We have a temperature controlled wine cellar, offer small plates and a modern lounge.
What Insiders Are Saying
One of the best options for both Indian and a fine dining experience in the city.
It was excellent , will go back next time I am in DC
Rasika is the BEST!! From the moment you walk in the door, you feel you are in Vikram's welcomed table. Namaste, jt
Fabulous service. Excellent menu recommendations. Perfect table to enjoy family dinner conversation. The staff specially recognized my husband’s birthday after I made a simple off-handed comment about it over the telephone. Perfect touch to a perfect evening.
Visiting from California. Second time at Rasika. Loves it both times!!
Incredible food. Excellent service.
Perfect quiet but not-at-all-stuffy ambiance for four friends to chat. We ordered a wide variety (oven, fish, meat, vegetarian) and shared among the four of us. The waiter was very helpful and eager to talk about the food, the restaurant and even some Indian cultural history regarding the various dishes. A wonderful experience!
We were four people Nd all enjoyed our meal. Our waiter helped
Guide us with the specials. The fried spinach appetizer was
The best I have ever eaten . The fish was tasty and fresh . The atmosphere was pleasant . We sat on area with table cloths .
The food and service was great. Chris was our server and he was outstanding. He recommended food items for us that we would’ve never selected but was very delicious. I will definitely return.
we always have a great time at Rasika -- we often take folks who have not dined there before and their reactions are constantly positive - "best Indian food I've ever eaten" often said. Keep doing what you're doing. The food is delicious and the service unparalleled.
My first visit was worth the wait, but I will not be waiting to go back. I started with the Mumbai Manhattan as it was a snowy evening. Delicious. From there, with our server's excellent guidance, we ordered a number of dishes to share, each with its own distinct and wonderful taste. It was a dinner with deep layers of flavor and delightful smells. Highly recommend at all levels.
I've been to this restaurant so many times and I love this restaurant. But this was the first time that I didn't enjoy myself. The Palak Chat was oily and cold and didnt have the right balance of flavor. The tandoori salmon was also cold, the portion was much smaller than usual, it was not cooked over a warm fire, and it wasnt the normal Scottish salmon they normally serve. Lastly, they took my favorite dessert of the menu, the date toffee pudding, which is everyone's favorite. So, perhaps after 10 years of eating here, it is time to find a new favorite spot.
My first to dine at Rasika. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, service, and atmosphere. I will definitely return in another occasion.
As always , Excellent food, service & atmosphere.
Is this Indian food or not? I don’t care. It is delicious, plus wonderful service and a pleasant atmosphere. No surprise that reservations are so hard to get
Rasika sets the standard for Palak Chat and their lentil dishes. This visit we tried a few new dishes and all were exquisite. We sat in a back room towards the Wooly Mammoth, which was lacking in ambiance but other than that and the extended wait for the table, the evening was great.
Exceptional dining experience. Food was memorable, service was outstanding friendly but not intrusive. Variety of offerings was impressive and everything we tried was excellent. Terrific variety of flavors, and explanations were offered and straightforward. Highly recommended.
Went to Rasika for restaurant week. What a great deal. The food was terrific and plentiful and the staff was helpful and attentive. The crispy spinach appetizer and the coconut caramel pudding dessert were the standouts.
Tom Sietsema calls Rasika the best Indian restaurant in the country. While I haven't had his vast experience, I bet he's right. Rasika never fails. I love it.
This place was amazing! I had heard good things and this place did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back
Excellent value for Restaurant Werk. Several favorites included in the many choices on the menu
Went during restaurant week. Great food. Great server. Very nice spot.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory!
We were upsold for a lackluster lukewarm fish dish. Spinach was good. Chicken dish and cauliflower dish was overdone and it took forever for our food to arrive. So much that we had to rush to catch our 7pm show. Overall not worth the hype. We know it’s one of DC’s esteemed restaurants but...Also a lot of staff just standing around staring at the diners.
The service, food and ambiance were impeccable. We had the cod and it had a hint of anise- delicious. The waiters suggestions were perfect. We sat in the front room to the right of the door- a table away from the window. The wait staff were very attentive j kind, but never rushed us.
I wish I could go every week!
Impeccable service! Enjoyed the famous spinach appetizer. As always. Everyone enjoyed their meal..fish, duck and lamb! Sweet surprise for the birthday boy...a special evening for all!
I love the food! I am from India so finding authentic Indian food is pretty hard to find. This place blew me away. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it. It is a great place to take your spouse if you want a quiet place to eat.
Everyone took great care of us. The food was amazing as always!
Phenomenal food and experience! Customer service is top notch as well as ambience.
My favorite Indian restaurant in the DC area. Chicken Biryani and Mixed Grill are amazing, finished off with a nice Sauternes for dessert.
The food and service was excellent. We particularly like the lamb and vegan dishes. The waiter was very friendly and steered us to a very excellent meal.
Great experience and good recommendations from our waiter
Absolutely wonderful! Well worth the expense. The staff made us feel special.
I had the four course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was outstanding. The dessert was excellent. I recommend this restaurant highly
We don't like the table which address us to sit. Apart from that, we like it.
Best restaurant in DC imho, hands down. Had the weekday tasting menu and everything was spectacular.
Comparatively miserly food-portions with respect to cost , marginally sized table , toned-down spiciness, no kids menu. Otherwise the experience for a group size of 3 or 4 could have been a bit better.
My husband and I have been wanting to try this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. Great location, ambiance and food. We’ll definitely go back.
I tasted flavors I've never tasted before and the venue is beautiful. Worth all the praise.
We held a celebration for our niece, who was sworn-in for her second term in the US Senate. The accommodation for our party of 8 was superb, a quiet nook in the busy restaurant. Despite the party including vegans, vegetarians and carnivores, menu items were available to suit all tastes. Everyone particularly enjoyed the outstanding Palak Chaat!
Rasika is simply the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. And it has maintained this level of quality over years. I'll be back.
