Elegant restaurant with top notch food. Our waitress was delightful and super accommodating to make our experience wonderful. Can't say enough good things about the service!
My wife and I had the most wonderful meal of our entire lives. It was so amazing my wife began to cry, stating that the staff and the meal made her so happy it was making her cry. The head waitress upon learning of this took my wife to meet the head chef. WOW
Our favorite restaurant in New Orleans. I’m Beyonce with excellent service very personal. And of course the food was great
August never disappoints. Food, service and atmosphere is always second to none. We just don’t get to go as often as we would like.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food!
Excellent meal and service. Well priced wine list. Definitely recommend
Consistently the best meal in New Orleans. Every course was great, the service was attentive, and the meal was just delightful. Will always recommend.
Awesome food and service. Our waiter, Zeke, was on the spot and very helpful.
It was amazing-service could not have been better and food was amazing!!!
Wedding anniversary celebration
Pricy, not worth it!
Amazing 😉 place
Best in the world !
Better than Paris !
Great food!! Will definitely look forward to another evening at August!! Great waiter!
Wait staff was attentive and unobtrusive. Prices were higher but apparent when seeing and tasting the quality of the menu items. Great ambiance and quality
On arrival we were shown to probably the worst table in the restaurant we complained were then offered a choice of much better tables . We close a better table from then everything was excellent passionate staff excellent food and a great wine
Lovely venue with an enticing menu. Unfortunately, our food was not consistent. A friend and I both got the vegetarian tasting menu. The first two courses were delicious, as were the manhattan cocktails they made for us. The third and fourth courses looked beautiful but the third was way too salty and the fourth had too much balsamic vinegar on it, bad enough that we probably should have sent them back. Not the type of food you expect for this much money - or for a menu appearing this creative. I would not go back.
Great food. No issues. Make sure to make reservations prior to heading there.
On my list for whenever I am in New Orleans!
It what is used to be. We were disappointed in the food and how we were treated in spite of booking ahead and noting that it was a special occasion.
The food, wine, service and atmosphere were top notch.
Had 3 flies visit our table by the window, but the service and food were excellent.
Nice and elegant place for a couple dinner
Jacob our server was excellent and knowledgeable and really on point overall. Best service we had during our 5 day stay.
Restaurant August continues to take what would be just an ordinary dish and add great ingredients and make it into an outstanding dish. Atmosphere is excellent and wine list too.
The only criticism is with our initial experience with the hostess. She wanted to seat us in the back Of the restaurant and she seemed perturbed when we refused to sit there. Ultimately they gave us a great seat up in front. Otherwise, the food and the service was excellent.
It was lovely on every level
Limited menu but great food. Fabulous service. One of our favorites in Nola
Incredible culinary adventure. Thank you to Sommelier Erin
Absolutely the best meal I’ve eaten in many years! Every item in every course had nuances of flavor that combined were just breathtaking. I hated to swallow because I wanted to savor every bite longer! Definitely order the wagyu hanger steak if you love beef (I literally never used my knife it was so tender). The duck was amazing too. And wine pairings were perfection. I’m not a huge fan of NOLA but I’d travel back to eat at August again!
Someone recommended this restaurant and it was spot on. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable.
Impeccable service, delicious food, elegant setting
This was the best meal that we had during our entire "music tour" of New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville. The complimentary appetizers were very unique and a delicious surprise, especially the potato gnocchi with blue crab, black truffle and parmesan. My husband had the duck and it was perfect. It was described as "lacquered duckling, "elote" grits, buttered radish and blackened foie gras" - WOW. I had the flounder Pontchartrain with shrimp, crawfish and crab. I am a recipe tester for America's Test Kitchen and let me tell you, I was very impressed with this item! For dessert, we shared the lemon blueberry Pavlova with lavender foam, local honey and blueberry ice cream. Yummy and a nice ending to our meal. We saved the complementary pralines and chocolate rum balls for lunch the next day! Bravo!
It was awesome!!!!!! Best soft shell crab in the world!
The food at Restaurant August is amazing but I was very disappointed with the service. We went to celebrate a birthday and felt like our server forgot about us. After the first appetizers were cleared we did not speak to our server again until after we paid. No one came by throughout the meal to check on us to see how the food was or to ask if we wanted any other drinks. We had to flag someone down for the wine list mid meal and never got a chance to order any more. After we paid, the server came over and said he forgot to bring out a happy birthday plate and forgot we were celebrating it, however, the table behind us was also celebrating a birthday and friends with him so he spent all his time with them. We left disappointed. What was meant to be a fun birthday dinner turned into a sad event from the bad service.
My wife and I have visited NOLA on our anniversary for the last two years dining at August each time. At first glance you think the menu is limited but there is actually something for everyone. The appetizers are unique and are presented beautifully. Besides my wife's potato gnocchi and my fried oysters they treated us to the roasted heirloom tomato tartlet which is actually on their tasting menu (you can order anything on the tasting menu a la carte). It was so good I thought my wife was going to stab the waiter with her fork when he tried to remove it! For our entrees we had the softshell crab and the flounder-both were delicious. Another plus was their wine list. Plenty to choose from in both variety and price point. Happily they don't gouge on the mark up of their wines.
Above all was the service at August. This was only our second time there and were treated like their best customers.
The serving staff are delightful, friendly and efficient. Management, not so much. The atmosphere is sterile and it seems to think it's better than the city that its in. If you're looking for a taste of New Orleans, this is not the place: we are at one other fine dining restaurant that was lovely.
Food is fine, fairly generic, lacking love and fun. Not worth the hefty price tag nor your evening in this vibrant city.
Once again, cannot fault the servers, sommelier and front of house staff.
Here for a business dinner. Food and service were very good and loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It did get very loud as more people came in but was still a great experience.
