So the place is well worth the wait. I have been to a few Michelin star restaturaunt’s in Chicago, Madrid and DC. I can honestly say this being my first Michelin star in LA it did not disappoint. The drinks was perfect for the taste profile of the table. The appetizers were superb. The ravioli and the goat cheese pasta was amazing. I do recommend you try the trout it was light and delectable. The dessert topped it off with the pie. Omg magnificent. The price was perfect and not too much either. Perfect night.

Most importantly Covid guidelines. Everyone wore a mask and respected boundaries. I appreciate that I can have wonderful food and feel safe. Thank you. I will come again.

I want to remember that the food was better here. Starters were good. Pasta was a miss. Dish arrived cold. They promptly replaced it. Second was hot. But, a bit lacking on flavor.

Food was insanely delicious. Extremely attentive and kind servers. It was the perfect romantic spot for my anniversary! Best thing was the grilled octopus followed closely by the oxtail ragu. Everything we ate was spectacular and the cocktails were very good as well.

My expectations were really big. But at the end what a deception. I heard so good things about the chef that’s why I came. For forty dollars you can have a 1/2 duck. No technique I could honestly do myself, no presentation ( on a white plate and a piece of lemon, no vegetables ( you have to add $15).
I took mozzarella and they gave 4 small pieces of bread) . Again you have to pay extra for more bread.
My deception is at the level of the check. So really big !!

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Service was excellent, the food was creative and flavorful. I thought I hated Burrata until I tried it here, ( we ordered it two different ways - with speck and peas and pancetta and asparagus). Portion sizes are not huge so you can feel free to order that tasty Burrata or other appetizers without worrying that you won't be able to eat your main course. To accomodate COVID restrictions, they've expanded their outdoor space with a walled - and nicely decorated and heated area which makes you forget that you are in what used to be a parking lot.

Odd individual at front desk. After driving in traffic for over 70 minutes and arriving 13 minutes late, I received a lecture about the restaurants reservation policy and was told we needed to leave within 75 mins. He backed off from this by the time I found my guest.

Food was good but not worth the drive or the aggravation.

I had been wanting to come here since I saw the Chef’s Table episode with Nancy Silverton. Def was not disappointed. Everything we ate from the roasted beets to the artichokes and mozzarella to the homemade pastas and unreal desserts, all of it was incredibly delicious. We ate outside in the lovely courtyard. Can’t wait to return.

They had us wait a full hour to be seated for our reservation. Also they seated more than two different couples, who arrived much later than we did, ahead of our three top at 4 seat tables instead of seating us. The literal worst experience I have ever had being seated at any restaurant by a mile. The food did not come close to making up for it.

Service was spot on. Everything was explained in detail. Every thing you might want was offered. Food delicious! Prices are on the higher side, $149 for two with two drinks, one cheese starter, shared pasta course, shared steak and side of beans, and no dessert. The steak was melt in your mouth and balsamic glaze. The beans reminded me of the three bean salad but notched up flavor. Snagged on street parking but there is a valet for $14.

I do not know if it was an off night. But I found the food to be average and over-priced. The crispy duck confit was dry and tasteless the brussel sprouts and pear mostarda made it palatable. The tagliatelle with oxtail ragu and Orechiette with Sausage and Swiss chard where good. Waiter never brought us the roasted beet antipasti, so I cannot comment on that. Probably will not try again but will be back for the pizzeria.

Hey People!

This place makes me question what Michelin stands for. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for 5 years and NYC 4 years before that where eating out is a hobby. I’m die hard for finding that good good food. This place has been hyped up since I’ve been in LA. Saw the chefs table episode on Nancy and was even more curious. I’ll keep it short:

Restaurant layout / vibe was cool.

Waiter was socially off putting and rushed through every moment where he interacted with us. It kind of felt like he wanted to get his shift done and clock out. I think despite where you’re getting food, you’d hope to not have this kind of interaction with someone, but I would have thought it to be least likely had at a Michelin Star restaurant.

Food was just confusing. I was ready to be MIND BLOWN but every plate was disappointing and had us saying, “There’s way better this or that at other restaurants in LA that cost 1/3 of the price, aren’t Michelin, and overall a better vibe.” Examples in the Italian realm being, Felix, Barrique, Scopa, Alimento.

I hear Michelin stars are hard to keep. I would hope this place gets a kick in the butt to LEVEL IT UP.

We sat in the "piazza" outside and it was beautiful. The food was perfect as always but the new outside area makes the experience even better. I'm hoping they'll be allowed to continue to seat diners out there post-pandemic as it was a magical evening.

Had a wonderful meal. Enjoyed the evening.
One critique....the cacio e pepe was way over the top with a "spicy" Indian pepper.
The pasta itself was very good.
Server might have said something noticing one of the orders was not at all consumed.
Otherwise a very enjoyable and long awaited meal.

Service was excellent. There were three of us for dinner. We had three different Buratta dishes that we shared. All were superb. Also shared three different pasta dishes. Also superb. Shared one three scoop gelato dessert. Excellent. Shared the chocolate dessert as well, which was the only disappointing thing we ate. It was very dry and not very tasty. I am a chocolate lover ( which is why we ordered this) and was VERY disappointed. Would not order this again, nor recommend it. Would, however, recommend the restaurant.

We visited LA and, being fans of Italian food and Michelin stars, made a special trip to eat at Osteria Mozza. We elected to eat outside-which was a patio you access by walking around the building though an alley where the valet operates and into a hidden courtyard. Our table was right in the middle. The decor was modest, but fun.

We tried a lot of different things. The highlights were the grilled beef tagliata and chocolate torta. The beef was perfectly cooked, tender and complimented by a drizzle of reduced balsamic vinegar. The torta had a delicious, crisp, chocolate base and a rich, creamy topping. The richness of the torta was well balanced by a generous dollop of creme fraiche.

We were less impressed with the burrata dish and the two pasta dishes. The Ricotta Cavatelli needed more lemon and the cacio e pepe needed more cheese. The flavors could have been more powerful.

Overall a good meal. We’re interested in trying the affiliated pizza place next door.

While one of our favorite restaurants, we haven't been to either Mozza in way too long. After going this time, I can't imagine why that is. Everything is so good there. The portions are perfect; the flavors are outstanding, delicious, and wonderfully unique. Did I mention how much I love this place??? So yummy!!!
