I marked their food as poor because it’s a bar and they don’t serve food. The drinks we awesome though.
I wrote a very extensive review very favorably extolling the virtues of RBW, but at the point where I attached a picture for my review --- the system froze up and I was unable to continue on with my review. When I tried to go back, I had to start over from scratch.
I don't have the time to go back and re-write all of that. It's a bummer that it got lost, because my review was very very detailed and exceptionally positive.
What a showstopper! Beautiful place. Loved every minute.
Very good ambiance, good drinks, overall a stunning place.
Food should be N/A, they are drinks only! This is a great place for a hang out, cocktails with friends, or a date.
We absolutely love this spot! Try every cocktail you can, you won’t be disappointed. The mood this time was chill. There are times, depending on the crowd, where it can get loud, but this time was perfect! We were able to chat without yelling, so it was a great get together. Just me mindful that this is not always the case.
No food. Decor was over and beyond gorgeous. Can't wait to go back!!
Waitress was snooty. Just a chill atmosphere. People sitting around. Music was ok. Only best part was the revolving wall.
Incredible staff. The coolest ambiance and really good drinks, expensive, but that was expected! Such a cool experience, I’d recommend this place to anyone!
There’s no food so probably shouldn’t be a rating category for this place. The ambience is for sure the best part. It’s a very cool speakeasy with lovely decor and touches inside and out. Service was good, drink prices were very fair. Craft cocktails which for me are not the most exciting since they’re kind of overdone. However, except for my original drink the Paloma which tasted like a salt lick everyone else’s were good. I switched to a bourbon drink it was a little sweet and every drink was very heavy handed on the ice. It’s a good place to impress someone from out of town or a first date nightcap. Not sure anyone would spend tons of time here since it’s always crowded you need a reservation, it’s in a mall, and there’s no food. It’s a bit loud too. It was really pretty though. I would come back but it’s not ever going to be a go to place or have a lot of regulars.
Beautiful Setting, Nice Service- would have been nice to have a hot drink on a cold rainy night.
NO Irish coffee -the week of St. Patricks?
We took our son to Raised by Wolves for a birthday drink. We had a great time. We enjoyed the unique way we entered the bar and really appreciated actually being seated, rather than having to scrounge for a place at the bar. The drink menu provided something for everyone. We all enjoyed our drinks and the ambiance. Only criticism.....we were seated at a curved booth which comfortably seated three. Our 4th person was given an incredibly uncomfortable 3-legged chair that almost tipped over twice, and that was before we had our drinks. The ridge along the edge of the chair was narrow and cut into his leg (and he's a thin guy) Please get rid of it for the safety of future patrons and to avoid potential law suits.
Always love taking friends here. Christian was wonderful!
Great place for utc area. Hope it lasts.
Vibrant energetic decor and unique speak easy entry. Happy to have had an OpenTable reservation because the line was out the door! Good to know- there is NO food and drinks are fancy. Only 2 red wines were avail and 5 beers so this is really a place to go for special drinks.
Very fun, unique and great service and drinks! I would recommend making reservations way in advance
Awesome drink selection, but not the best service. Service doesn’t really matter to me because i’m just ordering drinks but it might bother some.
Unique experience, gorgeous decorating. Drinks were creative but pricey and it would be nice if they had an appetizer menu. Our server was informative about different liquors which was helpful. The setting is so beautiful and ornate but beware the noise level is loud.
The atmosphere is incredible
The service is polite but kind of act like they got cast off a hipster teen Netflix show
The drinks are cute but I’ve had better
If you like Harry Potter, this place looks like a swank version of the girls bathroom where the basilisk lives
No food or snacks. But love this spot for drinks!
It was fun to visit although the spinning fireplace makes you feel as if you are entering a ride at Disney. But it has the effect they are looking to establish - intrigues everyone to want to know what is on the other side! It was our first time and was OK, I'm glad I went but wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Would I recommend it to others to experience? Yes.
The drinks were unique and good, but I was expecting great. (I also was expecting a lot more options of Bourbon/Whiskey but those were rather few on the menu. How about a signature Old Fashioned that isn't $700?) The menu cover was very cool, but the inside was an ill designed, awkward to open and read, pink card stock. I'm sure they did this so they could change the menu often. But anyone with a tiny bit of design knowledge could make it look (and function) much better. New laws in California don't allow regular straws, but I'd rather receive nothing than a large paper straw ala a children's party. The interior is decorated very cool with a gorgeous bar in the center. (Which is why the pink card stock menu and paper kids party straws seemed so odd.)
Our party of six was given a cocktail table that we were barely able to hold a water and cocktail for each person. The crowd was everything from mall shoppers to out of town visitors to college kids - random. Again, glad I went, would definitely recommend for others to go once, but not sure if I'd go out of my way to go back.
Drinks were great. Service was lacking. We had to flag our waitress down 3 times for water and drinks.
This place was someone's outstanding idea. The entrance through the revolving wall set the tone. Our server was either not in a good mood or just doesn't enjoy her job. She did not add to our experience. The decor is fabulous. We're from CT and wonder if that type of concept would work in New England. Probably not. Maybe in Fairfield County which is close to NYC. The drinks were pricey but not steep. Unfortunatey, I'm basically a wine sipper so I had a bit of a hangover the next day. Well worth it.
I was so excited to check this place out, especially since we had a reservation. There were several other reservations at the same time as ours, so we still had to wait about 10 minutes. That wouldn't had been an issue, if it wasn't SO crowded inside. They should definitely have a maximum of people in there. It was so crowded It was difficult to walk to the restroom. Should definitely be a reservation only establishment. Also, because it was so busy and crowded on the floor, our waitress often didn't come back to us for 30+ minutes.
Next time we won't be going back on a Saturday, even with a reservation.
I had heard so much about this spot. I expected a more classy experience. Instead it smelled like Booze spilt on the floor and was incredibly loud. Definitely more of a bar than a nice place to get a good cocktail. I was also aware it would be themed as a “speak easy.” Which was way more gimmicky then an authentic fun experience. You wait in a tiny lobby/store front with tons of other people like as if your boarding a ride at Disneyland. That immediately took the appeal away. The staff also seemed miserable. Our waitress was the worst. On a positive note. The drinks were great 👍🏻
I enjoy this concept and the space is really cool. service this evening was awful. First off the host didn't have my reservation on file, but he said he was able to "seat us" at a table anyway. Our server was awful, not very friendly at all and she forgot my beer order and left drinks at the server line waiting for at least 10 minutes. No apologies, or anything. I won't be back for awhile. There's other speakeasy's that offer better service.
Disappointed that they had no snack or bar food.
Had a great experience for the first time here recommended to al my friends .. the sneaky feel was the best part
Our third anniversary; loved it and would definitely come back!
Great place for awesome drinks and atmosphere!
Perfect dimmed lighting, detailed decor and low rumbling conversations sweep you away to the 1920s when you enter through the mysterious revolving fireplace. The drinks are strong and well put together and the menu is vast with plenty of options (including a surprisingly enticing list of non-alcoholic beverages). The staff are highly knowledgeable on the menu and history of the era and era-specific drinks especially. There is no food served so this is a fantastic spot to head to after dinner for some delicious drinks on a date or with a small group of friends. If you want to sit, reservations are a must. There is limited bar seating with a good deal of standing area, but the charming table areas are for reservation only and the drinks are so good they'll knock you off your feet and you'll really appreciate those 1920s inspired seating arrangements!
Was not expecting drinks to have been premixed. Bar is beautiful though.
Was awesome and they were very accommodating. We had 2 reservations, one for 8 people and another for 5 people, and they were able to sit all 13 of us together. Drinks were great and our server was so nice.
The ambiance is fantastic. I was a huge fan of the center bar with the fountain in the middle with the bookcases on the sides of the room. However, the drinks we got were totally unbalanced, which is a shame because the drinks are always on point at their sister bar (Polite Provisions). The Bitter Bramble wasn’t mixed properly so that the drink tasted completely different depending if you took a sip at the top or the bottom of the drink, which might have been acceptable if you were given a straw that could actually be used to mix the drink instead of the paper save-the-turtle straws that last for approximately one stir. It’s also quite possible that they forgot to add the simple syrup, as the drink was on the very sour end of the spectrum. The Rattlesnake Venom was a bit better of a drink, but the pineapple juice dominated the flavor profile, completely obscuring the medjool dates and Amaro Nonino. It sounded like a very interesting drink on paper, but what was served tasted pretty basic. All in all, go for the sights, but not the drinks.
Fun lively place for a drink in a beautiful setting.
There aren't many cocktail lounges on this level of ambiance or quality in this particular area of San Diego. It's a welcome addition to the UTC area for people who don't want to drive all the way into downtown La Jolla or the Gaslamp for some quality drinks and lounge experience.
No food available but plenty of drink options!!
It’s a really cool place to visit or take visiting guest. It’s kind of like an adult Disney place. I really liked the decorations. The drinks were strong and staff was excellent. I know they very clearly only have drinks... but i wish there was a small kitchen, or some small bar snacks. I probably could have drank more if there was food. Nice place though!
Made reservations and out table was awaiting our arrival. Fun ambiance. Drinks were yummy. As the designated driver I enjoyed the non alcoholic selection. Staff is super friendly and we enjoyed shopping before our reservations from their variety of hard to find alcohol and mixers. Will be coming back.
