    The service made our table of 4 feel like a second tier customer, as the “vip” table next to us - armed to the teeth with 4+ servers - overpowered anything we needed (including things as simple as a refill of iced tea, etc). When our table actually got service, we were greeted by nearly cold steaks, oysters with broken shell in them, and coffee that took 13 minutes (timed on an iPhone) to brew. Aside from the inadequate temperature of the $65 NY Strip Steak, the food was decent. The service however was better at a suburban Olive Garden or Cheesecake Factory - far below anything remotely expected for Napa. Total disappointment & unfortunate considering I was scoping out spots to host a major corporate event here now that COVID is ‘over’.

    Its been a year plus since our last visit as we are from out of town. We were initially drawn to Press due to a review touting their bacon appetizer. We enjoyed our experience back in January 2020 under the prior menu/chef. This visit was not what we expected due to menu and chef changes. No bacon appetizer and a different menu. We were expecting the prior steak house experience. The food was good. We visit annually and try to include a dinner at Press. With all the area choices and given the changes, this was most likely our last visit.

    Service was extremely slow and the restaurant was barely full. We ordered steaks that I would say we’re mediocre at best. We have definitely had our fair share of really nice restaurants and honestly this one we were looking forward to and honestly did disappoint. I’m sad about that as we had heard some great things. The party next to us also had some issues with their meal. Anyways the apps were good but again I think Napa has some other best choices.

    This was the most over priced and under valued dinner we have ever had. We have been to a wide variety of places all over the world, and never have we felt more ripped off with this experience. The food wasn’t that great, in fact the asparagus side was horrendous with the mixture they used for sauce. The portions, for what you paid for these plates ($48 for a small chicken breast) was completely over rated. We will never go there again and have advised all of our family and friends, who travel up to St Helena, to stay away.

    We were very much looking forward to my birthday dinner at PRES; however, the experience was very underwhelming. We anticipated a steak house with an upscaled menu to align with such, rather it was a very short menu, with limited options. The scallops my husband ordered were small and unsatisfying. The chicken I ordered came out pink, luke- warm, and under cooked. We sent it back, and I was too adverse to it following, so I barely touched the replacement chicken, yet they still charged us for the meal. The wine menu was quite lengthy, yet the Sommlier was pretentiuous in his manner with us. In speaking with others during our visit to Napa Valley, the locals are also not favorable to PRESS with its current menu and format, are are nor recommending visitors to dine there.

    Wine service was great. Food service was ‘just okay.’ Food tried to be creative but we all felt missed the mark. I had to send back my ‘teeny tiny lobster’ dish due to being overcooked and chewy, $64!!! They were very good about getting scallops out as a replacement very quickly. All four of us in our party agreed we would not return or recommend. Overpriced, under delivered....Disappointing...

    We were really looking forward to dining at Press, we have passed by so many times over the years. Our seating was quick and very comfortable outside. We ordered two bottles of wine and cocktails and then waited 20 minutes before they came. I have also not ever had the sommelier open the wine out of site! The menu was really unique and eclectic and very good although the two steaks ordered were sent back to be cooked to order. All in all we chalked up our experience to COVID and restaurants still getting back into the swing of things. Our waiter was great and apologized for the things that went wrong. If I could I would give a 3 star plus.

    Dinner was ok. Expect more when I am paying $40-50 a plate. Took over 30 min to take our order. Knifes were dull and when we let the waiters know, they agreed and said it was a known problem.

    Really don’t like to criticize places during the pandemic but this was really bad. Forgot side dishes and coffee. Entrees took very long as in almost an hour to arrive after appetizers. Tomahawk steak was not cooked even close to properly but sending it back at that point was not an option. We dine at a lot of wonderful restaurants in Napa; this was not one of them

    The waiter was horrible. He acted more as if we were a bother to him rather remembering we were customers. At the end he gave us the bill for another table that was 1.5 times greater then ours and when I brought this to his attention his words were “oh ok”.

    Ambiance is warm, trendy and relaxing. We sat outside it was very well heated by a beautiful fire place, very cozy. We were welcomed immediately by such friendly staff. The service was on point and Eric our server just was outstanding! The food was fantastic as were the cocktails and the wine! Wine list is very impressive. This has been our favorite restaurant by far in Napa! Can’t wait to go back! Recommend the oysters, snapper, octopus, tomahawk (prochini hollandaise was incredible), scallops and the pavlova is a must!

    This was our second time to Press as we loved it the first time a few years back. Without all the people creating an upbeat vibe, the drab decor was more noticeable this time. They really need to add some flowers and candles to create a better ambiance. While the service was top notch, some of the dishes were underwhelming. We ordered a salad to share that seemed like it was split 4 ways as we only had a few leaves. It was to a point of being a bit ridiculous. I ordered the smoked swordfish that our waiter recommended. It didn’t taste smoked at all, and came only warm, and seemed undercooked and a bit rubbery. The sauce was at least tasty. Desserts were just okay and menu a bit limited. I think they are trying too hard to perhaps have an eclectic menu.

    We loved Press. Best Chicken I have eaten. The swordfish was delicious as well. Their Sommeliers were amazing help with their very impressive wine list.

    Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I were offered bar seating which is our favorite option wherever we dine. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating in everyway. Adam, our server and bartender, was the best! All his suggestion from the menu was spot on. The sommelier was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait to return - our finest meal in a year.

    They don't have the souffles anymore! Also, his sounds silly but the dishes and glasses look like they came from my kitchen - they feel a bit....cheap. The food was excellent but heavy (no vegetarian or fish options). And it's quite expensive. The service was excellent.

    Extensive! wine list. not all ridiculously expensive. Pigs ears were fun and different. We had the Tomahawk steak. Was done as ordered. Service was very good and not obtrusive. The heaters outside worked really well. Kept us warm

    Press’ menu prior to COVID-19 was filled with good, solid American cuisine, prepared to perfection. Presently, the menu has items that might be offered at nearby more experimental establishments. Our food was fabulous and unusual. Even if you can’t find something to like on the menu, ask for cheese and bread and the wine list. They have the most complete collection of Napa wines anywhere on Earth.

    My husband and I have frequented Press many times in the past and we have always thoroughly enjoyed the food and overall dining experience. This time, however, was different. I understand the need for a scaled down menu due to COVID restrictions but it was difficult to choose among mediocre and boring choices. My husband chose the $65 NY Strip steak which looked more like a filet mignon. Even more disappointing than the size was the huge strip of grisle running through the steak. I feel like we can purchase a superior cut of meat from our local Brown's Valley Market for half that price. Again, I understand the need for the scaled down menu but leave some favorites on the menu...truffle mac n cheese perhaps?

    So to be painfully honest, this is no longer one of our favorite Napa/St. Helena restaurants and it was fabulous in its former iteration... steakhouse. We were excited to book a table here and bring friends whom had never been. Sadly, the service was really quite bad - the server forgot to put in our appetizer order multiple times and not until we brought it to the manager's attention (after bringing it to the server's attention multiple times) did we finally receive the item. I also requested they slow service for the rest of the meal items...which did not happen. They all came out together. Additionally, the steak options on the menu were terrible quality and exorbitantly priced. I don't mind paying for a good steak... but all of our steaks were extremely fatty (beyond any acceptable amount) and cooked incorrectly. The few bright spots were the duck fat potatoes, ricotta gnudi and the desserts.... Press... go back to what you use to do exceptionally well - steaks and yummy side items!

    The menu had completely changed. The portions were extremely small for the price. Food was very ordinary and there weren't many options. The waiter gave us the bill and never returned. A different server had to help us with the bill. Very very disappointed because we used to go there all the time. Will not be returning.

    Definitely one of the best overall meals I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of exceptional experiences. Would 100% return, my biggest conflict would be what to experience a second time, and what new things to try.
