We visited with two friends on a Sunday evening in September when Santa Fe is much quieter. Decor and ambiance were excellent; table spacing and dividers helped make the experience more personal and felt good w/r/t Covid. Waitstaff was professional, personable, and knowledgeable. It seemed a bit understaffed compared to pre Covid times but they held up well, if a bit slow, as the evening progressed.
Cocktails were innovative and delicious although you should review the ingredients carefully to be sure you are okay with horseradish or sweetness levels. My Okah bitters drink was perfect for summer and not sweet as desired.
Lots of gluten free choices made our GF friend happy; wait staff and kitchen are very careful to keep GF items “clean.” Food was very good with reasonable portions and the best crab cake I have had off the East Coast. The ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly.
We really didn’t have room for dessert but splurged on the goat cheese Cheesecake-it was dense and tart. The aperitif vermouth was unique and a bit addictive. We will be back!
Is a real Fine cuisine with a very fine service. From the host to the waitress to the food to the amenities, made me think of what a Fine restaurant should be. A Green Chile Mac and cheese to die for🤤.
We recognize that many restaurants are struggling with
Wonderful food and service. Lovely setting and fabulous cocktails. A great dining experience.
Just a beautiful restaurant with the best steaks we have had in Santa Fe. Service was great and friendly. Everyone made you feel at home. Do not miss this restaurant. You will want many repeats.
This is the most handsome of the three steak houses in Santa Fe, the other two being Market Steer and the venerable Bull Ring. A great bar area and in the dining area comfortable banquettes, tables with very comfortable chairs.
When we first arrived the piped in music was very loud, after a few requests it was lowered to an acceptable level.
Cocktail were well prepared. Appetizers were ample, except for the tuna tartare.
The four dinner entrees were judged as excellent, however, the requested shared rib eye was delivered as one large hunk rather than split for two persons. The braised potatoes were uninspiring.
We had a dessert prepared by the baker/pastry chef which was wonderful.
It took three hours from start to finish. Shortage of help was an obvious problem. Everyone including the hostess and one or two from the kitchen had to help clear.
I think you should give this restaurant a try. They do a good job on their prime steaks and their tomahawk pork chop.
Parking is a big problem for this restaurant, so be prepared to walk a ways or Uber or Lyft.
The food is amazing, the cocktails are great and so is the service! The shrimp cocktail is delicious, we will definitely be returning to try more dishes and drinks!
Food adequate but at fine dining prices should be fabulous. Server, Granc, was very good. Cocktails decent but salmon and duck average.
Our first dinner at Palace Prime was a winner, and we'll be going back soon. The ambiance was bright, yet peaceful. The menu was nicely varied; we enjoyed the wedge and chef salads, plus lamb chops and a filet. Every bite was delicious, and the portions were quite generous. A great wine selection was much appreciated, as well.
A complimentary birthday dessert/coffee plus a nice visit with Executive Chef Rocky Durham topped off a delightful evening!
Loved our dinner here. Would come more often, but hard to get reservations
It was a great dinning experience overall! We will definitely be back.
Sensational reincarnation of the Palace Restaurant. Looks great and tastes great and is great!
Have eaten at Palace Prime many times but recently noticed that the quality of my $60 steak has gone down hill and tasted like meat tenderizer - very disappointing .
Our party of 3 dined on the secluded, outdoor courtyard. We had the tomato salad and baked brie to start, followed by duck confit salad, pork chop, amd sashimi. All the food was spectacular. The cocktails are creative, delicious, and crafted with care. Juliane recommended a bottle of wine that went brilliantly with our meal.
Thomas was an A+ server and very tentative to our table.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Thanks for making our dining experience so special.
We had a lovely dinner with friends on the Palace Prime patio last night. We were under a canopy in case it rained, and since it didn’t, they pulled the canopy back - it was lovely.
We started with the oysters, which were Misty Points - very delicious and my favorite. Also shown here is the herb cured bison carpaccio with house-made chips which was great. And rounding out our appetizers was the baked Brie with apricot preserves and homemade bread. Highly recommend it all.
We all got steaks - fillets and ribeyes - all cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Sides were the au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach.
I usually get the wedge salad there, and we have ordered the fries in the past, which are great too.
Service is excellent and Chef Rocky Durham is doing a fantastic job.
We are fortunate to have such great high end steak places in town!
We had a wonderful birthday celebration for our daughter at Palace Prime. Many of the staff members stopped by to wish her a happy birthday and Chef Rocky came out to say hello since he heard that she is studying culinary arts. The food and drinks were fabulous. We had a nice variety of appetizers and firsts. Every thing was great. Our faves were the calamari and agua chile and the bread pudding. Thanks to all the staff for making it such a delightful celebration.
Outstanding. Four different dishes and all first class. Drinks were great. Service was great.
The ambiance was wonderful. The food was fabulous. I would definitely go back soon.
A very special experience with better food (especially the prime meat!) than you can even imagine. We celebrated a birthday with a bunch of people who are picky about their food, their cocktails, their art, and the service experience. All came away delighted. Five stars!!
Quality of proteins were exceptional. Good menu. Portions may be a bit big
What was up? On the Sunday of Indian Market with most restaurants overfull, there were plenty of diner reservations available at Palace Prime. For which we are thankful! The Palace Prime seems to be not long reopened but has already attracted crowds for barroom activities and DJ nights on a back patio. The dining room is attractive with nice art work and plenty of room between tables to make conversation easy. The menu is imaginative, the food delicious, the service attentive. This ranks as one of the best restaurant experiences we had in Santa Fe. I will note, however, that while it would be an understatement to call food delivery “stately,” the very slow pacing was made up by friendly personable service by the hostess, manager and, especially, our waiter.
Wonderful experience - food, service, ambience, all up to high standards. The design and decoration of the space is wonderful.
Tremendous service! The cocktail and wine programs are stellar, to say the least! They have created a lovely dining environment in a historic locale that makes me always want to come back as soon as possible. I will be back very soon!
Amazing steaks. Good wine choices and service top notch. Will definitely go back
Wonderful restaurant and and amazing food and ambiance!!
This place has a small but very special menu. Great appetizers and small plates in addition to exceptional entrees.
Really enjoyed the patio with the retractable awning.
Bar looked great-want to try that. Private dining room looked great.
The low ceiling and decor of main is underwhelming and a little claustrophobic.
Servers were super friendly and helpful. First course came out on time. But entrees and other small plates were very slow to come out.
Tastes were good. Menu selections varied and interesting.
Nothing fantastic on tastes
. NY strip Steak did not seem prime at all. Big but not a great flavor and over cooked, asked for MR.
Look forward to some more tastings though. Will be a little shy of ordering beef.
Perfect to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary!
Duck was delicious. Service spotty. Will give it a second try.
Palace Prime is a gem and a half. You do not want to pass it up during your stay in Santa Fe or your night out if you’re local. Where do I start? My boyfriend and I go to their Vinyl and Vino event on Sunday’s as much as we can. I start off every visit with a Butcher’s Martini (the best martini I’ve ever had in my LIFE) and a dozen oysters. I’ve slowly worked my way through the menu but my favorite standouts are the calamari, chicken fried streak (they had as a special one night), and their sashimi. Their cocktail list blows most restaurants in town out of the water. Their hospitality is incomparable. From the kind hostess to the wonderful bartenders, Tony, Todd and Angelo, to the amazing GM Julian, sweetheart Austin and the renowned Chef Rocky, they have nothing less than the cream of the crop working there. All in all, if I had to describe what makes Palace the best in my opinion, it is how they’ve mastered the idea of “balance”, in their drinks, cuisine and everything in between. ❤️
Had an amazing night with really good food and good prices!!
Ambiance and service were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Palace Prime. First, we enjoyed a glass of an excellent rioja with absolutely no rush to order. We weren’t too hungry so split the calamari. My husband had the Caesar salad and I had the heirloom tomato salad. All were delicious with unique flavor twists on old standards. Finished up with peach galette and coffee. It was our final night in Santa Fe and we were so pleased that we finished up at Palace Prime. Highly recommend.
Local diner. This was another great experience here. The steak was done perfectly. The green Chile Mac and cheese is one of the best I have had. Actually has enough heat but not too much either. Just right. The main bartender Todd is creative and has created some great drinks. I have enjoyed them all so far. Not the cheapest place for sure but it’s a nice treat.
