The. Very. Best. What more do you need to know?
We very much enjoyed our anniversary meal at Providence. Would highly recommend to others for special occasion. Food was stellar! I am not a fan of lengthy course meals but loved out experience becaus all the courses were light and delicately seasoned. No heavy-hand w preparation. Fresh, quality ingredients were left to shine. We did wine pairing and some add-ons and left satiated but not full in a gross way. Each dish was unique and presented beautifully. And timing of each course was spot-on. Price-wise it was high end of the spectrum but we both felt good quality was worth it. Only improvement would be the service from our main server and the 2 gentlemen at front felt short and cursory. Rest of the staff however were excellent and caring, therefore 4 stars for service rather than 3. I noted anniversary in our reservation and the staff who called day before had confirmed it is aan anniversary dinner. We were delighted to receive a menu which read Happy Anniversay but our server never mentioned anniversary throughout the meal. And when I asked about wines in the pairing he flippantly said well it's mostly white with 1 red. Excuse me? I think even a local chain restaurant would have given a more detailed explanation. My husband finally had to ask later how many wines do we have left to go. Also, he did not explain the first few items we got were amuse-bouche. My husband asked what are these and I told him maybe its amuse-bouche? It was confirmed when the server later explained to the next couple. I hate to think like this but could not help but wonder whether it's discrimination although the server was a person of color as well. In summary, kitchen and most of dining room staff doing exceptional job but those in position of first impression and most contact with customer did not exude warm hospitality at all. Kudos to rest of the staff who are working very hard to ensure dining at Providence is something special.
Delicious and stunning, the food is beautiful and tastes even better!
Providence is still one of the best restaurants in LA. The service, ambiance and delicious food is top notch. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!
This was the best night of all the nights!! My best friend and I came to celebrate my 30th birthday and from the moment we stepped in, it was just absolutely wonderful. Beautiful, kind and warmhearted staff, lovely music (lots of great throwback songs ah!) and the food was just haha, THAT BREAD!!! We shouldn't have had that bread lol we were so full! It was a stunning night, thank you so very much for being a part of my birthday! <3 All the best! Can't wait to go back!!! -B
We’ve been to this restaurant many times before and I have to say the food this time really wasn’t as good as we’ve had in the past. While, I’m all for creatively using herbs and spices, they shouldn’t overwhelm the main ingredient, but that was often the case last night. Too much mint, too much basil and too much vinegar all around. The service is still exceptional, the staff truly excellent, as are many of the dishes, overall I miss the old approach to food which made the main ingredient shine.
By far the best dining experience iv ever had. Iv worked in food & beverage for 16 years, the service here is very polished. The entire restaurant acts as one solid unit designed to ensure a perfect dining experience. Something that is missing from many fine dining restaurants.
The food was meticulously made to perfection. I am not a fan of seafood at all, but Providence has opened my mind to this cuisine. My only concern with this establishment is the new standard it has created for all other seafood I will ever eat. Will any other restaurant be able to live up to my new expectations that Chef Michael Cimarusti has created? I don't know, but I look forward to finding out.
Thank you for the absolutely beautiful meal!
We hadn’t eaten here since their opening year ,it certainly was an unforgettable experience .
The courses were complimentary and in perfect order, we ordered the black truffle supplement with the soft scramble which was fantastic.
Food was first rate with impeccable presentation and without the theatrics.
Great place for any occasion. Food was amazing. Wine pairing not needed but a good option for enhanced food experience.
Love Providence SO much. Impeccable everything and the very best place to celebrate anything.
We had a wonderful evening. We are so happy that Providence is open. We were very comfortable with the corvid-19 measures being utilized.
Very recommendable for a special occasion! Food and service was outsanding
Michelin star worthy! It is a food experience to remember.
This restaurant was wonderful! As soon as you enter the door, you are pampered with exceptional service. The staff was very professional and humorous. The food came out shortly after each course and each set a new standard for my taste buds. This was an experience that cannot be missed.
Food and service were outstanding. We were celebrating an anniversary and menus were printed with a happy anniversary message for us to take home as a memento. Staff were attentive to our every need and were highly knowledgeable about the food and wine selections. We choose to have the wine pairing with our dinner and the pours were very generous. We missed the cheese cart and hope it returns at some point in the future.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Superlative experience.
Ever excellent and pushing the boundaries of potential taste combinations.
Best experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Food and service, ambiance, valet. I mean absolutely flawless. This deserves 3 stars. Cannot wait to go back.
The food is creative, artistically presented and delicious.
Love the beautiful relaxed ambience and the service is outstanding.
It is very expensive and we enjoy for very special occasions.
Providence never disappoints! From the presentation to the flavors to the attentive staff, it is for sure the best restaurant in Los Angeles!
Amazing dinner! Super fun music to create a surprisingly upbeat atmosphere
Top 3-5 meals I've ever had in my life. Food was spectacular, service was also very good. Definitely was the most expensive meal I've paid for but I would say the experience was worth the cost. Every dish was delicious!
The food and service was on par or better than every Michelin rated restaurant we have been to, however the NaCL content in the dishes was a point of contention between us two diners. While providence clearly earns its two stars, do not come here for its wine pairing as the wine served on the “premium” menu is underaged and required more than 5 to ten years a bottle more of aging before service in a Michelin rated restaurant.
The wine pairing alone knocked my review out of the 5 star range, however the cocktails(sazerac table side) , ambiance, food, presentation, plating, and service saved the dining experience to reinforce providence as one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles.
Well deserved of its two Michelin stars, the food and service was exemplary from the moment we stepped in the restaurant. The staff are unbelievable, the bar tender makes the finest dry Martini my wife has ever had and the food is simply sublime from start to finish. We tried both the duck and Wagyu "main" courses and they were out of this World. Definitely deserves its spot on the highest of all dining experiences in Los Angeles.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Great for a special occasion
Dinner is always perfect at Providence, but for some reason (perhaps because it has been so long since we've had a fine meal in a wonderful restaurant) it was especially perfect. Everything was on point and we were enchanted from the moment we walked in the door. We were celebrating our daughter's graduation from college and we loved every moment of our magnificent meal.
The food was amazing, the cocktails were phenomenal, and the staff was warm and friendly.
It was wonderful!
Providence is my absolute favourite: food, service and atmosphere are exceptionally top notch. It's *the* restaurant I think about when asked, "where do you want to go" or "where do you recommend." So to celebrate a special occasion, we chose Providence for our first dinner *inside* a restaurant since COVID. There's only one tasting menu they're serving at this time: the eight-course (+ multiple amuse bouche and a post dinner sweets), Chef's Tasting. As usual, Providence is hard to get into on weekends, as they're often booked two months out. And with limited dining capacity (current COVID tier mandates a max of 50% capacity indoors), getting your preferred date becomes harder. As we entered, to our surprise, we were lead to the Chef's Table. Pre-COVID, the only way to reserve this table was to have a 4-person tasting menu and even then, it wasn't guaranteed. So as we were shown the table, I cried; I was just overwhelmed. It's so nice to be moving forward to some semblance of pre-COVID. The dinner started with a trio of amuse bouche and then with an additional off-menu starter. Providence is a seafood-focused restaurant; I absolutely LOVE the Japanese aesthetic to preparation and presentation. Everything was phenomenal, delicious and meticulously prepared. We also added an uni egg which was delightfully umami-filled; at once, delicately earthy and perfectly briny. The dessert was both bright and palate-cleansing; dinner was finished with additional chocolates served four ways. And as usual, they provided a gift bag of next-day breakfast sweets. We've been dining at Providence for a dozen years and it was wonderful to chat w Mr Poto; hopefully, they will remain busy and remain a staple of the LA dining scene for many years to come. Always a memorable evening.
The new tasting menu was excellent! Worth coming back for again and again!
We celebrated our anniversary at Providence. It was nice to be able to dine in after not going out for over a year. The food and service were spectacular just as we remembered it. This was our third time at Providence.
Excellent as usual
This is obviously a well deserved 2 star Michelin restaurant, which is worth every dime. the food and service was excellent.
Each course was exquisite. The dining room was beautiful. The servers were numerous (mixed impression) but our “main guy” was well informed and quite personable. Overall, a beautiful and memorable evening.
Some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten. Very highly recommended.
Phenomenal food, even better service, beautiful ambiance. Overall exquisite, I will be coming back.
