I always try to use Ray's for luch prior to a visit to LACMA. I've also been using it as a lunch alternative. I think LACMA is doing a fabulous job with its employees and I mean everyone is helpful, courteous, attentive creating a warm and welcomed atmosphere.
Great service. food was amazing. Everything came out very quickly and presentation was perfect👌
Enjoyed the cheese plate
Food is outstanding and you are at the fantastic museum! Friendly service too. A lovely place for brunch and then take in the art!
Could not have been a better food experience and great service!
Always enjoy it here! The food is always inventive and surprising. It is very appropriate for a Museum day out!!!
The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more welcoming. We were celebrating an anniversary and they made the day so special
Been to Ray’s on many occasions and love the food. Our Waitress and all the staff were so attentive and knowledgeable. Made it a perfect evening out.
It's the location for sure. You cannot beat the fact that it's AT LACMA; so you have an elegant & wonderful location no matter how you look at it. Great place to meet before & after the museum etc.
BUT the service at the bar was terrible and slow AND the wine BY the glass almost 20 dollars?! Are you kidding me?! Are you freaking Kidding?! Wine by the GLASS at $16?1 You MUST be joking! That ALONE will keep us away. You MuST have a normal price for wine by the glass. We went next door to Marie Calendar's instead and got twice to three times the value.
Everything ordered came perfect! My hamburger came as ordered (medium rare). The eggplant dish was perfect blend of tastes, and the Brusselsprout salad was delicious.
I will Definitely return.
A perfect outing, early lunch at R and S which was delightful in every way: fettuccini for my wife which she raved about and shrimp and grits for me...delicious. Then off to Museum hopping. The Chagalls were fascinating.
What a great restaurant in a great spot. A favorite.
As always the food was AMAZING. However, service was spotty. Our waiter greeted us warmly and then scuttled between too many tables. We ended up placing our order with a bus boy, who noted we were sitting and sitting and sitting. We ended up flagging down another bus boy to get the bill after sitting and sitting and sitting.
We walked up to the Hostess and asked if a table were available. The Hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We said no. We could see many empty tables in each section of the restaurant. She said that there was no table available. I walked a few feet away and used my open table app to make a reservation to see what I could get. I got now. I reserved it and walked back. I told her I had a reservation and showed her my reservation and we were seated at a table.
I learned that she only sat people with reservations regardless of availability.
Our waitress was fine. The food was fine if over priced, but we accepted that as a given because of the location.
Room was cold. Waiters were overworked and had little time for our table. Overpriced
Great burgers, not a good pasta, very slow and unprofessional service
Great service every time.
Limited menu but nice choices
Friday night from late spring to early fall is open air concert time at LACMA featuring great musicians from all over the country making Ray's and Stark the place to be for an early Friday dinner. On warm evenings dine outside to best appreciate the music but escape to the warmth of their indoor setting on cooler evenings. Considering the nature of the venue, the restaurant offers a reasonable selection of entrees and a good selection of wines to pair them with. For those not into the wine scene there is also an interesting selection of beers and a full service bar offering cocktails for every taste. All in all a very good dining experience on any evening LACMA is open but especially on Fridays during outdoor concert season. A reservation is recommended.
Too many managers stopped by to ask about our meal. Unfortunately it took a while to get hot tea, a plate for my pizza, and our check.
The menu was small and underwhelming. It wasn’t terrible I️ just wasn’t impressed. The service was good and we still had an enjoyable evening.
Everything was fine but not in th category of superb. But Ray's is a scene place and, given that, it excelled.
Nice little alternative to the previous appt we had at another restaurant. Our service was very nice and pleaseant to speak with.
Lobster salads with Arnold Palmers. The perfect summer lunch delight. And thank you for having black napkins. I have to ask in San Francisco.
Great meal if you are catching a show at LACMA. Kale salad was best I ever had. Pizza a bit soggy on the crust, but still falvorful. Lovely waiter-- and a decent bottle of wine. Sunday lunch couldn't have been better.
Love to eat here when we go to LACMA. It is relaxing , food is good and staff are helpful and friendly.
Great service - one of my favorite restaurants for the last 7 years. We were literally the only ones seated inside for the entire meal. Super attentive server with a great attitude.. I just don't think we got checked in on open table for my reservation because I received an open table email saying "sorry we missed you". We were very much there, table of 3. Just got home 20 mins ago.
Food was OK, although $24 for a cheeseburger is a bit dear. We ordered a wine and a beer. The beer never came, until I asked the food server for it. Overall, pretenscious.
I have had lunch here many times while visiting the museum. Lunch yesterday was a big disappointment. The crust of the toasted bread underneath the smoked salmon was so hard I could not cut it, even after requesting a sharper knife. Service was very slow even though there were quite a few servers circulating around the outdoor and indoor dining spaces. Although convenient when visiting LACMA, I hesitate to dine here again.
A good friend I hadn't seen in months and I had a lovely dinner on Friday night. There was a jazz band playing which was wonderful, but it was so loud we found it hard to talk…so the noise made conversation a bit trying-- but the people watching (made us both fall in love with LA again!), the service, and the food were all great!
The prices are outrageous compared to the size, taste and appearance of the food. $24 burger has cold fries, the $28 lobster salad had very little lobster and too much lettuce.
Their pizza is good but usually takes a long time. It is a shame that for the only restaurant at LACMA, they should have better tasting food, amount of food and prices.
We will not go back.
was really excited about coming here, had been once before. food was avg, sent desert back cause it was terrible. great service.
