One of the best options for both Indian and a fine dining experience in the city.
Amazing food with great service, you have to get the Palak chaat and onion and sage naan!
This was our first visit. Our waiter provided excellent suggestions. The four of us were very pleased and look forward to returning.
Food was excellent and great variety. Met all of our need since we had vegan, vegetarians, and gluten-free eaters in our group. Great for foodies.
Delicious food, left a lasting impression and I know I will be back.
Best Indian food I had in the US.
Just fabulous flavors and drinks...highly recommend the Uttapam.
Jason provided us with recommendations, since my date did not like spicy food. We told him our likes and his recommendations were spot on! He took impeccable care of us! We will definitely be back for the fried salad & garlic naan.
Absolutely loved this place! The food here was so amazing ..I feel this even beats any fine dinning Indian restaurant in India.
Looking forward to visiting it again ..
Every dish we ordered with fish was cooked perfectly.
Eating at Rasika is like eating at the home of an Indian family with an incredible cook in the kitchen. Every -- and I do mean every -- course is somehow both refined and homey. Every course is delicious. And when you move through appetizers (be sure to share) then entrees then deserts, you gradually realize that you are having nothing short of a feast.
Service was fast, courteous, and well timed. The food was phenomenal- we went twice in a five day trip to DC. The crispy spinach is as good, if not better, as all the reviews say. We also particularly enjoyed the goat biryani and the red snapper dishes. The restaurant itself is lovely, with the noise level staying at that perfect buzz of happy diners. We will be back next time we visit the city!
Food was amazing!! Highly recommend!!
What a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day with an excellent meal from Rasika! Four of us got the 4 or 6 course tasting menu. Great service and so tasty! Can not wait til our next visit. This is a must go place!
It was terrific! We really enjoyed the food and the service (Todd our waiter) was great. Thanks!
The Red Snapper was delicious!
Great food, very nice setting, high quality.
I'm a longtime fan of Rasika West End, but this was my first time trying this location! Even though it's harder to get a reservation at this location, I think I prefer the young, hip, yet Indian feel of the west end location a little more. That being said, food and service were both great!
Because of Mother’s Day, the restaurant had a prix fixe menu. I was not made aware of that fact until I arrived. The restaurant had let me know that there was a cancellation fee. Long story short, great food. But do I think it was worth $50 per person plus drinks? No. I found the prix fixe concept plus cancellation fee to be obnoxious. They did it because they could. Notice from Open Table would have been helpful.
Wonderful venue for Mother’s Day brunch. Great service and innovative and fresh interpretations of wonderful Indian dishes.
Always phenomenal food and service
Not a big fan of Indian food but this place continues to amaze. Top 5 overall restaurant in DC. Fried spinach and Dover sole appetizers were amazing as were green chicken and duck vindaloo entrees. Friendly but professional service. Great meal.
Food was fabulous! Our waiter made many helpful recommendations and the host was a lot of fun!
I hit Rasika every time I am in DC, and it never disappoints. The crispy spinach salad is phenomenal. The lentils as a side dish are also very good.
If you can't get a reservation until late at night, you can try arriving early and sitting at the bar (first come, first serve seating). Bartenders are great, and very knowledgeable about the food menu.
We might have ordered the wrong things but the food was underwhelming. Palak chaat was good but only for a few bites, black cod tasted good but was oddly fatty and needed a knife to eat it, chicken Tikka masala, naan and rice weren’t very good. Based on all of the reviews was expecting a different experience. Unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype.
Rasika is reasonably priced (mains from $20-$32) for what it offers, which is wonderful service, delicious flavors, and a great location right downtown. A tip - you can ask to have the lamb shank and a piece of the black cod plated together so you don’t have to chose between two of the best (non-curry) meals on the menu!
Our fourth time at Rasika. We always look forward to our return trips now that we've moved out of DC. The food and service are outstanding. You must get the Palak Chat as an appetizer, then choose anything else for your entrees and sides- you can't go wrong. So happy that chefs don't spare on the spicing- just amazing food.
Love Rasika as much as ever! My husband and I came to celebrate our birthdays with a long lunch. The service and food were excellent as always, and our waiter made sure the tasting menu would accommodate my husband’s vegetarian diet.
As usual: Awesome place!!
I went there with a colleague who's never been to Rasika. It was great!
Everything was perfect!
A return visit after a long spell of not being there. Server was wonderfully attentive, and food delicious and as always, interesting. Wish the menu could be a bit longer, with lighter entrees.
I loved Rasika, the service was great and the server recommended a wonderful combination of appetizers and entrees to share among the 3 of us!
Rasika uses such complex spices that every bite is wonderful and tasty. All items are good but the Cauliflower Bezule and Spinach are out of this world.
Very creative appetizer selection and very authentic main courses. Loved the experience!
As always, excellent food, service and ambiance. Great early Mother's Day dinner.
Don’t want to go back there. Rasika is getting unreasonably expensive. Ordered three tandoori lamb chops for astronomical price ($42) without any side dish for the money, not even a piece of carrot next to the lamb chop. Ordered side dishes, got too much sauce and only a moderate amount of substance (i.e. vegetables and lentils). Too many waiters who often stand by the walls talking to each other instead of advising and serving customers, had to pour sparkling water myself. Not going to pay anymore for this type of food and service.
Nothing could have been better during our evening at Rasika. The server, Blake, was well informed about the menu and paid just enough attention to us without being a pain. I had the red snapper Moelli ; very delicious and the fish was not overcooked.
Would highly recommend the four course tasting menu. The flavors and textures are phenomenal. Gustavo was an excellent server, who was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to make our experience great.
Really fast service at lunch time. Three veggie side dishes make a great meal to share for two. The saag is way too salty!
I have been to Rasika and I was very surprised that the level of spiciness could not be modified at all. I was told that the food was pre-prepared and in a restaurant of this standing, I was expecting better. Overall, reasonable experience!
