Great food, especially the shrimp and duck dishes. Nice views of downtown
Food was served in a timely fashion. Everything we ordered was done well. Service was excellent.
Table In front porch is for the birds
Amazing food and service! Everything we ate was top notch and worth the price!
This is the first time I have been to a restaurant since the pandemic started so I was pretty nervous about the enforcement of their COVID policies, but they enforced them and I felt very safe.
A bit overrated. Cute building. Thought it was more upscale. We definitely felt overdressed. You can wear a ball cap, jeans or shorts here apparently.
Seating was outside on patio, covered. Path to the patio not suitable for heels really, friends had an issue. Expected something more comfortable than the seating that was there, maybe a cushion? When the sun goes down they need candles or something on the tables, very dark!
Appetizers were good, cauliflower great!, duck was good. Drinks were ok. Entree's were just ok, had the tenderloin, flounder and filet at the table.
Overall wouldn't recommend it for a date night, maybe a casual night with friends if other places are booked.
OK, we REALLY wanted to love this place. It was our first time, and based on the reviews we took my son there to celebrate his birthday.
The hummus was good, and the fries with the New York strip were really good, too. My blackened flounder was not very good. The flavors did not really meld, and it was a pretty small portion for the money. The NY strip was gristly, not cut very well, and not very flavorful. It was tender, once you got past the gristle, but not enough edible meat to satisfy. Definitely not worth $150. The hamachi tostado was pretty good, but not great, and the crispy sesame pork ribs were really dry and tough - probably our least favorite thing we ordered. The banana pudding for dessert was OK - incredibly sweet.
There's a lot of potential here. The historic house that it occupies is beautiful, the patio is super nice and COVID friendly. They've tried to pivot from their original idea of shared plates to larger entree type meals because of COVID concerns. So, possibly they are still in the process of figuring out their identity. But, I would say they need to decide what they want to be - bar food/bistro, or seafood chophouse. Choose one and be excellent at it would be my recommendation. We may come back and try them again, just to give them another shot.
Food was great but the poor service spoiled an otherwise lovely evening.
Rosewood is in a lovely location with plenty of well designed outdoor seating. Our service was attentive and helpful but the fish my husband ordered was partially frozen/raw. They were extremely sorry and replaced it with a tenderloin steak that was outstanding. My short ribs were very good. The cocktails were good but the place is very pricey so overall the experience was mixed.
Food, service, and cocktails were all fantastic! Would love to see the return of paper menus, I’m not a fan of the scan type.
Loved it and recommend for a date night! The Ranch steak is yummy
Amazing meal. Sat outside as watched the sun go down. The outside space is perfect, the inside space is beautiful. The meal was excellent.
Dana is just the best! Amazing service. You have to have the lamb - phenomenal!! As for apps, can’t go wrong with the shrimp and port ribs. One of the best dinners I’ve had in a minute
The food was amazing! Staff super friendly and very accommodating.
Excellent from start to finish. Great recs and service.
The restaurant is beautiful. Pricey with flaky service and my food came out cold. Meh.
I have been a big fan of Rosewood for quite some time, but something changed this time compared to last visits. It was almost as if it had changed hands or was under new management. The commitment to farm to table didn't seem to be there as it was in the past. We had the cowboy steak that fed two people. Advertised as a 40 day dry aged cut, I was expecting a very tender steak, but it wasn't. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great. It was just ok which is how I described it to the waiter when he asked. It was also a bit cold. I think it was cooked too soon in comparison to the other things we ordered. My wife had the Chicken and it was awesome. I hope my experience was just an anomaly, and we will for sure go back again, as we love the character of the place, but they need to pay a bit more attention to a steak that costs $133.
Great food d, great service, outdoors, safe, great wine. Good for every and any occasion.
I wouldn't change a thing and can't wait to return!
Great service. Excellent food. Warm and inviting atmosphere!!
The food was fantastic and the setting was amazing
Rosewood is always my favorite. One of the individuals in my party had a tricky allergy and they were incredibly accommodating and communicative to ensure we had a good experience. Looking forward to the next visit!
Great food and friendly service.
We really enjoyed everything. But in the end, it was very pricey for very little steak, so that kinda was unfortunate. When we left, my wife and I thought that it was a bummer to have paid that much.
Absolutely outstanding from start to end. The 42oz 49 day dry aged akaushi rib eye was a spiritual experience! Excellent wine selection as was the service. We're committed to come each time we visit Austin! Thanks Rosewood.
Food was a let down given the price. Our server was very nice when we were honest that the steak was chewy and they kindly replaced it with a tenderloin that was much more tasty.
The alcoholic drinks were pricey and tiny. We don’t mind paying good money for higher end food and beverage but this meal left us disappointed given the cost.
Nice view of downtown but considering nothing we ate was great, we would not return.
We spent our one year wedding anniversary at Rosewood. The staff made us feel extra special! We were sat in a beautiful window corner of the restaurant. The food was incredible. We will definitely be visiting again.
Wonderful dinner . Snapper was perfectly done and fabulous. We were hurried at moment by our server ....our bottoms had barely touched the banquet when she asked for a drink order which we happily obliged, when drinks arrived , were asked for apps order after a momentary waive off to look over the menu , she was back and we made our order ....she said that usually main course was ordered at the same time ....we had been in place about 6 minutes ....so much for a relaxing evening .
Rosewood has been one of our absolute favorite spots for outdoor dining in 2020. Thoughtful, delicious cuisine, plus owners and staff who truly care about you, make it a standout in crowded Austin dining scene. Can’t wait to return!! 5 STARS!!!
Food was awesome, great atmosphere, and friendly service. Would definitely recommend!
This was our second time dining at Rosewood since the pandemic. Again, the staff really works as a team to provide the full experience. My husband had one of their craft gin cocktails and I went with my old faithful, the old fashioned; perfectly mixed and presented. We started with the best grilled cauliflower I have EVER had and the incredible Wagyu Beef Parisa. Thankfully, we always order family style because the snapper, while good was definitely overshadowed by the ridiculously flavorful perfection of the 44 Farms Tenderloin. Somehow, I made room for the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie I had dreamt of since our last visit. Such a treat!
Everything was great and we really enjoyed our server and would request him again!
SOOOOOOOOOOOO pricey for what it is. Very small portions for a very high price. Examples: $16 for 3 shrimp (app), $34 for 5 slices of beef steak (maybe 3 oz), $15 for a cocktail... The food was tasty, but I won't go back.
Excellent food, great staff. They know what they’re doing.
I always enjoy my time at Rosewood. The sunset from the patio on a warm night can't be beat.
First time at Rosewood and we had a great experience! Staff was friendly, food was amazingly delicious!
It was good, the lights were pretty bright for nighttime eating so the ambiance wasn’t very romantic. We even asked our server and she said it couldn’t go any lower. Loved the ceviche and beef tartar. Desserts I wouldn’t get again..Really didn’t like them. If you’re going somewhere for ambiance I wanted it to be this place but I just couldn’t with how bright it was.
Fish undercook... raw in some portions
Terrible oyster dish
Menu stated wagyu beef... it was NOT Wagyu!
Jeff and team always make the experience enjoyable. Great flavor, right portions, solid whiskey pours
Service and food were spot on as always. We had the ceviche tostada and cauliflower appetizers which were amazing. The mile whole chicken and Denver steak entrees were perfectly cooked and exposing with flavor. And the chocolate peanut-butter pie was a perfect way to end the night.
