We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. We go here a few times a year to celebrate various holidays, birthdays, or other celebrations. This place has never disappointed. Delicious apps (calamari and meatball), best pizza, and amazing desserts. Not to mention great wine and beer selection. Everyone is kind and attentive without being overbearing. We will continue dining here!
I was really excited to try this place after hearing so much about the pizza. However, I was unfortunately let down. The margarita pizza was fine. The cacio e pepe pizza was close to inedible. The crust was so crunchy - almost harder to bite than a thick cracker. As well, the pizza came out burnt and extremely salty. We brought the pizza home after the fact to have someone else try it too (they had the same thoughts). The sommelier was very knowledgeable. Our server was very sweet, he just wasn't particularly helpful when it came to us trying to explain what was wrong with the pizza. The music was actually very hip and modern, but it felt a little out of touch with the vibe of the restaurant. One song that played for example was 24kGoldn 'Company feat. Future' which just seemed to clash with the whole ambiance of couples and families dining on Italian food with decent wine. I'd like to try the Osteria around the corner at some point but don't know if/when I would return to the pizzeria.
Nancy Silverton is a master at bread and eating at Pizzeria Mozza is bread lovers dream! The food is simple enough yet elegant and the atmosphere is perfect! The waiter even told me Nancy comes by from time to time to speak to the guests! Not to overpriced, really good for a night out!
Limited indoor seating made for a quiet and enjoyable experience. Not all pre covid menu items are available unfortunately. The pizza I normally get was unavailable. Pizzas took a long time to get as well which was similar to the last dining experience I had there.
Top 2 pizza’s in all of LA!
Always a fantastic experience no matter which Mozza you eat at. The pizza here however is unmatched in LA.
really loud outdoor seating. AMAZING food. Ordered 2 pizzas and was blown away
I would recommend this restaurant add more modestly priced wines by the glass. I believe $20 is the least you can currently expect to pay for a glass of red wine here. But, the food is delicious and the service is stupendous. Still, consider dining in at Osteria Mozza and getting takeout from Pizzeria Mozza. With drinks, you’d be shocked at how similar your bill will be at both places but you get more atmosphere at the Osteria.
Food cannot be beat. Service was spectacular. Our outdoor dining table was right on highland and the noise level was painfully loud, but would still 10/10 go back and recommend it.
We haven't eaten inside a restaurant for 13 months! I was craving the chopped liver toasts and was happily surprised to get a reservation so easily. Our waiter was awesome, the wine was perfect and overall we were extremely satisfied. I mean, what's not to like here?
Great food, wine, atmosphere, and service. Fun variety on the menu. Best pizza we’ve ever had.
CHECK BEFORE YOU GO!! THE "Piazza Mozza*" ISN'T HAPPENING ANYMORE & THE RESTAURANT DID NOT INFORM YOU BEFORE HAND... EXPECTED PASTA & ITEMS FROM CHI SPACCA.... GOT PIZZA INSTEAD. ??
*Outdoor seating in converted parking lot featuring menu from Chi Spacca, Osteria Mozza & Pizzeria Mozza
Overall great restaurant! Loved the food and the atmosphere! Definitely coming back
I've been coming to Mozza for years and love this place, SO glad you're back!
I'd not eaten in the little wine room just off the pizza seating area. there were people at the other tables but it was still quiet enough we were able to have a conversation.
I've always liked the pizza side, but it's usually so noisy that it's hard to talk. With reduced
seating for Covid considerations it seemed quieter. (Fri. April 23 5:30pm)
Good food, nice service, great place.
The crust of the pizza was awesome, I would definitely come back.
Everything was great, except sitting by the street.
Seated along Highland very busy street. Last time we were seated in the back patio. Otherwise really great dinner.
Love the entire vibe and the food was outstanding. Def be back
We did not have the best service. The wrong pizza was made. I asked to stay away from garlic and then was brought garlic. We were outside in the sidewalk during rush hour and tons of people were walking inches away from me and my food. It was not the best mozza experience.
The pizza was one of the best we have ever had. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The toppings were the best quality ingredients. We got the one with salami and chili, the marguerita and the meat lovers and all was delicious. We literally ate every bite. We also had the cauliflower and it was amazing with a fabulous dip. We ate outside and the cars were a little noisy but the service was awesome.
Our server Juan was the best, he made great recommendations and was very attentive. The food was timed perfectly and we enjoyed dining on the sidewalk. We had the cauliflower fritti, tricolore salad, white bean bruschette, and Brussels sprout pizza, everything was consistently delicious. Always save room for the butterscotch budino.
We were placed in a small room with a loud party of 6 people and it was very difficult to hear my girlfriend across our table. The menu was also limited because of covid and it was really disappointing. My pizza was burnt and I could not taste the peppercorn.
Our server was nice though.
Was not that impressed with the food. Perhaps I ordered the wrong item, mushroom pizza. It was OK. Everyone else seemed to be of the same opinion. Salads were tasty.
Wasn't aware that we would be seated on the sidewalk outside the restaurant, when reserving outdoor seating at the Pizzeria. Not an ideal place to sit: lots of people walking by, loud cars driving by and drivers honking their displeasure at other drivers. I kind of feel that this is where you would seat people that drop by last-minute rather than those that make reservation a month in advance. Am now aware I will need to book an indoor table when I reserve at the Pizzeria as the dedicated outdoor space in back is only for the Osteria.
Annual Spring Vacation family dinner
AMAZING pizza. Tried the meatballs this time and they were delicious. All the ingredients are so fresh and the crust on that pizza 👌🏼
We requested outdoor seating however our table was against the valet stand and we had people standing over our table waiting for their cars which was very unpleasant and considering COVID danger not very safe. The manager however moved us indoors which was better however considering the noise level in their main restaurant, we did not enjoy our dinner as we usually do
It has been ages since I went to Mozza. It seems every time I try to book a reservation, I can never get in at a reasonable time. But this time I was in luck. Both the date and time were available. Some of my favorite items were still on the menu with some new additions. They have the best burrata and cherry tomatoes. They side of bread is so delicious along with it! The meatballs are another thing I love. Wonderfully flavorful and melt in your mouth. And the pizzas are the best. My favorite is the sausage and fennel pizza. It’s what I crave when I go. Can’t wait to go back!
Haven’t been there for years and it was as good as I remember. Everything was amazing except for not meeting Nancy :)
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing crust.
Excellent wait staff/servers. Pizza was delicious. Problem was we had a reservation outside and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated (overbooked?). Outdoor seating on sidewalk by loud, busy street not ideal. Loved the food and the accommodating wait staff.
My very favorite!! All 3 of them
If I had to live on an island with only one food for the rest of my life - it would be Pizzeria Mozza's Bianca Pizza with fennel sausage added. My family would pick the same. And to have caprese, the bread, chopped salad and Budino just made the meal 10 times better! We drive from Hermosa Beach (and have since La Brea Bakery and Campenile was a thing) just to enjoy this amazing food. The crowning moment (of the whole weekend) was meeting Nancy Silverton! When she was willing to say hi to me and my friends that were visiting from Minnesota - who read/watch everything about Nancy and adore her, we could not have been happier! Thank you for a great food, and wonderful waitstaff, and AND Nancy taking the time to greet us! Perfection!
Hadn’t been in years and was hoping it was as amazing as it had been in the past. We were seated in a dark and dingy “wine cellar” where the noise and music from the restaurant next door was pretty loud. The server forgot to put the pizza order in so while everyone else around was eating we waited. The food was outstanding but I don’t think I’ll return until they renovate and bring it back to its glory days. The bathroom (unisex) was the worst part and definitely needs a face lift.
The food and service were both excellent! We love the little wine room.
Still one of my favorite restaurants in LA! It was a wonderful meal.
My experience with Mozza? To summarize, Indifferent. Manager did not care that it was my mothers Bday. Did not care that online it said I would be able to order from all 3 menus and that I had told my family all about it, getting their hopes up. The Manager showed no interest in correcting the error in communication caused by them. Showed no interest in righting their wrong. Showed no interest in helping me celebrate my mothers 65th Bday. The Manager was Apathetic in my disapointment for their service. More than serving food, they serve happineds thru their food. All I got served was disapointment, anger, and frustration. I thank you for that.
Great experience as always. Only thing wasn’t 100 % was that the goat cheese lentil app was on the cold side & overall a bit drab. Everything else was superb!
Favorite restaurant in all of LA; I don't want to have dinner anywhere else!
