Excellent food, service, and ambiance as usual. Fancy but casual.
Please train your hostess on how to be professional. She was extremely un-professional. We watched her turn away business as we waited for our table. Our food and server were excellent. We dine there regularly but your new hostess is not a good fit and is loosing you business.
No greeter when we arrived. Hostess certainly friendly when she appeared. She asked if we would be eating off the 4-course menu. How would we know without seeing it and the regular menu? Server friendly, helpful, professional. Food mostly poor. Some inedible. Ingredients like a cheap café. So disappointing. Won't return. Won't recommend.
We enjoyed a relaxing, river view dinner on the outside patio on a warm summer mid-week evening. 4-course meal was generous and well prepared. If you choose this dinner option, be sure to bring your appetite. Service was prompt and friendly. Would recommend & look forward to returning.
The food menu for the groupon was pretty limited in variety. Not much of the food on the menu sounded appetizing to us unfortunately. We had a great time aside from that. The view was great, the waiters were very nice and considerate even when rain started pouring from the sky and we all had to be moved inside, and the ambiance was generally upper scale, but many people brought families and weren't dressed for a 'special occasion' type of place.
Has a lot of potential, but sadly falls way short. Very limited uninteresting menu, drinks were good, service was ok, but extremely slow. There seemed to be sufficient staff in hand , but they appeared to be more interested in hanging out with each other. And why would any local chef choose to use Atlantic salmon, especially in the PNW!? Just cannot recommend this place.
Service was decent when he finally showed up afte about 20 min. Food was absolutely terrible and way overpriced and I’m sorry to elaborate but I mean the food was horrible!! I’m done with this place and this review!! Waste of my time
A wonderful, relaxing place for dinner and cocktails. This has been our favorite dinner place for many years, even after moving away from the area. The menu is outstanding, always interesting and delicious. In the past, they have had a piano player in the evenings which we have really enjoyed, so we missed this feature.
It took a while after we were seated to get the attention of a waiter, but once that was established he was very good. The restaurant even provided a 'shared' dessert to celebrate our anniversary.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting by the Sandy River. The service is good but I was not impressed with the food.
We were all gussied up for Girl's Night Out and this gorgeous location seemed just the ticket. It was a complete let down. Our waiter didn't see us until 24 minutes after we were seated, prices were through the roof for the small selection, and nothing appealed to us. We had drinks and left, right after bread was finally brought to our table, after the appetizer and drinks we ordered! Would not recommend based on service, price and generally feeling unwelcome.
Have never been disappointed. Love sitting outside during nice summer days and watching the river and the wildlife.
Super, love it, love it! This is definately worth the view. The food is fabulous...
It took about 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. This was the only downfall. The waiter and the food was outstanding! Love being able to eat outside! Thank you!
I love the situation of the restaurant by the Sandy River. The service was great.
The location is great. When you step in you would expect something more. Like white covered table etc. The dishes were average, the service too. Nothing really special. I miss the wow-effect on this promising location. It is too bad that this nice restaurant on this nice position not can fulfill the expectations.
Family in town visiting Oregon for the first time. We’ve never been here and decided to try a new place for all of us to enjoy after spending the afternoon at Vista House & Multnomah Falls. Food was good, portion sizes were about what you’d expect for this type of restaurant and depending on what you ordered it was even bigger than what I was expecting. Everyone especially loved the fresh mini loaves of bread with the honey butter. Only a couple of complaints, the sauces with our dishes was very minuscule. Not much sauce with our Polenta Frites or with the Thai Ocean Skewers. The Sesame-Seared Ahi was perfect, but with as much as you’re paying for your meal they should provide better quality chopsticks. They’re the cheap ones and I found myself picking splinters out of my mouth. Everyone was happy with their meals and 5 out of the 6 of us all had leftovers to take home. Decedent Chocolate Cake was really good too. We almost went for the Bananas Foster Flambé, however since everyone was so full we opted to share the decedent cake instead.
Beautiful setting with exceptional service and delicious food. Our server, Tyler, did a great job bringing our food in a timely manner. Brought our grandson 'the best piece of cheesecake ever' for his birthday meal!
My husband and I had a most enjoyable dinner sitting on the patio of the Riverview Restaurant next to the Sandy River.
Great view and great service.
Excellent food! Beautiful setting on the river! Great service!
Took a while to get someone to our table.
The food quality for the type of restaurant was not up to par.
Appetizer seemed old.
Dry and over cooked main dishes.
Waiter was OK once he got started.
Could be a nice place if a little more attention was paid to the basics.
Super nice deck for outdoor dining.
Atmosphere was wonderful, i enjoyed taking L.O for a walk around the garden and they were accomodating when we asked to go inside when it got too hot on the patio. Check ended up being $200 for 4 with a groupon which was a little spendy in our book for the food which was a little mediocre in our opinion.
It was bland and most of it needed salt badly, which wasn't put on our outside table until after we had finished our appetizers and soup. Thus the 3 stars for service. Tables should already have that when you are seated.
Their bread was fantastic, hot and pillowy in texture coming out in mini loafs with whipped butter and they were very generous with them. We had three I believe.
The wonton appetizer was good but the meat needed seasoning, the sauce helped but would have been better with salt. Again clam chowder was good but needed salt and pepper badly, even the crackers they gave us to add to it were saltless.
My entree was the balsamic chicken with mashed potatoes and yoshida sauce. The sauce helped with flavoring but overall it was ok, nothing awe unspiring I would return for. M-I-L had the salmon which was good, she and I enjoyed the olive tapanade. Didn't care for the polenta and I think it was the only item we orderes that wasnt covered in Yoshida sauce.
Husband and friend got the brisket which once again was paired with Yoshidas. It was moist and tender but everything was very one noted.
Highlite for me was my dessert which was creme brulee but hard to mess up in my opinion. The others had the flourless cake which I didnt enjoy at all as it was rather dry and covered in too much powdered sugar. Would have benefited from having chocolate in the center rather than on too to add gooiness.
Overall everything was just ok. Everyone in our party agreed it wasn't anything we would return for given the price.
So we went for our wedding anniversary. The ambiance and setting is absolutely amazing. We went last year and the food seem to be better. Don't know if we'll do the same thing next year if anything will probly come for the happy hour and the view.
We had the 4 course dinner offered by groupon. Each course was well prepared, presented beautifully, and tased very nice. The outdoor setting was perfect.
We had a relaxing time at the restaurant eating out on the patio overlooking the Sandy River. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We would definitely go there again. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
The food in this place is awful not tasty at all. The restaurant was nice, quite and clean. The waitstaff was great. It's just your food socks.
Nice riverside deck. Food not as good as we’ve had previous visits. Happy hour prices more expensive than advertised online. Entrees expensive for what we got. Huge portion of ok garlic mashed potatoes, everything else on the plate very small, piece of broccoli and a couple pea pods for veggies. Fish a little over cooked. Will think twice before dining again, maybe just happy hour on the deck.
What a delightful experience it was to dine here!! The food was exceptional, the service unparalleled, and the atmosphere just so warm and pleasant!! We had the four course dinner and each person in our party ordered something different and no one was disappointed. I ordered the salmon and it just melted in my mouth - it was the best I have ever had!! And they accommodated a garlic/onion allergy without fanfare or making the person feel like they had to be apologetic!! Really, everything was perfect and we can't wait to go again!!
Fantastic food. Great staff. Beautiful outdoor patio!
Great food.. great service... great atmosphere.
We sat outside and couldn’t ask for a better spot.. we most definitely will be coming back..
Thank you Riverview
Had a very nice dinner with good service. Sat on the deck overlooking the river which is always nice. Only complaint was that there were 4 very loud women seated close to us.
The preparation of the brisket was different from what we have had before, or at least how it is served. It was still very good, just not as great as we previously had.
We were disappointed on the small size of the menu. There was no veal, lamb, or pork, and only 1 chicken and 1 fish selection. The dessert menu was a joke...3 or 4 (I have forgotten which) selections. Riverview has always (last 9 years) been our go to restaurant for special occasions. I think we will now find another.
I love this restaurant because of the view. We went to celebrate my mom‘s last day of being in town from Alabama. We were set outside, the day was perfect. There seem to be not enough staff for how many people were seated outside, our drinks seem to take a little while to arrive after they were ordered. The home-baked bread is nothing but pure bliss along with the honey flavored butter. However when I am paying $42 for a steak Dinner I expect it to taste fabulous. I ordered Medium rare it came so rare the inside was so cold, so were my mashed potatoes. The asparagus was grilled however they did not trim the ends properly so they were as hard as a rock. The manager wanted to give free desserts which was nice but I didn’t eat my dinner and asked for my money back. I’ve been here three times, once was good two were horrible. Last visit for me.
It thought that the rib-eye was pretty great, that the portions very large.
The service was outstanding and food was so good. It has a wonderful ambiance and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We spent our 50th wedding anniversary here 10 years ago and came back for our 60th.
We came in on Father's day and it was perfect. I ordered a virgin lemon drop and I don't know who the bar tender was that day but however he made the drink it was the most refreshing wonderful drink ever and the fresh mint topped it off I will drive out just to get it again noone knows how to make them virgin. The dinner also was fantastic I got the salmon, it was served with white rice and I think it should be mashed potatoes. My man got the pork shank it was tasty. We got to sit right by the fire which made it perfect for us. The grounds were very nice along the river. Hence river view. Thx again
Food was good, nothing over the top or special
Limited menu choices, if not a big meat/poultry/seafood eater. Very overpriced for quality. Huge space with few customers.
