The food was excellent. My server was a doll. The only problem I had was where I was sat. So I was sold on upstairs from an advertisement on Instagram. I made the reservation but didn’t specify that I wanted to be upstairs. I asked the host what was up with that and was told I had to be specific about that when making the reservation, but was also told even if I did put that in the reservation it’s not guaranteed that I would be able to sit up there. That absolutely makes no sense. Therefore I will not be returning to this pop up. But appreciate the meal. Thanks.

My fiancé and I went out to celebrate her birthday. We had never been to Picnic Society before and immediately fell in love with the ambiance and concept of the restaurant. We were escorted to the upstairs patio where we sat on pillows by a low table on artificial grass. Our server, Sam, was wonderfully helpful going through the menu and making recommendations. I had the burger with caramelized onions and my fiancé had the lobster roll. Both melted in our mouths along with our wine. Even after we were too full to eat Sam surprised us with a little dessert to celebrate our evening. It was a truly wonderful experience. We will definitely visit again soon!

It was my daughter’s 16th bday and we drove up from Newport Beach with a small group to surprise her for lunch. The MAJOR complaint was that the actual “picnic” section was closed AND that was not stated anywhere on the reservation....it TRULY was a bummer as the 6 girls specifically chose this restaurant based on the cute/bohemian OUTDOOR picnic area on the roof....if you’re showing pictures of the picnic eating area, you should let everyone know it is closed at this time - kind of a bait and switch!

Do not recommend. Much better options within The Grove.. Upon arrival the host/waiter stated duration they only had large parties upstairs. Upon going to the restroom we saw that was a lie and there were many open tables upstairs but I assume they wanted people actually seated on the main level to give the appearance of having Food was ok but they brought my entree, then my appetizer 2 min later and my husbands entree 15 min later. We specifically requested an upstairs table and confirmed in person 2 weeks before. Our server Hannah was pleasant. To cap things off they don’t validate parking which seems like a slap when you’ve paid >$150 for dinner in a mall.

The sausage rolls were amazing. The rest very good (nicoise salad, lobster roll, caprese salad roll) but fairly standard LA fare. Could do with at least a couple of more individual items on the menu.

Food was mostly amazing but it was definitely a loose interpretation of a Panzanella salad. The cushioned seating, while increasingly uncomfortable as the night went on, is very cool. Service exemplary. Super efficient, friendly and informed.
