Unfortunately, our experience at Poppy and Seed was disappointing. The food was extremely bland—borderline flavorless. We actually had to ask for some spicy sauce just to make it somewhat palatable. Despite the beautiful presentation, none of the dishes had any real taste. The coffee was also a letdown—it arrived lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for an hour before being served. To their credit, the service was friendly and attentive. Our server checked in and asked how everything was tasting. We were honest and said there was no flavor at all, but he just smiled and moved on, which felt a bit dismissive. Overall, the atmosphere and service were nice, but the food didn’t live up to the hype or price. We won’t be coming back.

Celebrating my nephew’s birthday. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. Owners made it extremely memorable by stopping at the table and offer greetings and birthday wishes. Thank you for a memorable dining experience.

I research chefs who appear on food Network and who create dishes that are of interest in me. My son and I like to visit as many of their restaurants as we can when I am in the Los Angeles area. Michael Reed and Poppy & Seed have been on my radar for some time and we were pleased to be able to get a reservation yesterday evening. The atmosphere is lovely, funky and inviting. Each dish was refined, with interesting, honored ingredients, and presented artfully and creatively, all without being fussy. The founder and chef was present, and his attention and care for the details was evident. What a lovely beginning to end experience - bravo!

Everything was fantastic. The ambiance was great. The staff was exceptional with their great service. The food was delicious and it’s fresh from farms right here in California. I love that.

We had high expectations due to Michelin guide review, and were not disappointed in the setting, service or menu. Cocktails were original, and service was excellent. Wine list was nice. The food was just ok - most was over-engineered and complicated to the point of losing the flavours. The octopus was lost in chili oil and beans, the duck breast smoked to an almost rubbery texture and served with a salad so heavy with mint, cilantro and other herbs so as to overshadow the duck altogether. For the most part, everything was a bit heavy handed. The outstanding dish was the mushrooms - which were delicious and well prepared. I’d not go back, for the price.

Had reservations and got sat immediately. We waited 10 minutes at our table and nobody came to greet us or even serve us, I had to go get a waitress. This is not a good look when I have guests from another state visiting! And to top it off the food came out before our drinks. Overall food and drinks are great but service definitely needs work!

Poppy and Seed is EXCELLENT! One of the better meals we have had in a long time. We attended the Easter brunch and it was incredible! So good that we went for dinner a few nights later, before I flew back to Boston. Both were great! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
