Rookie Eatery offers diners contemporary Australian cuisine in a casual context. A produce-driven menu centres on modern Australian food, as the kitchen serves an eclectic mix of local ingredients with multicultural influences. At Rookie, we believe that ‘Australian cuisine’ is a multicultural phenomenon that exists nowhere else in the world and so we aim to provide a contemporary interpretation with the local ingredients on offer. The result is a diverse inspiration of eastern and western cultures brought together with fragrant and fresh flavours. An on-site herb garden provides the kitchen with a range of indigenous and introduced herb species, whilst a commitment to strong supplier relationships sees the South Coast’s best produce showcased.

    Shared an outstanding tasting lunch with girlfriends. Each dish was more delicious than the previous one.. I’d go back in a heartbeat

    We received a voucher from our kids as they had eaten here and they said how amazing it was they went about 2 years ago. We had the baller menu $99 a head we were waiting for the wow factor didn’t really get that it was nice but probably would not go back

    What a fantastic dining experience! Food was amazing! Staff lovely and accommodating! Ordered Chef Selection of tasting plates “The Rookie Baller”! Amazing… couldn’t eat it all! Will be back!

    Outstanding service and exceptional food—definitely a 10 out of 10! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the flavours had multiple layers and depth. Each dish was consistently delicious and perfectly prepared, and the service was wonderful. The prices are great for the quality of food offered. I highly recommend this restaurant. It will always be our favourite spot in Wollongong!

    Had my Husbands bday lunch last Thursday, food, service & ambience were outstanding! Even had a candle in our dessert. Thanks guys

    Everything was good from service ambiance and food. We had the rookie tasting menu it was great, the only thing I would say was some of the duck was over cooked on the edges and couldn’t be eaten and the breast wasn’t rendered and didn’t get crispy skin making the skin chewy. Overall it was really good. Would definitely recommend and return
