   Sadly, this was our last meal at Poppy. The restaurant is now closed. It has been a favorite for 11 years. Beautiful imaginative delicious food, always. Lots of vegetarian options.

   Sooooo slow. The kitchen was understaffed. Took an hour and a half to get our food. The server was apologetic and they comped our drinks, but still!

    Poor service, we had a long wait to be seated despite reservations and to get served. The Thali was a joke for the amount charged, and was served after we threatened to leave due to the long wait. I was truly disappointed!

    Been to Poppy for a decade. We left after waiting at our table for 25 minutes to place a drink order. We were openly ignored even when I went to the bar. The wait staff told us to go ahead and just leave them. What a disappointing send off to what used to be one of the best places in the city

    By far the worst dining experience I have ever had in 32 years of living in Seattle. My reservation was at 7:30, was promptly seated and ignored until 7:40. Food and Drinks were ordered at same time, appetizer comes and goes before drinks even make it to table. Drinks come and 30 minutes goes by until food comes. Half the food order was incorrect, so my mom ate her dinner and it was cleared before mine ever arrived. At this point, I just wanted to be anywhere but Poppy. They did comp part of our dinner due to the shitshow we endured, which was the only pleasant note to a trying evening out.

    Great spot, as always. It was super crowded, since they had announced that day that they were closing soon, and I think it took them a bit by surprise since they were understaffed and the drinks took forever to get made (they did warn us about that when we ordered tho, then comped them when they got there after our meal). But service was still great, as was the food. We will miss this place!

    The service outside on the patio was very slow and inattentive. Two other parties, couples, received a lot of attention. We had to wait a very long time for our water, food and eventually the check. It was crowded as they are closing. It took 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered. The waitress spent a long time chatting with her friends who arrived after we finished our meal, oblivious to our needs. We wanted to leave and still did not have the check. So, my husband went into the restaurant to ask the attendant to get our check. With a mandatory 20% tip, there's no incentive to give excellent service!!

    Our dining experience was outstanding. We had the chicken with rhubarb sauce, oh my goodness, it could not have been any better. The layers of flavor in that dish are exceptional.

    The food at Poppy continues to be outstanding. The Shigoku Oyster appetizers were the best we've ever had. The Northwest Farmstead Cheeses were excellent, but on the skimpy side for our party of 5. 3 of us ordered the Doubanjiang Braised Pork Shoulder which was one of the Thali's of the Day and the Mad Hatcher Chicken with Rhubarb Sauce 'large plate'. The pork sauce was amazing and the pairings were beyond incredible. The carrot ribbons with clove and lime were a delightful surprise. The snap peas with peppermint were crisp and refreshing. And the tomato, strawberry and sage soup was amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection; moist and flavorful. The servers were warm and friendly; attentive and helpful. The only issue was how long it took to get drinks and food. We were a party of five, with 7:15 reservations on a Friday night, but felt that shouldn't have been overwhelming. We finished our appetizers before we were served our drinks. And then waited a seemingly long time to get our dinners. But the absolutely incredible flavors and the Thali experience more than made up for it. Definitely a restaurant to experience!!

    The small plates were good. We were excited to try the Thali but were underwhelmed. Our waitress never returned to take our bill so we had to wait around for a long time for some one else to take care of our bill.

    Poppy never let's me down. The service is excellent, the Thali is always a feast, the drinks selection is great. The ambience is also very good and you can have a nice chat with friends and colleagues. This place is a Must for every time I am in Seattle. Team Poppy keep it up, you are doing great.

    We dined outside in the herb garden, a beautiful peaceful setting, with attentive friendly service. The salmon with pinot noirs sauce was outstanding as were the vegetable sides (tomato salad with a smoke infused vinaigrette and perfectly prepared morel mushrooms) and pork shoulder thali.

    We visited Poppy during Pride weekend. The waiter was slow and wasn’t paying attention at all. We had to ask multiple times to get anything out of him. We asked for the check and he was just chatting with the host and forgot our request. When asked again he requested our credit card so he could charge us and bring it to our table. Only then did we realize that we were automatically charged a 20% tip. It wasn’t even busy since we arrived at 5:15pm. We won’t dine there again.

    Our dinner was absolutely delicious! Definitely get the Thali - it was amazing. However, with an appetizer it is also enough food for 2. Service was a tiny slow (considering there was nobody in the restaurant but us!) but very polite and charismatic.

    After sending my daughter and son in law to Poppy a few months ago to celebrate a birthday and loving it, my husband and I finally went, Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. The food was outstanding! He got the Braised Pork Shoulder Thali Plate and I had the Salish Sea Halibut. We loved both our dishes and ate every bite. We started with a Green Goddess salad and it was delicious as well. The A. Maurice Viognier wine was a nice accompaniment. Our only "complaint" (too strong a word) was a table with a young family with an out of control 3 year old. Our reservation was at 8:00pm and they arrived at the same time. If you are going to bring your toddler to a nice restaurant, bring them at 6:00. I know this was not the restaurant's fault and they were very kind to re-seat us on the opposite side of the restaurant. It definitely did not dissuade us from a 5 star review and we will definitely be back! WE LOVED IT!

    We were taking 2 guests from Australia and wanted to impress them with our dinner out. When we arrived the aroma was so good. Made you look forward to the food that was coming. The food was unusual and delicious. Four of us got 2 thalis and 3 starters to share. It was more than enough food. The service was excellent. When we initially drove by the restaurant, my husband said he thought it might be closed and didn't look very nice. Once inside the décor was very nice and pleasing. We didn't eat outside but the courtyard dining looked appealing. Having parking behind the restaurant is a real plus. Our guests were very impressed and enjoyed the evening. I would definitely recommend it.
