Romano's Macaroni Grill - Colorado Springs
Book your next event with us
Entrees came out before appetizers and not at the same time. Dessert was frozen still and soup was cold. Cost $200 for 2 adults and 4 children with one shared appetizer, 5 desserts, water for drinks and two people eating soup as their entree. The manager was aware, but did not offer to comp anything with all the mixups and timing, she simply apologized and refilled our waters.
Made reservations for Christmas dinner but they ran out of Christmas dinner before we got here
Edit 1: and beer
Edit 2: and meatballs
Edit 3: we’ve been waiting for our food for almost an hour.
Edit 4: finally got the food but the chicken is tough as a shoe.
Edit 5: the lasagna is not good either.
We were disappointed having made our reservations for the Italian Christmas Dinner to find out that someone had not planned well and they were out of the dinner and just had regular offerings!
We were so grateful to find Macaroni Grill open on Christmas since we were visiting Colorado Springs for the holidays. We were so glad we had made reservations on Open Table as the crowds were surprisingly large at 4:30 pm. The staff was very busy and at times seemed a bit overwhelmed but their attitudes were upbeat and they strived to serve all the customers even though they occasionally forgot things. We were pleased with our experience and the bill was reasonable, which allowed us to tip our server well for Christmas!
Never again on a holiday… They overbooked and understaffed for this event. They took reservations however made the event chaotic with walkins… Could have been planned better.
Took an hour and a half to get our food. 10 Grub hub came in and out while we sat there.
It was just what I expected it would be and that was - Wonderful, as always. I would definitely recommend Macaroni Grill to anyone looking for a delicious, reasonably priced meal in a restaurant with great service and great ambience.
Christmas Day with family
It took over an hour to get our orders and two of the entrees were cold when served. Our waiter was very apologetic and sent the manger to talk to us. The manger did end up comping our meal. The kitchen staff was apparently all new and they couldn’t keep up with the orders.
The service was poorly done the food was under cooked and the noise level was crazy
Good space for a larger party (we had 7 adults plus a 1-yr old/high chair). Food came out relatively quickly and was good quality and portions for the prices. Good for families too.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was cold and dry. The stuffing was runny. We waited thirty minutes for the dessert before asking them to box it up to go.
The Thanksgiving meal was very delicious! A complete meal with soup/salad, entrée with choice of side vegetable, and wonderful cheesecake with pumpkin sauce for dessert! Yum...
We went for our anniversary. We weren't greeted at the door for several minutes. Then we were left alone at our table for at least 10 more minutes before acknowledged or asked if we wanted water. Most of the special menu was gone, making us wonder why you even offered it. The appetizer we asked for was also gone. We waited halfway through our meal (my husbands had early been reheated at was cold in the middle) before our first beer came and finished before she asked if we were OK or wanted another drink. There were 7 tables filled and 14 people on staff that we could see. It was baffling. I mentioned on our reservation it was our anniversary and not one person congratulated us. What was the point is asking? Not even sure why I bother with the review. Just so disappointed
Our server was awesome but the food was terrible and the amount of it we received was not much for the price.
Our order was not correct when delivered. Service was very slow. Waitress and manager were not at all concerned that we were not happy with the service and incorrect order/billing.When told we were not returning they said"Oh well". Entire staff need customer service training and what repet customers mean to a business.
Food was fair. Service left a lot to desired. Atmosphere is good.
i wish you were closer. we always went to your north location. traffic is very bad where you are. we don't go very much now.
The service was terrible. Food was not as it used to be.
They weren't that busy when we got there but nobody was at the front door. Our table wasn't set up so we had to wait for that. Our server was helping another 7 top so it took her awhile to get to us. She was very nice though. I ordered the Tomatoe Bique soup, which was really good and was served hot. I had the Mac and Cheese for dinner. It was hot but salty and really wasn't that good. The 'breadcrumb' topping was like 4 pieces of cut up bread crust. I sent it back and just got more soup. My friends ordered the Lobster Bisque soup, which was very salty a well. They were unable to eat it and sent it back. Their entrees were ok. The server was good with filling our drinks and bringing more bread when we asked for it.
We never once saw a manager the whole time we were there. We would have thought one would come by after the soup incident and for SURE after I sent my entree back, but no one ever came by.
The whole thing was just an unpleasant experience and we won't be back.
After over an hour we still didn’t get our food. The one salad we did get was very watery.
Asked for 2 different choices and they said they were out of both.
Finally talked to a manager who apologized and gave coupon.
Left hungry and frustrated
Of 6 of us, 4 had cold food. Extremely poor taste, but good and friendly service.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere 😊
Would rank at a 4.5 if available....only issue was the main course was a bit slow in arriving after we finished our salads. Kitchen did not appear to be fully staffed?
Weeds all over outside did not think it was open. Empty bottles laying around outside. Reservation was for 6:30. They only had about 10 tables full but ours was not ready for a party of eight. Service was good food was good but we were set in back room and lights on wall were constantly flickering and going bright and dim. Was giving people headaches. Overhead lights had 3 burnt out. Would not recommend or go back
Absolutely amazing! Food was great and staff very friendly!! Way better than Olive Garden. 10/10 if you want Italian food and a nice restaurant.
Party of 8, Saturday night, 6:45 PM, arrived and the restaurant was almost empty. Should have been our first clue. Service was slow, server was awkward. Food took over an hour from the time we finished our one appetizer. Had to chase the manager down. Once food finally arrived, it was pathetic and didn't all arrive at the same time. Last guest meal eventually arrived once the other 7 people were nearly done eating. Chicken parm dry and burnt black on one side; lasagna bolognese noodles crunchy dry and meat had no flavor; lobster ravioli barely luke warm. Frenetic manager bought one meal and offered "heavy" discount. Bill was still $170. Been to other Macaroni Grills and had fabulous meals. Not this place. Stay away.
Another thing, if you are going to have an exhibition kitchen know that guests are going to be watching. There was no communication between the line cooks, they worked 1 ticket at a time, and had ZERO sense of urgency about meals coming out hot, on time, or all together. Oh, and line cooks who are handling certain raw ingredients (salad greens and salad ingredients, shredded and grated cheese, garnishes, etc...) should NOT be handling these foods with their bare hands according to EVERY Department of Public Health everywhere.
Lobster ravioli with shrimp was very good. My husband had the seafood pasta, which he also enjoyed but thought a bit too creamy. Enjoyed the bread, as always!
Overall, everything was great. As far as the food, my spaghetti was very dry. I ordered it with extra marinara but it did not have extra on it. I let the waitress know, but didn't get my extra sauce until everyone at my table was halfway finished with their meals. We were also celebrating a birthday. The man's voice who sang in Italian was great! However, the waitress distracted us and we didn't know he was there to sing until he started singing. I would like to have heard what he was telling our daughter and got my phone out to record the experience for her. Otherwise the staff and setting was wonderful.
Food was terrible, overcooked and many items on the menu unavailable. Service was poor. The waiter told us he doesn't ever eat the food at Macaroni Grill and because of that could not describe menu items or make recommendations. We will not return. This is the second time in a row we've had a bad experience.
We haven’t been to Romano’s Macaroni Grill in years because it is far away from where we live. We are so glad we made the trip. My favorite Chicken Florentine salad was just as I remembered it. Delicious! My husband ordered his favorite, Penne Rustica. He said that it was perfect! Our server, Shevy, was so friendly and attentive. We won’t be waiting years to return!
There was something wrong with the meat sauce.
In both the lasagna and Mama’s spaghetti abs meat sauce.
Both were bolognese sauces.
My pasta di mare sauce wasn’t good either
Add to that the drinks weren’t good
The service was absolutely awful! We waited almost an entire hour to get our food while other tables around us got their food before us and were seated AFTER my family. I ordered a cocktail and they were all sold out of it. Then my husband ordered his meal and the waitress came back and they were all sold out of the Brussel Sprouts that come with the meal he ordered. It was just ridiculous. We had to ask for drink refills, I had to get up and approach my waitress because it had been 20 minutes since she’d been back to the table and we wanted our bill. Horrible experience.
I think the wait time on the food could be more faster. Also you need new knives for the bread.
Made reservations week before Mother’s Day-
When we arrived management was seating us in back banquet room with large seating. I asked for the other quieter side as had reservations. Manager (lady long hair) said reluctantly would make exception this one time but don’t count on this as a regular guaranteed exception next time. I was embarrassed to be celebrating my mom this way with such service. We almost left. Dining service was good but food way too over priced for what you had. Eggs Benedict $15 with stack of dry arugula only no fruit. I won’t be back and that’s too bad as we have been carrying on this tradition at this location for years. I’ll warn others as well to reconsider. Change your management culture and re-look at the value to food ratio. What a disappointing a special day.
Even with a reservation, we were still waiting for our food 70 minutes after we sat down at our table. Even our appetizers weren't served. When we spoke with the manager and learned the cooks hadn't started preparing our meal yet, and it would be another 20 minute wait (at least), we left the restaurant.
We got right in to our table and sat down at our reservation time. Our drinks came out promptly. Other than that, nothing was right or timely in any way.
Our server, Emily, was great. However: the first problem was that there was a dirty tissue stuffed in the booth seat, such that every time I looked at my daughter across from me, I saw this. Eew, not very appetizing. Emily put on a sanitation glove and removed it. Second, one item I ordered from the menu, was not available (steel cut oatmeal). Then, my meal arrived a full 5 minutes (at least) before every one else's. So being polite, I waited for the remaining plates until mine was cold. The arugula, was wilted and didn't look or taste fresh--and normally, I love arugula. The avocado on my avocado toast was brown--not fresh. My daughter indicated the walnuts on her French toast were rancid. On the bright side, my husband and my daughter's boyfriend had no complaints about their BLTs. Still, we all agreed that it wasn't worth going back, sorry.
The food and ambiance was good. The waiter was scarce and difficult to get a hold of when needed and the portion size of my meal relative to the price (and my wife's meal) did not justify the cost.
Dinner is very overpriced for what you get. I
MG is not a fine dining establishment, and their prices are sky high for the type of food you get. Two people = $100.00.
It’s a noisy atmosphere full of people who forgot to get dressed for dinner..
The service was absolutely horrible. We were given menus with different pricing. The food was over cooked. Will not be going back.
