We tried the goat cheese tamales which was really good - next time I would order without the Cotijo cheese on top since it is so overpowering. My friend tried the lobster poblano chile rellano and I tried the carnitas plate - both really good. Prices are in line with La Jolla dining. Will definitely come back.

Food was decent. Our busser appeared to be high as a kite but was attentive. Waiter was good, and food was decent with the exception of the tacos that were smaller than a taquito.

Very nice and friendly eatery. We came in on a Sunday early afternoon for a quick bite. SDSU basketball was on and has asked bar tender if could put on our screen. Thank you and will be back again.

The 2 hostess in the front will not greet you when you walk in. They try an avoid talking to guests as they walk in so you feel incredibly unwelcome.

Great place! We sat on the patio before our table was ready, we were sitting there maybe two minutes and the manager asked if someone had helped us we said no but it was fine, he said it was not fine and personally got our drinks and comped then. Then we had our meal and it was amazing. we will be back!!

Nice place and all but the portions for the price are not worth it. Not to mention my Lobster and Shrimp tacos barely had anything inside - didn’t even taste lobster, mostly shrimp. Way too small for a high priced entree. Rice and beans were good but overall not worth it. Ambiance good for drink, appetizers.

When I go to an upscale place, and pay higher prices, I expect exceptional food and exception service. The food was exceptional, the delivery of the food was timely, but I ordered two beers and each one too 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. It was valentines day, so that may have been a factor. In a mid-range restaurant I would expect better than that. In a high end place like red-o, where total cost with drinks and tip is well over $100 per person, exceptional service is mandatory for me to be motivated to return. I won't be back to red-o for a while...

We held a lovely lunch for 10 of our employees who received an award. The food and service did not disappoint. The location is walking distance making you convenient for Silvergate. We shall return.

While pouring the tortilla soup into my bowl the server splashed the soup all over my light blue jacket and it will now have to dry cleaned. There really was no need for this type of presentation and I recommend that this practice be eliminated to spare future customers.

Restaurant and food are really good, is not the first time I’m there. However the service was bad. The waitress initially brought the regular menu, so we insisted twice to bring the special menu for restaurant week, finally he brought it.
His attitude was not good and at the end we paid in cash, he took long time to bring the change which represented around 30% of the amount, so I asked for the change and he just said he was thinking was his tip.

My husband and I were at the Red O for lunch and we liked the quality of the food and atmosphere. What ruined an otherwise wonderful experience was the parking. We parked in the wrong lot and the restaurant would not validate the parking. We ended up paying $8.75 for an hour plus, which is ridiculous considering that it was not clear where to park. We came in from Executive Drive and did not see any sign from that direction. Unless things become clarified on the parking policy, we are sad to say that we will not be returning.

This review is only for lunch during restaurant week. Otherwise the value would only be average. There were 5 of us and we all chose the special menu. We all had the duck taquito to start. It was excellent. Light delicious and well plated. 3 of us chose the grilled wild Scottish salmon with rice. Salmon was a small 4oz portion but moist succulent and perfectly cooked. The plate has no garnish and a couple of extra ounces and some vegetables would have garnered the extra star. A $5 extra charge would be justified. The other 2 ordered the enchiladas and had regular sized plate with rice and beans. The Tres Leches dessert was delectable with fresh berries. We had espresso or coffee and both were delicious.

Nice atmosphere and not too noisy. The food is excellent and has a decent selection of salads, traditional Mexican and other items to choose from. Certainly a nice upscale place for lunch or dinner without breaking the bank.

Came here before and loved their food so excited to revisit for restaurant week. It was a friend’s birthday so we were celebrating. Ordered their goat cheese tamales, carnitas, and tres leches. Everything was delicious! Very impressed!

Food and cocktails were not of the quality expected. Beautiful place but not worth the price. A signature margarita was improperly made. Food was surprisingly under my minimum acceptance.

Quality of food is very good, but “pricey” compared to other restaurants with similar quality. Margaritas are also more expensive than other restaurants, although at the bottom of the drink menu, they did offer a house Margarita which was ok.

Great food, service and the ambiance is quite nice. Always a great place for drinks too after work. I love the Ribeye steak as well as the tacos. The Sommelier was terrific and can suggest the perfect bottle of wine for you at request.

Amazing food and service! Loved Jose as our server as he was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and recommendations, bilingual so he was able to speak to my parents about menu questions...
