   Since we were staying at the Hilton Park Lane where the restaurant is we decided to try it out. Food was mediocre at best. Menu advertises crisp calamari and it was greasy, soft and flimsy. Service was also very poor. Won’t be back

   It was not the first time for us. We had the chance to have dinner at Podium several times in the past. There is a reasonable food selection and the quality is very good. The waiters are very kind and professional . Excellent service

   We were staying at the Dorchester and Open Table found this restaurant near us. The reviews were mixed but seemed to be somewhat okay and so we booked a table. An unfortunate choice. The food here is mediocre at best. I had the steak frites and my husband had the burger. Both were edible but neither was outstanding in any way. We ordered a £30 bottle of wine but were told they were out of that particular wine, so we just ordered wine by the glass. When we went to pay the bill we saw they didn’t take the £30 wine off the bill. When we brought it to their attention, they removed it but no apologies were given. Overall, the food was okay but not great or even good. Our server was inconsistent. She was quick to take our orders and was personable but kind of a basket case. She immediately assumed we were staying in the attached hotel (a Marriott) and assured us we could bring any leftover wine to our room. She failed to bring water while we choked on our bread, never gave us salt and pepper (we had to get it from another table) and didn’t remove the £30 wine charge on our bill until we asked. If we could go back to Podium, with a better server and at no cost, we would pass. There are so many excellent restaurants in London, there is no reason to go to such a below average place.

   Decent food, great staff but shabby furniture, dull environment and terrible window seat let it down. We had a view of the car park and when it rained, all of the smokers came and stood outside the window less than 1m away from our table! Don't go if you can avoid it, very expensive for what you get when there are so many other good restaurants around.

   We stayed in the Hilton on Park Lane for our wedding anniversary and ate in the Podium restaurant. It was a lovely evening made special by heart glitter on the table and an anniversary desert made especially for us.

   Host was not polite, and seemed to have a negative impression of OpenTable. I felt looked down on, and not welcomed. Asked me if I had a coupon or something. Didn't really realise in advance that it was a hotel restaurant. It's OK, but this was a diaspora family get-together, and I'd wanted better than OK. Service was uneven and inattentive. Food was good enough, but unremarkable and expensive for the quality.
