Rasika is becoming a victim of its own hype. Yes, the spinach appetizer was very tasty, but the seasoning for the chicken entrée was pedestrian. The portions also were not generous. Getting two small pieces of naan for $4 does not meet anyone's definition of a bargain. The service was impeccable and the decor was attractive, but the seat was uncomfortable. Also marring the dining experience was a fire alarm that remained blaring for 10 minutes. In all, Rasika was good, but far from the greatness I had expected.

Excellent dinner! Appetizers: Avocado banana chaat was fantastic (I am going to try and make it at home!) , ragda pattice also excellent. Mixed grill and chicken tikka masala were terrific, very flavorful and well presented. Naan and paratha very good. Beautiful restaurant inside. Server a bit abrupt and curt at the beginning of the meal and when taking our order, but seemed nicer as dinner progressed (they were pretty busy even tho it was only 6:15). Manager stopped by at least twice to make sure everything was as it should be.

Food is good (probably the best Indian food in DC) but I think that says more about DC than it does about Rasika.

Consistent excellence. You can always expect terrific recommendations from the waiter. We explored the menu with some different options, but still had to get the always perfect Tikka Masala. Rasika never disappoints.

Feeling good that we were able to get in only few days out. It was wonderful and worth the late night reservation. Great flavors. Would definitely return and recommend. Taxi right there to take us to hotel.

The food here is absolutely remarkable. It has great ambiance. However, I came to eat in Jeans and a collared shirt and felt as though I was a peasant! The service was horrible! Our waiter spoke to us in a very condescending manner, and I wanted to get up and leave. I have never been treated like this before. I am from Park City, Utah and I am very familiar with fine dining. I was so turned off by the judgement we received. If you go here, you will love the food. Just beware, if your nose isn't pointing towards the ceiling, you will be treated as a second class citizen.

My friend's review after her first visit: The famous dish there is palak chaat, which is crispy spinach with yogurt and date and tamarind chutney. It is amazingly good and lived up to its reputation. That was followed by lamb achari, which was decently spicy and very tender, but felt a bit heavy. It came with rice and a mint paratha, which was good, but the flavor of the mint was kind of drowned out by the spices of the lamb. I also had a champagne cocktail, which was okay, but did not have as much ginger flavor as the menu had led me to believe. For dessert, there was excellent gulab jamun with amazing cardamom ice cream. Overall, it was a good meal, though I would order a different main course if I went again.

We are visiting from Charleston, SC. Oh, how I wish we had an Indian restaurant of this caliber! The pepper crab was amazing as was the mango shrimp. The chicken tikka masala accompanied by dum ki subzi were top notch. And topped off with the apple jalebi and cardamom ice cream, I cannot Imagine a better meal in the Universe. Thank you!
