Prairie Star Restaurant and Wine Bar at Santa Ana Golf Club has offered an unforgettable dining experience since 1986. Housed in a renovated 100 year-old adobe ranch house, the warmth and intimacy of Prairie Star is intoxicating. You may absorb the NM Territorial atmosphere of handmade adobe walls, kiva fireplaces and full viga and latilla ceilings while enjoying awe-inspiring and sweeping views of the golf course and the Sandia Mountains.

Our culinary team masterfully creates stunning Contemporary New American cuisine with global influences and Executive Chef Myles Lucero changes our menu seasonally to reflect the time and freshest ingredients at hand. Each dish is carefully crafted from the finest ingredients, locally sourced when possible, and organic, sustainable and fair trade items preferred.

Prairie Star serves prix fixe menus on major holidays, and you can find details at prairiestarrestaurant.com. We are closed Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Our facility is acclaimed for hosting tasteful events from social parties, corporate retreats, to wedding ceremonies and receptions. We can accommodate 170 guests indoors and our outdoor location can host up to 400 guests. The menu packages start at $32 per person. We can book events 7 days a week, breakfast, lunch or dinner--plated or buffet.

Beautiful view of the Sandia Mountains. Excellent grapefruit martini. Seared Ahi tuna special was superb. Peach and blackberry cobbler with ice cream was delicious. Service was delightful.

Another delicious meal and delightful evening. We had the wine and dine special, all three courses were amazing. Ronda was very friendly and attentive, as always. Our favorite restaurant by far!

Every Wednesday and Thursday, the Prairie Star has their Wine and Dine, a three course dinner for two with a bottle of wine for just $89! Crazy idea but it is wonderful. The included starters, entrees, and dessert are not “loss leaders”; they are excellent offerings. The wait staff is knowledgeable, efficient, friendly. And you get to take whatever is left in the wine bottle home! Beautiful setting-we stared out the window at the golf course and the Sandia Mountains. I highly recommend the Prairie Star to everyone

Ever since we started it in 2009, it’s gotten so popular that we’ve had to add Thursday to our Wednesday promotion schedule a few years back. We love it because it allows Chef Myles to showcase his culinary creativity with a special menu every week. And he is able to use fresh local ingredients from shopping Farmers markets and New Mexico farms. Thank you so much for your recommendation!

The Wednesday/Thursday price fix for two is a bargain. Three courses plus a bottle of ( drinkable) wine for $89. Food was delicious, we were seated near a window and could view the nearby landscape. Service was attentive. Make a reservation as many take advantage of this great special! I wish I lived closer.

It was the perfect place for our anniversary/birthday dinner. Each person we met was friendly from the number of servers to management. Francesca was attentive and professional. We loved the food and ordered the special dinners that were described.. Beef Bourguignon and the Salmon with Lobster Risotto. All was perfect!

I came with my husband and two friends, my husband got the lamb loin and we got the ribeye steaks. My husband gave me a bite of his lamb loin, which contained a bones splitter that almost cut my throat, the next bite he took also had a bone, the rest of the loins did not. The menu never said they had bones or the possibility of a bone. That was at the beginning our meal which made me anxious to eat my steak, chewing ever bite slowly worrying about more bones, even though it was a different meat.

Thank you for sending your feedback, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I immediately took this to Chef Myles and he was very puzzled; he said the loin he receives from the vendor isn't near any bone. He has been doing spot checks with the loin since and asking the staff to immediately report any further comments, but he can only surmise it was an isolated incident, and offers his apologies. We do appreciate the heads-up, and hope you will continue to dine with us.

Mostly excellent as usual. Only shortcoming was the steak. Way too much fat and gristle, but the meaty part was good.
