This Neighborhood Restaurant is Closed Forever !!!
SOOO sorry to see this gem close. It has been a wonderful neighborhood choice for many years.
So sad that Ciao is closing!!!!!!
Ristorante Ciao never disappoints. Another fantastic experience. From the hostess to our server, Josh, to the wonderful food. This is a hidden gem we found by accident a few years ago which quickly became one of our favorite places. Josh selected a delicious bottle of wine, Nebbiolo D’Alba for the two of us to share. Fantastic selection! For our starters, I had the Tucson Roasted Beet Salad and the hubby had the Italian Wedding soup. The salad was delicious and the soup is my husband’s favorite. I had the short ribs which were outstanding. So tender and flavorful. My husband had the ravioli, delicious! With no room for dessert, I had a cappuccino and hubby had another glass of wine to end the evening. We absolutely lo I place.
Go before they close! Excellent food and service. It will be a loss to the Naples food scene.
get there quick. Gianfranco is retiring after Mothers Day
Appetizers amazing but my risotto was undercooked and unsavory.
So sorry that Ciao is closing after 34 years.
Lovely restaurant with a comfortable feel, friendly hostess, fun waiter and great cuisine. We will be back often.
Great restaurant too bad it’s closing May 9. Loss to Naples.
Everything was excellent as always. We are sorry to see this restaurant, one of the very best in Naples, close.
This was the first time I had dinner at Ristorante Ciao. So their closing in May will be our loss...and Naples’ loss, too.
I’m still one of those who is a die hard “eat outside only” persons. And...I’m always thrilled when a restaurant still gives you that choice. Dinner began with an introduction by our waiter, Vladimir, who took our drink order and clearly and politely explained the evening’s specials. I went with the Snapper, prepared ever so gently with an EVOO sauté which included perfectly done potatoes, green beans, cauliflower and zucchini. My dining companion and myself both started the meal with a perfectly dressed Caesar Salad. She had the Veal Stuffed Ravioli as her main course. She raved about her choice. Dinner ended with Espresso and House Made Biscotti. So...having been remiss and not trying Ristorante Ciao sooner...I am now giving you the opportunity to call for a reservation before they close FOREVER in May. So...GO THERE (soon.)
Visiting and wanted a nice quiet, romantic place with great food. Although reviews attested to that, it was nowhere close to that. Very dissapointing.
Sat outdoors. Very peaceful and only a block away from Frantic Fifth Avenue. Excellent food. It’s a shame they have to close after Mother’s Day.
Terrific location as well as great food. We were informed their lease was raised 60%, and they are going out of business as of early May. What a shame for these fine folks working here.
One of our favorite authentic Italian restaurants in Naples. Chef Gianfranco is amazing!! We recently learned they will be closing and we are so sad that we will never experience his Italian culinary expertise again. We have been blessed by his cooking for over 30 years. Best of luck to all those at this remarkable establishment. Ciao!
Always exceptional food and service. Best Italian restaurant in Naples
We are very saddened to learn that our favorite restaurant is closing it’s doors.
We have celebrated many an occasion and date night and have ALWAYS been so very pleased. The chef NEVER DISAPPOINTS and we can say the same with the wonderful, friendly, warm and professional staff. We are grateful to have been welcomed in such a fine restaurant and will miss everyone so very dearly. God Bless everyone.

THE BEST WHITE TABLECLOTH RESTAURANT IN NAPLES!
LAST OF THE SOPHISTICATED UPSCALE RESTAURANTS.
I would have given the food a “5” however my veal chop, though flavorful was on the fatty side. Julian, our waiter did a fantastic job and the Chef even came out and prepared my wife’s special dessert table side. Would highly recommend.
Very good...been here a few times and will definitely go back
Wonderful food and service. The Short Ribs and Osso Buco were exceptional. Sitting outside on the sidewalk on 3rd Ave was quieter than you would think. Hope to go back soon to try some other items.
So sorry to hear they are closing their doors as of May. This restaurant had become
one of my favorites this 2021 season!
One of Naples best Italian restaurants. The ambiance is more like a Wisconsin Supper Club rather than what you expect to see in downtown Naples, but everything on the menu is excellent! It was a little noisy the day we were there because there was a large group sitting next to us, but that's something that just happens sometimes no matter where it is. Service was great too!
Had a very nice meal with friends here...our server was great and the food was very good. They have outside seating - located just a block off 5th Ave it has a very pretty view.
A true neighborhood gem...traditional favorites with authentic Italian chef Gianfranco! Carol and staff always welcoming and tables are spaced apart for comfortable dining during these times. See you soon! My Chicken Marsala with ANGEL hair pasta substitution was delicious with the Marsala sauce!! 🤗🤗
We had a lovely evening at Ristorante Ciao—quiet and off the beaten path as others had suggested. Our server Reese gave us good recommendations for wine and food and was appropriately attentive all night. I already knew I would have my favorites carpaccio and Osso Buco and both were outstanding. My boyfriend took the suggestions of the pan-fried calamari with Parmesan and the pounded veal chop and enjoyed them both. The complementary dessert for my birthday was yummy and appreciated.
Josh, our waiter, was amazing. The food was very good. Classic Italian food with great bread and awesome olive oil!
Excellent experience Saturday night. Calamari and mussels were delicious. Osso buca, chicken piccata and fettuccine ciao were all delicious. Bellinis were great as well. Sat outside on a beautiful Naples night with plenty of shade from the big tree. We will definitely be back.
Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! The service was attentive without being too much and the food was very good...as we have always experienced at Ciao’s. Love the “old school” white table clothes. A wonderful Tried and True in Naples.
Wonderful, as usual. Chef Gianfranco’s creations are the best! Loved the new pistachio cake!
We come for just a month each year and always get to Ciao three times It’s clearly our favorite Naples restaurant and Natalie is the very best server anywhere!
First time at this restaurant. So happy we found this place. Everything was perfect. Service, food and ambiance and value. My Fettuccine Caio was delightfully perfect. Will go again and again! ❤😋
Outstanding food and service . Always a treat .
Excellent food and service. Everyone warm and welcoming. Josh is a most professional, knowledgeable waiter. A special restaurant!
Our favorite authentic Italian restaurant in Naples! Never disappoints!
Wonderful experience overall. Out of town guests are still raving about the evening
Food and service was excellent!
This was our first visit and it was fantastic. We sat outside on a lovely evening and the service was perfect at a pace that we set - we weren’t rushed and we were able to enjoy the delicious pastas and main courses. The veal chop Milanese was awesome as was the variety of pastas. Delicious deserts - just an awesome experience. It is at the top of our list of Downtown Naples restaurants.
