About
Phans 55 Vietnamese Bistro is located in Fullerton, California and offers a great dining experience for anyone who is a fan of Vietnamese cuisine. In addition to dining in, you can also get your food to go or even order something for delivery if you dont feel like going out. Phans 55 provides ingredients that are local, organic and produce in sustainable environments.
The menu at Phans 55 offers eight different spring roll types alone, with the crispy imperial being a big hit. You can also try the yellow chicken curry, rib eye with onions and watercress or a clay pot dish of rice and seafood.
We had a great experience here. The moment we arrived we felt welcomed and the food, service, and ambience all enhanced our date night.
This is rated way above its ability to deliver. Food is OK. Atmosphere is US Fast Food. Food is OK, but nothing spectacular. I enjoy Vietnamese Food and this place falls short. We started with rolls, OK. Shaken Chicken was only OK. Chicken Pot was a little better, but still just Chicken and Rice. Pretty disappointing given other ratings.
Delicious, fresh tasting.
The food was good but don't come here when you are super hungry. For a party of four after spending over $100 without drinks and still felt like going to Panera Bread next door to eat some more. Guess we ordered one expensive Seabass pot at Phan55 and we got this very small portion entree. The food is more refined then other Vietnamese restaurants.
We had such a good dinner. Marvellous appetisers, calamari, dumplings and crab rangoon. All our party were happy with their choices but I seldom vary from my favourite Seafood Claypot. It is so, so good! Great service from everyone and Jose, the bartender, is a real asset to the restaurant. A really fun place to go. We are lucky to have it in our neighbourhood.
Took the Mrs here for Valentine's day dinner since she can't get enough Pho in her life now. Was easily the best she and I have ever tasted. We will return.
Really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant although it was tucked away in a small mini-mall. Very, very nice and friendly service. Fun and entertainng staff who patiently walked through the menu. The food was abundant and delicious! Would definitely recommend this place. There is some outdoor dining, but it was a tad too hot to eat outside.
Another great night for a Friday, good friends and great food. Had the special, braised Boneless Short ribs, tasted great!
Stopped by for lunch over the weekend and was not disappointed. Tasty Pho and a good portion and value
We really enjoyed our Friday night dinner and drinks. Jose is a great bartender and will make your evening for you.
Had another great night here. Arrived about 5:45 and Bar was already having fun. Had a great meal, ask for Ahi Pizza, it's not on the menu.
Jose was the bartender and was very busy. The bar ended up being full and most of the tables were also.
Lot's of fun for a local spot.
the staff seemed to be overwhelmed - I had made a reservation but no one greeted me when I got there - they just said sit where ever you want - they were running all over the place and I had to remind them several times to check me in on opentable for my points - overall the food was good and service was ok
I wanted to step up from the strip mall Pho place we usually go to for something better with a chef. It was fine but the salmon was dry and the sea bass greasy. It's a nice little place but not worth paying triple just for nice atmosphere. Howard
We were two out-of-town couples, and we shared this dinner on Valentine's Day*:
*We did not order from the prix fixe dinner menu offered that evening. Everything was a la carte.
First course:
calamari
seared ahi tuna spring rolls
Second Course:
Chilean seabass claypot
royal fried rice
shaken beef rib-eye
steamed rice
steamed vegetables
All the dishes were seasoned correctly, and the meat and seafood were not overcooked. We especially loved the Chilean seabass claypot. (Make sure you order a side of steamed rice and a side of steamed vegetables, so you can enjoy the flavors of the sauce that much more.)
We may have to return each time we visit the area.
In search of delicious Pho and I found it at Phans 55. Love it so much I returned with a group of 6.
My son and I were craving Pho on a cold Saturday evening. So happy I picked this place. The chicken Pho was fabulous. The broth was flavored perfectly for my picky taste buds. It was so good I ate the regular size bowl all to my self. My son ordered the Lemon Grass seafood soup and it was out of this world. We are definitely going back. Pho-sure.
We keep coming back to this nice restaurant. Great wine and food at a great price.
We just discovered Phans55, but it will be out new gathering place for food and drinks. The food was fantastic and the Happy Hour enabled us to drink/eat more than we would have otherwise. If you new to Vietnamese food, this is a good place to start because there seem to be a number of "Americanized" dishes on the menu. This is a help for any less adventurous eaters in your party. The "meal for 2" is an economical way to eat here as well. The food was fresh and delicious!
Found this restaurant through yelp and it was a pleasant surprise. Phan 55 is a modern twist on the traditional Vietnamese food. We tried the ahi tuna springs rolls (delicious), tofu & eggplant (delicious), and the filet beef (beef was a little bit tough but marinade was delicious). This was our first time and we are definitely going to go back to explore their menu.
First time here. Had the seafood claypot. Wasn't bad. Also had a chicken sanwich. The bread wasn't that fresh but I still liked the sandwich. The soup it was served with was good with a strong ginger flavor.
Normally like to order the Pho' here, it is delicious. We tried some other dishes recommended by host and were also pleased. They have a pretty good happy hour and the staff is always friendly.
The food at this place is phenomenal... The bar is kind of slow and the bartender has an unwarranted attitude. For a place this size, there is no reason one should have to stand at the bar waiting to order for 10+ minutes without the bartender even making eye contact.
It's been a while since I've been back to Phans 55. The food is really good, but the service was a little slow. Nice people, but just disorganized. As an example, we ordered the prefix menu and it came with wine or beer, which did not come until after we asked about it again. Then my wife's appetizer came out, then her entree, then my entree, and then my appetizer. Like I said a little disorganized. I would still recommend the place because the food is good, but just be prepared for a longer than usual dinner.
Great time, Good food and lots of fun at the bar we went on Friday night around 6pm. Jose was working the bar and Thai was helping
We had great service and the food was outstanding. We had chicken meat ball Pho, ( not on the menu) and. Rainbow roll, also not on the
Menu. Our friends had different kinds of Pho, and they also loved it. Ryan is the mgr. he checked n us to make sure all was going well
We will be back soon!
8 of us went and all 4 couples chose the prix fix dinner. There was something for the vegetarian and meat lovers so everyone was happy and the price value was great at $20/person. We'd go again.
Some standard fare but some gems. The ahi tuna pizza was amazing. The Normady Fish Stew was delightful. Went with a group of 7 and everyone was very pleased with their dish. Everything except for the tofu appetizer disappeared. Good job.
My only complaint would be that a table was not reserved for us and the tables were all full and we sat at the bar. We made friends with everyone around us and it was fun.
So this week we are going again and I called them direct for a reservation. We will see if they reserve a table for us.
We tried pho, ahi roll, and chicken curry. Pho is excellent but the other two are mediocre. The curry was overwhelmed with cumin while its chicken is overcooked. Moreover, it does not reflect how Vietnamese interpret curry, which is distinctively from Japanese, Thai, and Asian Indian cuisine. Probably it's a good place for lunch but not for dinner.
The thing we noticed immediately was the different taste and quality of their broth in the pho. They use higher quality meats therefore the broth is not as oily as you expect. This give the pho a very welcomed different taste than the traditional broth.
Really enjoyed our experience. Great food and great service.
Tasty, well prepared dishes.
Sea Bass excellent--though somewhat pricey.
Preparations an flavors very reminiscent of
Viet Nam.
The staff was attentive and friendly. I had a coupon that was actually not valid, but they honored it anyway. The chicken fried rice I had was light, fluffy, and deliciously different from anything else I've ever had. I highly recommend the lemonade soda!
Best Pho we have ever had, the mixer of herbs explodes in your mouth.
Phans 55 always serves up quality food accompanied by very attentive and hospitable service! Has been one of my favorite restaurants ever since the first week they opened...

Delicious, creative, memorable, and perfect! Presentation phenomenal, Vietnamese food prepared the way French chefs endeavor to do...each bite, an adventure in taste!
I will not be satisfied until I try every item on the menu. AND yes! There is a "secret" menu
with items like an unbelievable seared Ahi Pizza! Hello! How's that for different? It will be the 1st item I order upon my return visit this week!
Food is very good;especially their specials. Parking is in the lot; so very easy. Very reasonable.
Ingredients were very fresh, service was quick and friendly. My $13 Shaken Chicken was seasoned well and a comfortably-sized portion. This place strikes me as being a very solid value, and an enjoyable place where we'll return in the future.
Great Spot, Thuesday nights are for Locals after 7pm, great specials.
It's our local area resturant, we love it. Happy hour is from 5to7, On Thursday's they have special local menu's. Friday's are great if you arrive by 5:30.
We took friends from France to Phans 55 the other night and they loved it as much as we do.
