Rancho Santa Fe Bistro
Owner / Chef Mozy Jahanguiri, who has run restaurants in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Dallas, has opened The Rancho Santa Fe Bistro in the space formerly occupied by The Pantry on Paseo Delicias. Mozy has prepared a menu that offers a wide variety of healthy smoothies and juices, along with bistro favorites including grass fed sirloin burgers, a salmon BLT, baked brie with grapes, and more. Be sure to check out Bistro's beautiful wood wine cellar, housing an extensive collection that spans an impressive 100 years (1897-1997) at a variety of price points.

Excellent service and food. A couple wines we ordered were not available, but overall it was nice on the patio and felt safe eating outdoors.
Rancho Santa Fe Bistro never fails to deliver excellent food -- and wine! The menu is diverse and the chef does a great job. It's a local restaurant for us so it's one of the places we frequent on a regular basis. Everything has been outstanding.
We love the bistro for lunch or dinner! Their outdoor dining is delightful, pick the side patio for privacy - it's like eating in someone's private gardens. The owner is there to check up on how everything is going. All the apps are great, especially the baked brie. The chicken piccata is excellent! We've enjoyed every entree and the one dessert that we've had - the cherries jubilee. The wine list is reasonable, with plenty of choices. My only quibble: the soups are oddly spiced, even the french onion soup tastes odd. But will recommend everything else.
4/21 - Very enjoyable experience, food and service !
Charming, intimate, European style dining in Rancho Santa Fe. Food is consistently good, a menu with something for everyone, relaxing setting and attentive service. I highly recommend this spot for an evening out with friends and/or family.
Beautiful garden setting ideal for romantic dinner. Eclectic decor and homey style food.
A very cute & small place. But they do pack you in outside on the very pretty patio. This was a concern since there were very loud diners as well as 2 caged song birds. Food was very good, everyone in our family enjoyed their dishes which included the pasta, 2 different salads and the flatiron steak.
The ambience was lovely and the hostess very friendly but the overall experience left us quite underwhelmed. Our server was not attentive. The food was average at best and lacked presentation. Honestly it felt like a homecooked meal rather than a dining out experience and the food did not live up to the prices. We will not return.
I was recommended to this lovely Bistro from a dear friend and have brought others to join me ! It is a lovely little sidewalk Bistro in the middle of Rancho Santa Fe. Easy access and street parking .
Numerous table on the patio along with indoor seating . The service is polite and patient , very knowledgeable about the menu . We highly recommend the sole - perfect and light . A touch of Mediterranean flair but not over the top . Wine list is amazing . Would hesitate with children but awesome for couples night out !
Nice individually owned restaurant with a charming outdoor patio in the summer they have their canaries out there singing away. The food is good the menu is small and the experience is very very pleasant
We loved the place! We will definitely be back and bring friends.
Wonderful meal! Our first time at this restaurant, and we will be back! Owner was there and was very charming! Food and wine were superb!
Lovely patio setting. Birds are a great add. Great service and food.
Wonderful restaurant! Great ambiance, service and food! Singing birds an extra delight!
Caesar Salad was horrible. Water logged shredded chicken. Over priced. Sweet potato fries were cold when served. Disappointing overall.
Our favorite dated night spot!
Very nice place to brunch. The outdoor patio was very cute with colorful birds in cages all around and lots of plants and flowers. It was like eating in a garden. The inside is small but has some seating as well that was open even during COVID restrictions. They played French music, which was a nice touch. We had the steak and eggs and it was so good! The steak was a filet mignon, so way better than your average everyday steak and eggs. My husband kept raving about the eggs too. Definitely will be back again.
Delicious food, friendly staff, comfortable and casual environment.
Delicious food, inviting ambiance and wonderful service. I'll definitely dine at The Bistro again.
We dined outside Shortly after we arrived, the patio filled up. Despite how busy our server was he was still very attentive and personable. The food was great and the menu very extensive. We plan on returning soon.
Food was okay - tables were way too close to each other.
I particularly appreciate the friendly server!!
She was very attentive!!
Enjoyed eating by the window looking at the lovely patio.
Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday.
Small menu but good choices. Did not disappoint.
Polite waitress and good atmosphere.
RSF Bistro has become a "go to" for us. Lovely hosts and servers. EXCELLENT food. Good wine selection and sane prices. Go there!
Great neighborhood gem. Very nice owners. Romantic and cozy.
Lovely outdoor dining area. All the more enjoyable with the singing birds in the cages on the patio. However, service was very slow. Waited for initial glasses of wine and extended wait for refills. Entree very slow to be delivered and had already started to cool. Restaurant was not crowded. Ribeye steak was one of worst I have ever had, extremely fatty and I know some fat is good. When I was finished, half my plate was covered in unedible fat and the waitress asked if I wanted a "to go box" - unbelievable!
The most lovely bistro with owners that are delightful, great food, great drink, and very relaxing environment.
This is one of the best places I have ever been to. The food was excellent and the ambience was very welcoming.
Wonderful post Valentine’s Day lunch. Excellent in every way.
Great filet and wine selection
Wonderful experience, amazing food and service
Stars shine and talk...thank you. Fara
Have been to Rancho Santa Fe Bistro several times before, has always been kind of hit-and-miss in terms of the (slow) service, but food was usually okay.
On this occasion, the service was way worse than ever, it took almost an hour an a half to get our entrees, and then they were prepared wrong and very lacking.
Will not be returning unfortunately.
Nice salads. The bass special was good and I love the salmon
We really like the Bistro. The food is consistently good, the wines excellent, and the waitstaff knowledgable and friendly. Love the atmosphere there too! My salmon was a little over-cooked, but other than that, everything was perfect. Try the apple pie. Crazy good.
Ambiance, food and service wonderful!!
The food here was good. Good duck entree, great Caesar Salad, fantastic Brie App and amazing French Onion Soup. The service was great. They were very hospitable and kind. The ambience is wonky. This restaurant is very dusty with cob webs in the corners of the restaurant. They would do well to clear out the hoarded 50 years of junk and re-invent the space. It feels dirty and like sitting in a hoarders den. The outside is nice however. Anyway, we won't go back here unless we hear it's been thoroughly cleaned and re-vamped. It's one thing for a place to feel "homey" but this is beyond that...If we were to return before that, we would definitely sit outside.
We love this place. There is an above average wait for food but a sign of the times
As always, the Bistro was DELICIOUS!
It is always a lovely experience to dine there and never disappoints!
The owners and staff are always welcoming and attentive and the menu and food is delicious! There garden dining terrace is perfect for these COVID days, and we dined very comfortably by well- placed heaters! Rancho Santa Fe is very lucky they are there!
My family has been dining her for years. we bring all of our guests here. The best
Made the reservation with special occasion anniversary which wasn't acknowledged. Service was faster than we really wanted. Food (sea bass and lamb chops) was great. Tiramasu was small but excellent.
