au gratin was tasty. But, unfortunately, the entrees were just okay. We will wait for the full appetizer menu to come back before returning.
Very good. Tasted like quality home cooked food!
The food was not good. My mom & I got the Pecan Crusted Fish & the coating was so thick and dark (may of been a little overcooked). My mom’s side dish of mashed potatoes was cold. My husband and son got the Chicken Fried Chicken and they were not impressed-especially with the biscuit. They actually said the biscuit was awful.
The Service was really good.
The noise level was high because we were stuck by the 2 piece jazz band. We were not able to hear anything but the he band.
excellent service, great quality and tasty food for varied interests. great drink selection for those wanting to try something new; Gnarly Barley beers on tap are super!!
The food was not nearly as good as it has been on prior visits. My wife ordered chicken marsala and it was not good. The sauce was thick with flour and not very flavorful. I ordered a snapper dish, and the small filet included the ribcage with rib and pin bones, plus the skin included a few scales. At the prices for these dishes, the execution should be vastly better.
Everything was amazing. Food, service, atmosphere. We went for hubby’s birthday on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t crowded at all. They even gave us a free dessert for his birthday.
Had dinner here for our anniversary and it was really good. Quite loud but the food was excellent.
Love my French 75’s. Great Oyster Rockefeller. Wonderful fried shrimp. Great service. What more could you ask. Try it, you will like it.
Great food, great atmosphere and wonderful for Sunday brunch!
A nice place to eat, but still has local favorites, and reasonably priced. The baked Brie is amazing!
Entertainments some out of town business associates - excellent meal and service!
The tuna crudo was a crazy tiny bit of tuna for the price.
Love the round booth for visistability - quiet
Fish special was just ok
Quail was very good
Spinach in the spinach shrimp salad was huge with very long stems that should have been snipped
His was my third time and first time disappointed
The jazz combo was to loud, otherwise everything was excellent
Service was lacking and food was ok - a little disappointed. Doubt I’ll be back.
The meal was delicious and the service was fantastic. I enjoyed everything. The entire menu sounds great. I can't wait to go back.
Great menu - wide variety with interesting options. We had difficulty deciding on what to eat, so we ended up splitting an hors d’oeuvres , salad, shells, and shrimp. Only issue is we had to wait 10 min despite having a reservation, and it was crowded at the bar. The bartenders had a hard time keeping up with service despite having 3 of them. I would still highly recommend!
We enjoyed both the raw and chargrilled oysters to start the meal. Plump and delicious! The fish beurre blanc was cooked perfectly. The paella was aromatic and a large portion; the Brussels sprouts were great. The bread pudding was perfect for two people. The Creole mule was refreshing, unique and delicious. Service was excellent and management came by to say hello. Rouj Creole is a great addition to higher end but causal atmosphere dining in Baton Rouge!
We were a group of 7 and the first couple people asked that we sit in the back because of the noise in the main dining area. I was glad they asked to be put elsewhere as even from where we were it was not quiet. We were there on a saturday afternoon and not to many people were there and the music the group was playing was very nice. Again a little loud for what few people there were. I could not imagine being there when it is crowded. I had a phone conversation (or tried to) with the receptionist the night before and it was so loud she had to go outside to hear me. Perhaps it could be toned down so we don't have to yell at each other to have a conversation. Being in the back room made it possible to visit. The food was wonderful, the service girl who waited on us was fabulous. I'd certainly come back, but not when its crowded.
It was a busy night and it came through in the overall service and food quality. Food was average quality and taste. Service was slow. At the prices charged I expected more.
The food was terrible.
