The portions are huge and enough to share. Great value! Veal Rizzuto and the meatball appetizer is spot on!
Our waiter was awesome and the food was absolutely delicious!
We had a wonderful time Saturday night. Our 10 month old grandson was getting a little antsy and the chef came out with a bowl of angel hair pasta--so thoughtful. We will be going back again.
It’s great every time we go
Not big on decor but reliable for excellent Italian favorites. The “build your own pasta” option is a great idea and the wait staff is helpful in making good pasta/sauce combinations.
Food slow to arrive. Food servers separate from the person servicing the table. Appetizer excellent. Salad excellent but main meal sat in the kitchen quite a while as it was like warm at best. Restaurant manager owned up to it and comp’d the main meals. I would try it again
Excellent, we are from Kansas City, visiting in New Orleans. Met the owner, fine man, and we have connections from Kansas City...small world...a fine restaurant...will repeat next time we are in New Orleans.
The food was outstanding!!!!2 days later and we are still talking about it! Service was exceptional! The whole experience was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We will return!
For starters we had a reservation through Open Table, the place was half full and they wanted to seat us at a two top against the wall in the far corner of the dining room. Server was non-attentive and seemed to be preoccupied. Food didn’t come out of the kitchen in a timely manner as the dining room was half empty. The food quality was hit and miss. Veal piccata was full of gristle and NOT thin. However the Veal chop and table side pasta alfredo was delicious and cooked perfectly. Desert was just average. We had high expectations but were disappointed.
Could not wait. Food, service And FOOD! Crabcake, Oysters Rizzuto and Stuffed Mushrooms all great. The steaks are the best I have ever had. It melted in my mouth! So full I couldn't eat a dessert, but they brought me an Birthday cake gelotto.
Next time I'm going to get all appetizers and desserts. Try it you will love it.
Great steaks, good service, dependable quality.
Italian dishes are good and pasta is cooked right
Delicious food, excellent service at a reasonable price. The servings were large. We all(including the men) had go boxes.
Did not know what we wanted when we arrived but the staff talked to us and were able to help is pick two amazing items. The lamb was one of my favorite dishes !
Lovely spot for my mother's birthday dinner. We were there early, so it was quiet, and they were lovely to our kids. Food was delicious. Highly recommend.
After hearing the specials the waiter informed us that there were no plates left available for ordering...
Food very good. Lots of good choices. Not sure it is as good Italian as the old Tony Angelo's at this site in past but still worth going.
We were taken care of very well at all I need and over exceeded our expectations. Food was amazing service was amazing
It’s always good go there all the time. The steaks are great along with salads and Italian food great place
The food and service were great. The renevation was well done. There was only one other table occupied. If we knew this going in we would have gone somewhere else. Sorry the place is not doing well.
food and value excellent. Upscale place overdue for Lakeview! Welcome to the neighborhood !
I’m not recommending this restaurant based on the horrible service. The waitress was extremely argumentative and the bus boy was totally unschooled in his his duties ( “ hand me your dirty plates “). If they can get their act together regarding poor service, rating would be higher.
Food needs a little work—-lukewarm pasta, wet crab cake , etc but the potential is there. Atmosphere is pleasant. The hostess is to be commended. Bar is attractive and cozy.
Great service is often the most important measure of a restaurant
The meal was incredible, was an unexpected excellent dinner.
My 3rd time here & as always excellent meal. Consistent which is important.
Restaurant Rizzuto is a unique dining experience. The menu is varietal, but centered around a strong Italian tradition of home-made dishes. Their wine list has offerings for any palate and price range. The service is extremely customer oriented and begins the second you walk in the door. The Hostess remembers your name and makes sure that you are seated at your convenience. We were a table of two and had two people assigned to meet out every need. Rizzutos is not just a pleasure, it is an experience.
The ribeye was perfectly done to my request of medium rare and perfectly delicious. The crab cake had lump meat and just the right seasoning with no fillers. The meal was rounded out by a beet salad that was outstanding in the freshness of the ingredients and dressing. The bolognese and eggplant dishes were excellent done in genuine Italian style as Rizzuto's does so well. We had great service with the courses well timed as always. The food and wine were also well priced and a great value considering the quality and portion size. This is our favorite steak and Italian restaurant in New Orleans area.
Food was delicious and ambience is warm and cozy. Our wait staff was excellent.
My wife and I were very well pleased! The food was superb! Service Superb--tipped about 23%! The only thing lacking is they need more painting or pictures on the walls.
Food was excellent I had the chicken piccata and my husband had B Bill Rizzuto. Both were delicious!
I was disappointed. The food was lukewarm when it reached our table. Nor did the kitchen live up to expectations. Tony Angelo’s occupied this space before Katrina. It was one of the finest restaurant in the metro area. I was praying that Rizzuto’s would be a post-K reboot of its predecessor. It wasn’t . Not sure I’ll return.
The Grouper special was one of the best Grouper dishes I have ever eaten
Food was fabulous, service was outstanding. Bartenders were very personable and drinks were delicious.
My seafood salad was amazing! I was disappointed, however, that they did not honor what I was told when I called the evening before. I specifically asked whether the $1 lunch martinis were offered and was told yes, which was an incentive for bringing a martini-loving Birthday guest with me. It was embarrassing to have to question the waiter and have him come back with a NO after checking with his boss, saying the hostess with whom I spoke wasn't a server and didn't know about prices. My guest was then uncomfortable and said she didn't need a martini. Of course, I paid the $13 but seems like it would have been good business to just give me the $1 price and then set the hostess straight. This was my third Friday lunch visit with 1-2 friends and I've told many others about the deal. Again, I realize it ended but the error was not mine; I called.
Rizzuto's is now my favorite Italian restaurant in New Orleans. Actually, both the Italian dishes and the steaks are excellent. The service is very good and the owners, chef and bartender are very friendly. I have not had a bad meal here and everyone that I've taken there has loved it, as well. I'm so happy to have this great restaurant in my West Lakeview neighborhood!
Had dinner last Sunday for our wedding anniversary. Hannah, our server was great! The only negative about our meal was the bruciuluni that I had ordered was not hot. At best it was room temperature. This should not have happened at a restaurant of this caliber.
Went to Rizzuto's Ristorante & Chop House for dinner with my wife. She had the Chicken Parmesan and I had the Tomahawk Porkchop, which was delicious and tender. It was one of the best porkchops I had ever eaten. The portions were so large that we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. The atmosphere was lovely and the wait staff were amazing. I will definetly be going back in the near future.
While the food was good the service was pretty bad. When we first arrived and sat down at our table it took about 15 minutes for us to get a drink. When we were finally asked if we would like some water, we asked the server for sparkling water. After 5 more minutes of waiting the drink server never came back but our actual waiter showed up and gave us regular water. Not sure what happened between our drink server and waiter but there was definitely no communication or extra care. The problem with trying to get water continued throughout the night. We got there around 8:30 and quickly became the only table around so I cannot say that the problem was caused by the restaurant being busy. After we tried ordering water from the drink server Nate one more time, I gave up after I saw him walk away from our table and go immediately to another table to start setting it up for a potential new client. For the price of this restaurant my expectation was that the service would be better. I guess this place is just better for larger groups.
The Best Steaks in the GNO area. Cooked to perfection. Fork Tender Filet
There were two dishes that we had which were good. The Eggplant Rolatini and the Burrata and Arugala Salad. The pasta -supposedly their homemade pasta- was dry and tasteless. The Veal Piccata was drenched in a heavy lemon/caper cream sauce instead of the traditional light lemon caper sauce. We were seated in a bizarre back room corner of the restaurant surrounded on two side by heavy red draperies eventhough there were many other tables available. We asked to move and our waiter was very agreeable to this idea which make our experience a bit better. I ordered vodka with a twist of lemon and had a wedge of lemon in my drink. Same for the two men at the table who ordered Sazeracs-lemon slice instead of just the peel. Weird. Overall it was a big dissapointment and we will not return.
Fantastic food! Impeccable service!
Enjoyed our meals and service. Had leftovers as well. Only complaint was only one walkway to the restaurant. Was raining when we arrived and walked through the grass to the front door, otherwise would have gotten more wet going around to the side walk.
