Cafe was pretty empty, but slow service; very atypical for the Cafe. Superb food, however.
Superb! The best place to eat with such elegant service.
As usual great food and good service
Wonderful food and service as always!
Beverage attendant was excellent! Waiter had zero personality and was not good!
The service was absolutely impeccable! We will return next time we’re in the city.
We were visiting NO for the 6th and I’ve had lunch at the Palace Cafe 3 times before over the last 15+ years. I was very disappointed at your small amount of menu choices and very little for non-meat eaters. I ended up with just the roasted beet salad for lunch, My husband enjoyed his hamburger very much. It was very noisy! Sorry, but I don’t think we’re coming back.....
Please bring back the crab claws!!
We switched our brunch plans at the last minute and I'm so glad we did! We managed to reserve a table right away and walk right in to a wonderful experience. Beautiful room with gracious staff and delish food. Bonus- it was a Jazz Brunch so we were treated to a jazz ensemble throughout our meal. We weren't quite ready to leave after eating so we headed upstairs to the bar and enjoyed one more drink while admiring the extensive collection of rum! We will be back for brunch or for happy hour, maybe both!
We had a wonderful waiter, and in the Brennans' tradition took care of all of our questions and needs. Our steaks were done perfectly, our bottle of wine was perfect for the meal, and the Bananas Foster lived up to expectations.
Awful service, we literally tried to pay for our appetizer (comped just cause there was black human hair that they blamed on my purple haired self) and walked out without even eating the entrees or dessert we planned on. I used to love this place but never again. It’s gone way downhill since the remodel.
I’ve been visiting this restaurant since 1999. The bread pudding is fabulous! So, I introduced the bread pudding to my daughter and she went back the next night for a “ to go order”. Delicious delicious.... white chocolate bread pudding and banana faster.
Great food. Great Gluten Free Options and a great staff.
Great location right across from our hotel, which was perfect after a long business day. Menu was creative and offered a number of choices that supported dietary restrictions. We had. Vegetarian who loved the cauliflower entree, a person who ate no pork, and one who had a shell fish allergy. Everyone enjoyed their food and the kitchen was happy to change one sauce for another to accommodate. We ended sharing sweet potato cheesecake. Yummy!!
I tried to get a reservation for 6 but they could only accommodate 4. When I got there and the resturant was not full I realized it had more to do with the ability to sit 6 at a table than being full.
I would go again.
Very pleasant evening. Service was good and the food was delicious. Easy to talk with people.
Delicious pre-theatre brunch with friends.
Turtle soup was disappointing, but everything else was very good.
Very bad restaurant. When I was there for breakfast at 8:15, the restaurant smelt very bad.
They don't have true breakfast menu!
The waitress was new but she did a great job. Only real complaint was that it was freezing inside.
The jazz brunch is the excellent. The banana foster cocktail is worth every calorie. The musicians are great.
Horrible staff. Super noisy.
Our party of 4 arrived ten minutes before our 6:45 p.m reservation. We were told the staff was clearing our table; it would be available shortly. We were not seated until 7:30 p.m.! As we waited, we noticed that three 4-tops had been cleared without anybody being seated. Reception desk told me those were being held for people with "special" reservations (not sure why I wasn't given that option when I made my reservation). Tables sat vacant while we waited). Finally seated upstairs. Staff was inattentive, service was painfully slow, food was mediocre at best. Will never go back and will make sure friends/associates are advised to avoid Palace Cafe.
Much better experience at other restaurants in New Orleans.
Food and service were fantastic! Especially loved the crawfish cheesecake appetizer.
Have fined there in the past and it was wonderful. This time food was poor. Sad what they did to Cobia topped with crabmeat
All time favorite for brunch , even over Commander"s !
Great food, good suggestions from server
One of my favorite places to dine in NOLA. We each chose a signature dish from the cookbook! They were all a culinary treat! We topped it off with the famous Bananas Foster...so good and so fun to enjoy the table side preparation!
We love the Palace Cafe. Food is exceptional- staff is fabulous. We were in New Orleanes for College Football Championship- was high energy days. There were 2 musicians that were entertaining at tables. This is the restaurant we make our first reservation with when planning our trip.
Outstanding service, outstanding food, wonderful experience.
I ordered the scallop and it was excellent! My husband had andouille breadcrumb coated fish. Another excellent dish. Very friendly staff. Drew our bartender was fabulous. And of course the bread pudding was divine.
The wait staff are wonderful and go the extra mile to make your experience special.
The decor is beautiful, the beet salad had a great taste but the beets were chopped too small and our entree was not hot when We specifically asked that it be hot temperature wise.
The service and food were excellent as always! We had the Shrimp Tchefuncte and Andouille Crusted Black Drum. The Gumbo is fabulous.
Not good. So disappointed. ThenPalace. Are used to be such a treat. Not anymore. Won’t be going back. Personally messages management with my concerns and they didn’t even bother to reply. Too many fabulous restaurants in NOLA to waste your time here.
Breakfast with family in Nola
We really enjoyed this restaurant last year and made it a point on our return to New Orleans this year to go back. Food was not nearly as good this year as last year and that was true both my wife and I separately.
Oh my gosh, not even sure where to start! We booked a reservation for NYE. We arrived about 15mins early but no problem getting us seated. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations and splitting, which we like to do, was no problem. The crab cheesecake is a must! They did not have the shrimp tchefuncte that night so we had a fish entree which was excellent. We opted for the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert which was fantastic. Had my partner not been allergic to bananas, my pick would have def been the tableside bananas foster! Palace is our new mandatory place to go next time in NOLA!
I was at a table of all ladies, and we noticed our servers were far more attentive to the tables with males at them. Although we were seated before three other tables (with males), we were waited on and received our food after them. Further, there were annoying little things like they were all given a bottle of water at their tables, and we weren't.
Very pricey for what we ordered. We are at better places that was priced better. Had better Gumbo elsewhere. The catfish and red beans was excellent. Overall a great experience. Just too pricy
