What a place, being going for years. A little different with the outdoor setup but the food is excellent, as always.
Great outside dining for lunch. Waiter was helpful with suggestions and food was very good and fresh. Loved our taco combos.
Good service & good food ...a little pricey but its goo! Unlimited chips with good salsa ...best quality fish & lobster tacos ! Very good wine !
Food quality was great. Service was great as well. Highly recommend.
The food is delicious here. We come every time we are in the San Diego area.
Puesto’s food is to die for! The lobster tacos are a dream come true. Wood fired enchiladas are insanely flavorful. Best meal I’ve had in ages!
Great for date night! Delicious flavors, loved the upscale tacos. It felt pricer than comparable restaurants, especially for drinks.
First time in La Jolla. This place was delicious. Great service.
Great food great service out door dining is very nice!
Greta wine, great service and the splendid 3 taco package of the 3 trophy winners. Could not have had a better meal or better service. Brilliant!
Delicious food! Great ambiance! Friendly staff! We enjoyed it!
These were some of the best tacos I have EVER had.
They seemed short-staffed but understandable given the pandemic. Sat outside on the deck in a corner table, it wasn't too noisy and the umbrellas provided enough shade. I felt comfortable and safe!
My first time here at Puesto La Jolla, made a reservation, arrived a little early. Not a long wait, service was quick and the food was delicious. I had the lobster tacos; my date had the Shrimp bowl. We had the Mango Shrimp appetizer, very good, and the Tres Leche dessert. Meal was excellent.
Fabulous happy hour, delicious tacos, the best margaritas
Great food and great service, can't wait to go back!
We got seated right at our reservation time. Food & drinks were great!
Good food, staff was great. Would def visit again!
great food ruined by terrible service. slow, inconsiderate, and incompetent. a shame, because the tacos were wonderful. i might give it another chance, but if I'm greeted by the same level of service, well, that's it.
Great food and great service
Service was not good this night. I have been at this local about a dozen time before and always gotten good service. It took too long to get the food and had to flag the waiter 3 times to get the check and box for leftovers. Finally another one waiter helped out. Waiter seemed overwhelmed with covering his all tables.
Visiting La Jolla for my birthday but unfamiliar in the age of Covid which restaurants were open or offered outside dining. Puesto came up as we did a search. They accepted advance reservations, sat us right on time and had a good menu of offering. My husband and I chose the 3 taco plate for $19. All were tasty but the sirloin taco was especially good. Pricing was a bit misleading as there was a $2 upcharge for Sirloin tacos (and 1 of the other choices we made which made each of our dinners $23 instead of $19). I don't recall seeing the prices for each individual taco listed on the menu but that could be my oversight. All in all the dinner and service were good. It's not easy to create ambiance when you're eating outside on a public road but we never felt like we were in fact eating in the street. They did a nice job of creating an outdoor patio like space for diners. Important to note their guacamole was creamy versus chunky and was SUPER delicious! We've talked about it since we got home. Next time we're in La Jolla, we're coming back!
Food was awesome! Service was great.
You've adapted to outside only dining beautifully. Thank you!
This place was awesome and the tacos are delicious!!
The potato taquitos were amazing and the drinks were great...
Seen great reviews on this restaurant and since we were able to make a reasonable time for reservations, we decided to try it out. I wish I knew the name of our server because she was rude, but I mean most of the employees seemed snooty, besides the girl who was at the front seating and our “new” server for the last 10 minutes of our stay. They don’t offer kids menu, which threw me off because I checked online before even deciding to make the reservation. We had pacific sea bass “ceviche” which was ok. The chicken tacquitos were surprisingly pretty amazing and crispy and the guacamole was delicious & spicy. I did get my order wrong, which was a mix & match of 3 tacos, but only got 2/3 that I asked for. (In which I kept to myself). Again, they only had ONE of the 3 agua frescas that was on the menu, but luckily it was delicious!!! (Mango-limon)
I just have to throw it out here, but after ordering our meal there was an incident that occurred on 8/29. Some psycho drove past & started yelling at at 3 groups of people dining at Puesto. Me being the 2nd. I don’t appreciate the LACK OF URGENCY the staff didn’t take. They all just ignored the psycho, in which I’m gonna add, GOT OFF HIS CAR & continued to yell now at a 3rd family, in which included 2 kids. After the psycho drove off everyone resumed whatever they were doing. I had to bring it to an employee’s attention to confirm if anyone in the restaurant had notified the police. But no, he had no clue what had happened. It’s very disappointing that the staff just shrugged it off like it was a normal, everyday thing. No reassurance for the paying customers. We quickly ate and left before the psycho decided to come back. Worst experience of my life!
So good, we love it so much. We will be going back for sure
Really good food love the Birria taco and the esquites
Poor service. Food wasn't anything to write home about. Not terrible. Not great.
Puesto is hands down our favorite taco spot/just overall restaurant! Totally worth the drive from Encinitas to La Jolla. The tacos never disappoint, the margs are always delicious and the staff is super nice every time. We can’t wait to come back again :)
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait as there is limited seating. As soon as you are seated they inform you there is a maximum of 90 min you can sit as they have other reservations due to their limited seating. Probably should have a small sign on the table as a suggestion and most people will follow. You feel rushed as soon as you are seated. Their cleanliness practices are very good as i saw them wiping mostly everything down Thoroughly and servers changing their gloves often. I ordered the filet mignon tacos and substituted the tortillas with lettuce and it was Delicious! My son ordered the taquitos and they were ok, could have been tastier. The guacamole was just okay also but fresh. Value of food is good but the San Diego location has a much better atmosphere and feel the food is tastier.
Literally the best tacos I have ever eaten!
Always love going to Puesto when we get to La Jolla. Their guacamole with Parmesan is awesome-always get that. We compliment with other options on the menu that are all delicious. Everyone is so friendly and we love the new deck they built and hope they can keep! Kyle was great!
The patio was very enjoyable and it was a beautiful night. The food was the same as usual. A bit pricey for margs & tacos but the patio made up for it!
Wonderful staff and food is devine
