We’re blown away every time we have a meal at Rosewood. Sitting at the counter is a must. Half the fun is watching Jesse and his team, but even without the meal would still be my favorite in Austin.
It was delicious! A little noisy and crowded in the room we were seated but I look forward to going again. Some of the best food on Austin.
Happy hour is only honored at the bar. Doesn’t tell you this when booking on opentable. Food was pretty good but not as good as expected. Pricey for what you get.
Was not aware of the ‘Sunday Supper’ menu with no other options. Food was good as always, but not outstanding and not necessarily what we would have chosen. We also felt the value was not the same as on prior visits. We can certainly go on other nights, but we disappointed with the Sunday night change. Great waitstaff as usual.
Went on Sunday night, drinks, food, and service were amazing. Enjoyed the old mansion setting and ambiance.
I am glad someone finally put a good restaurant in this old house. The food consists of small plates to be shared. Our group tried almost everything, and all dishes were tasty, though some better than others. Service was attentive, and the vibe good.
Great meal, sat outdoors, had our own private seating because no one else was out there. Enjoyed the tasting menu, wine pairings well-paired and for a reasonable price. We will definitely return. Service great.
Small brunch menu but all incredibly delicious. Highly recommend the beignets. The servers, hostess, and manager were also so incredibly kind and friendly!!!
Plates were beautiful and delicious. Felt the tables were very close together and room was very loud. Portions were very very small, so rated a 3 on value. Overall, a solid 4.
This was an anniversary dinner for my wife and I in Austin. The food was superb, the only reason it isn’t five stars is some of the dishes were too spicy for my wife.
We are at the chefs table which was a lot of fun. Both the chef working the wood fired grill and our waitress made the dinner a great experience. I would suggest trying this restaurant out for a nice night with your significant other.
Fantastic experience! Food was wonderful
The staff was awesome and the food was excellent. The atmosphere is unique for Austin in that it is in an old mansion that still resembles its former shell. It was crowded but we were still able to get a table. The drinks were creative but not over priced. It's in our rotation now and we will definately go back.
Ned was gracious in. Ok’ing by for each serving to tell us about it and the wine paring. We loved the experience and we will be back!
The food was excellent, but the service was even better. Megan is one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere. Plus, its two blocks from Hotel Eleven.
We are very excited to see what had been done to this lovely old Victorian, and it was lovely. The interior finishes and decor were historically accurate as well as interesting.
The quality of the food was also top nock. We had the shrimp jambalaya, grouper, with ceviche, quail small plates. the servings, however, were VERY small. Even on the dishes that we were told were main courses. there were4 little shrimp on about 2/3 cup of rice for my jambalaya. And the prices are above what other comparable restaurants charge. (I' thinking Juniper, Launderette.)
Our server's attitude was also below par. I called after making an Open Table reservation to let them know we wanted a quiet table as it was our anniversary. (I'd read they had lots of seating options, which they do.) our server never cracked a smile, and I don't recall any eye contact. When iI asked if I could have a flute for our bottle of Cremate, instead of the large red wine goblets he brought, I was told flatly, "We don't have any."
I asked it they had desserts other than what was listed on the chef's table, and was told, "it's on a separate menu. I'll bring later." I wanted to plan my meal a little lighter if there was some dessert I wanted. I had to specifically explain this. Also, there was no mention of our anniversary. I wasn't looking for a big freely, but maybe a pleasant, "Happy Anniversary!" while he poured the bubbles. The server definitely put a damper on our mood.
We'll probably be back, but maybe after prices come in line with the competition.
Delicious food, great service, fun atmosphere. I recommend sitting at the counter so you can watch the cooking! Fun!
The food was great but it took them over an hour to get the food out. I think they might have forgotten one of the dishes. they did make up for it by giving us a free dessert.
Always amazing! Favorite place to take out of town guests. They are always blown away!!!
Love Rosewood! Always delicious, great service and we love the historic home.
This place is great, the food, the ambiance and the service were all amazing!!
Please go back to your regular menu, the Sunday Night Supper is not a good value. We left on Sunday because of the Chicken Fried Steak Sunday Supper. We also saw two other people leaving because to this menu. Your other menu was outstanding. I love your restaurant and your regular menu. I go there twice a month on Sundays with my daughter but will not anymore with the Sunday Night Supper.
Excellent in every way. Looking forward to going back soon
This was our second Sunday in a row where we ate brunch. We love the creative and flavorful offerings, the service is excellent and it is such a cool house. We look forward to going for dinner soon.
A very fun and vibrant dining experience. All of the food was delicious.
We live in the neighborhood and have been to Rosewood twice prior for Dinner and Happy Hour. This was our first brunch experience, and will unfortunately be our last. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Saturday and the dining room was relatively empty. We waited 15mins between ordering drinks and receiving them. The OJ was $4 for what could only have been a 3oz portion. Noticing the long turnaround between ordering and receiving our items we asked the waitress if she could bring everything together; two entrees and the pancakes. The pancakes arrived without the two entrees, which was fine. However, our dishes were given to the table seated next to us, who ordered 20mins after us. No apology was given and we were left waiting another 20mins between the pancakes and our entree.
While the food is tasty and the ambiance pleasant, we can't bear to support Rosewood in the future given their poor service and poor value/portions.
Loved everything about it except the insanely loud bar patrons roaring over each other. Fortunately, the hostess was able to move our reservation to the chef's counter which was a total relief! Otherwise, we may have left and missed out on an excellent meal and experience.
This was our first visit to Rosewood. There were four of us. We enjoyed the food very much. There was a large party in the bar area and so the noise level was pretty high, even in the dining room. The crowd was young and hip. The food was fresh and inventive and well prepared. Things come out of the kitchen as they are ready, so don't really arrive in courses. We were tempted, but did not try, the supper menu. Instead we ordered a la carte. Small portions allow for the opportunity to try several items. The Spanish white wine I had was delicious and perfect for a hot summer night. We will go back.
Had the prixe fixe supper. Great meal except for the tres leches cake which was dry and too sweet, no leches.
We came here on a whim, never having been here, for our anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves!! The house is so beautiful and has a wonderful ambiance! We like to try a different restaurant most times when we go out to eat but Rosewood is by fast one of the best meals we've had in a long time!! The Bloody Mary wad like a little appetizer with lots of delicious pickled vegetables as a garnish. The Rosemary Mimosa was amazing and not shy on the champagne! We shared the French onion dip, fried tamatillos, and brisket sandwich. They were all seasoned incredibly well! Everything was so tasty and we can't wait to go back!! Rosewood will definitely be on our new list of regular outings!! Phenomenal restaurant!!
Every dish was special. This place is a must.
Food was underwhelming. Specially one of the dishes recommended by the waiter. It was woefully under seasoned. Probably won’t go back.
Great chef course menu!
Go to Rosewood! Order the “nightly supper” (“Let the kitchen decide menu”)! Repeat!
I brought some colleagues in recently and they all raved about the food, ambiance and awesome staff.
One of the best meals I have had in a long time!
Not only was the food amazing but the staff were equally awesome. Definitely my favorite restaurant in Austin.
Can't give this place a higher rating. Incredibly delicious, higest quality ingredients and un-pretentiously creative. Perfect spot to impress a date!
We tried the supper menu with wine pairings. The food was delicious. We sat at the counter across from the grill. It was a lovely setting and gave us a view of the care that was put into each course.
Delicious and inventive food. Great service. Wonderful ambience in a charming victorian house. Nice wine selection and solid drinks. Will absolutely hit up again and again!
Thanks to Jeb and company for making my husband’s birthday such a special one. As always, the food was superb. We particularly enjoyed the fish with green garlic, the quail, and the barbacoa. I particularly appreciate your willingness to prepare a special off-menu item because it is one of my husband’s favorites. Your attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile mean so much. Our friends, who had never visited Rosewood, were very impressed and are already looking forward to their next visit.
What a wonderful experience. We were treated so well and had one of the best meals to savor in Austin. Although the interior is lovely, sit outside if you want to best appreciate conversation and the outdoor scenery.
The price fix menus and lack of ability to get the food served outside inside is tough. I liked the menu when they first opened. Great food without the multiple courses etc. too bad.
