Absolutely delicious. Beautiful building. Impeccable service. Don’t miss an opportunity to dine here.
Fixed price menu tasted great. Excellent food and drinks. However, for a restaurant supposedly known for its service, I was thoroughly underwhelmed. I found it completely lacking. Our waiter ignored us so much the maitre d had to intervene (who was quite nice btw). I was also surprised that they didn't acknowledge our special occasion. Typically high end restaurants do so on reservations.
It was wonderful! Our third time here and absolute charm like always.
Best meal I’ve had in quite a while. Loved the foie gras.
Always elegant and friendly. The new chef is really respecting August's classics and giving them a new level of elegance. We cannot wait to return.
We went for our 5 year anniversary and the food and service was incredible. They made us feel so special and have the best dessert too!
The food was absolutely amazing. And Boris the manager and his staff went above and beyond to make the birthday celebration fabulous. The best restaurant in the city.
Excelente servicio, la comida es estupenda, nos trataron como reyes luego de que supieron que es nuestra noche de compromiso, tuvimos varias cortesías de la casa. Recomiendo a Boris Palacios, habla español y nos atendió como en casa
Another wonderful dinner at August.
Creative and exceptional dishes served by attentive staff al
My husband and I have eaten lunch at August several times while on vacation in New Orleans, usually choosing the prize fixed menu, which includes something for every course. Our favorite this time was a chicken and sausage gumbo. Very nice room, good wait staff.
Amazing Food, I will make sure to schedule dinner in this restaurant next time I visit New Orleans
Amazing service, amazing food. Fantastic atmosphere.
Great cuisine..smaller than expected portions. Excellent service!
Top notch experience. Elegant, charming and sophisticated. Food was delicious and the service truly outstanding. Highly recommended among several dining options in Nola.
Date night while passing through
Had a wonderful Dinning experience with my wife at Resturant August. All courses were exceptional and the sauces were beyond descriptions!!! MUST EAT Resturant in NOLA!!
It’s hard not to find good food in New Orleans. That said, this place far surpasses any other place we have been in the years we have been enjoying NOLA’s many excellent restaurants. The service is personal and excellent. We asked our waiter to advise us on wine. He recommended two delicious choices well paired with our diverse menu selections. The food was imaginative and delicious. The menu included two prix fixe options one being vegetarian. My choice of a roasted brussels sprout salad as a first course was so good my partner who does not like them gave it his “oh wow” rating. Excellent, excellent food. Recommendation? Book in advance and enjoy.
Excellent service and food. Beautiful Surroundings but not stuffy. Staff went out of their way to accommodate.
My wife summed it up in one sentence. "The most romantic dinner we've ever had." Mind you we've been married 8 years and have had many dates at nice restaurants. By far the staff, the décor, and the food were all on a level of their own. If you live in Louisiana or you are visiting from out of state, August is the place you need to come to. Make sure that you set up reservations because getting a table is difficult.
Just eatin lunch
We had 24 hours in NOLA and August was the perfect place for a lovely dinner and made us want to return again!
Excellent food. The best restaurant in New Orleans
August is AMAZING! You will be so happy you came -- EVERYTHING is so beautifully presented and delicious. Fabulous cocktails -- like they SHOULD taste! Impeccable friendly service. Absolutely top drawer all the way.
Last minute trip to New Orleans for a Saints game. We were fortunate to get a reservation and we had the best damn time. Great menu. It was the PERFECT start to our day. Never disappoints. Thanks for making our Thanksgiving special, less stressful and (for the first time in 5 years) without our families! Cheers! Who Dat!
Had a very enjoyable time with friends. Service was excellent, as was the food. My only criticism would be smallish portions for the price. The Crab/Shrimp ravigote had a lot of salad as compared to the seafood. Still a very pleasant dinner and even with our group of six, we were able to carry on a conversation.
August remains what "fine dining" should be: an experience for the senses. The place is lovely without being pretentious; the staff is friendly and very helpful without being overly familiar and the food... amazing! Creative, flavorful, varied and beautifully presented is just about perfect.
Service was spot on and very knowledgeable. Not my type of ambiance but nothing wrong with it.
Where I have a problem is with the food especially the Foie Gras. For the first course, I ordered Foie Gras three ways. Totally disappointed in the concept of this dish. As a fine dining restaurant chef for over 25 years, it took many years throughout my career that you must honor the ingredient as the star of the show. Instructed to eat the dish from left to right, the first was a terrine of foie gras with duck, duck ham, and apple. Very small, and although busy, at least the foie shined. The second portion was also a kind of terrine. The foie was covered by several small layers of a sweet cake. Eaten together, the sweetness dominated the liver. Once I separated the foie from the cake I could taste the main ingredient although it wasn't as well seasoned as the first terrine. The last was a cornmeal tart filled with foie Gras and topped with a satsuma curd and chopped nuts. I defy anybody who eats this item blindfolded to detect any duck liver. Seriously!. The purest expression of cold Foie Gras is either a pressed terrine or a torchon. The two later variations were pure manipulation of an ingredient that deserves more respect. The preparation can be complex but the taste must sing of the ingredient. This dish failed in most respects. Sorry, I'm very passionate about food. The meal ended on a very nice note. I had the gnocchi with blue crab and black truffle shavings. It was well thought out, executed flawlessly, and had great balance between the ingredients.
The prix fixe menu for lunch is an outstanding value!! The creativity and care expressed by the chef is noteworthy. All the flavors are a treat for your senses. Presentation is a visual piece of art.
Outstanding all the way around....
A special treat as always with guests from out of town.
This is truly an outstanding restaurant. Subtle flavors in all of the courses. Local ingredients well utilized.
The food really was amazing! The gnocchi was delicious! i would recommend the "Degustation Menu" to really get a huge variety of incredibly prepared food. Plan to spend a lot of money but it was really worth it for a special occasion.
Just a fantastic culinary experience. We highly recommend!
Every aspect of our dining experience was excellent. The service and food was incredible.
August is always incredible. The food was fantastic. Our waiter was superb. Wine was delicious.
Exceptional evening. Every dish was better than the last. The Brussels sprouts were insanely good. Service was spot on.
A very special meal. Truly my favorite restaurant in New Orleans.
What a beautiful restaurant and memorable night. We loved every bite and sip.
We had the most memorable meal here celebrating my 50th birthday. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Steven and Robert were great at making our experience be memorable.
This by far the best restaurant in New Orleans! We come here just about every time we come to town. Everything is excellent and the service outstanding!
