Amazing ambience. Always request to sit inside. Don’t forget to order the French toast or you didn’t experience Openaire to its full potential. Everything we had was amazing. Steak with kimchi fried rice was very tender and filling. Chicken sausage was amazing. Only bad thing was the potatoes which were too crispy. Overall, great date spot. 10000% recommend this place.
It was so good and they were so accommodating. Loved it!
Fantastic fresh Food! Everything was exquisite!
Such a wonderful experience in one of the prettiest places. Service and food were exceptional.
THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAD WAS THAT THEY DIDN'T ASK ME HOW I PREFER MY STEAK. I WAS BROUGHT A PIECE OF MEAT STILL BLOODY WHEN I PREFER IT MEDIUM WELL.
The views are great, food was ok, service not so much. Maybe they were short-staffed for the night, but did not get checked on the table and had to request certain things twice for them to come out. By the time they came to check up on us, the food gets cold. Unfortunate as the place looks amazing.
Our initial reservation was cancelled, not sure if it was by the restaurant or by open table, but we had to make a new one for later on. When we arrived we had to wait, and they didn’t honor our outdoor reservation and sat us inside instead. One of our food items was late and when we brought it up to our waiter we got some weird complaint about the kitchen being behind and him saying the manager should’ve come talked to us but didn’t. It was just weird - we don’t need you to complain to us or cast shade on your coworkers, it’s unprofessional. The food was good, but our cocktails were extremely inconsistent. Meaning we kept ordering the same ones and every time it would show up in a different glass and taste differently than the last. The waiter also made some comments about issues with the bar. Overall it was an expensive meal and the experience just wasn’t worth it.
Had a reservation for standard seating in the greenhouse, showed up on time and waited 20 minutes before I finally had to ask the host if we could finally be seated. Was ignored. Asked again a few minutes later and was told “I can try but we’re booked.” I said “well yes, we have a booking.” We finally got seated, outdoors, asked for a heater. No one came to turn it on. Flagged down a busboy to help, he was very kind and helpful. Waitress showed up once to bring water, flagged her down about 20 minutes later to try to order food. Only saw her again when she brought the check without having asked us anything about the food (that other servers brought) or checking on us (or asking if we were ready for the check at all). Portions were incredibly small, my friend had to order a second entree. Drinks were lacking as well.
This entire place is unorganized. From the unreasonable waiting time, the basic food, and hectic service it’s just not an enjoyable place to grab a meal in Los Angeles.
13/10 I would recommend coming here. The food is great, the drinks were amazing, and the service!!! Ok, please if you ever come, ask for Trey. He was/is the absolute best!!! I’m coming back & when I do, I’m coming back for him! He was so sweet and patient with my friend and I. I’m so needy and he was so quick and kind with everything I asked for. Best recommendations, the Nebbiolo wine was delish. Squash flowers and tuna tartare were so tasty and a good portion. I loved the tagliatelle, only wish I had more room in my belly. I would have devoured it.
Anyways, don’t forget to ask for Trey. He’s amazing and will make your experience at Openaire that much richer. And tip your servers y’all! We are still in covid-times! Ok, done. See you all again soon. Thank you for the good food & vibes 💕
Waiter was very rude and impolite. Therefore, I cancelled the order of foods and left right away.
Worst experience in LA. We were sat down in the outside section and no one came to check on us while parties sat after us had already ordered and received their drinks. We noticed they were all inside the greenhouse so we requested to be moved inside. They did allow us this and when we sat down inside they only brought us water. We waited another 20 minutes with just water and no server ever stopped by for anything else. We ended up just leaving
I attended for brunch. The menu is very limited and simple meat substitutions for basic breakfast dishes wasn’t allowed. Also the service was extremely sub par. I watched a waitor take the order of 3 other tables and ask me to hold on instead of getting the check with register right behind me and the table has been cleared for 10 mins prior. It was lackluster especially for the price point.
We came here for my daughters birthday. We reserved for standard seating- meaning for inside the greenhouse but then they sat us outside. Then we ordered our appetizer and had to flag down our waiter to order our main course. We got the bottomless Bloody Mary and it took a while until the refills came… not sure if this was a tactic so that we won’t drink so much?! Anyways it was very annoying! The sun was in our faces …food was ok, our server forgot about us pretty much…or maybe he was swamped? We were really excited to come here but will never come back…totally not worth it..
Amazing Service. Our server went above and beyond in recommending our food.
I made a reservation for 8 for my birthday and 2 spouses wanted to come so I sent a request for 10 where it was directed on the site for larger parties. It was outside and I was so disappointed when we were broken up into 2 tables of 5. I haven’t seen my friends in 2 years so it was pretty disappointing to not sit all together outside.
The server was so unprofessional. No one came to our table for 10 minutes (and 8 of us had to wait before because being seated they wouldn’t seat us until all 10 were there) so I went to the bar and asked for them to please bring champagne since it was my birthday and it would be the fastest thing to serve since no one had come to our table to take our order. Finally a server brought out a bottle of cava and I asked if they had champagne and he said loudly and rudely in front of everyone “We have a bottle of champagne. It’s $250, do you want that?” When I asked for other options he said he didn’t know or any and he wouldn’t pour the bottle so we ended up pouring it ourselves. I’m wondering if he knew he was guaranteed a service fee tip because it was a large party and just didn’t care or if he was overwhelmed and the restaurant was understaffed. No matter what the reason, it put a damper on my birthday celebration and was very embarrassing for me to be treated like that in front of friends.
The saving grace was the FOOD WAS AMAZING but main courses were brought out before starters, several people did not get what they ordered, water was not refilled, it took many requests to order more drinks. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and the quality of the food was excellent but I would not go back because of the poor service.
My friends treated my fiancé and I for recently getting engaged. Making a reservation was easy through OpenTable.
The food was good but the portions are quite small. I suggest ordering multiple sides. The food came out quickly but our server was forgetful with our drinks. A saving grace: the drinks. They’re tasty and strong. I would come back for brunch.
Portions are very small which is good and bad- you can try everything but you also get left wanting more. One dish came out late and after everything else so all sides were gone. Our waiter was excellent. Unfortunately they ran out of the wine we were drinking and comped a dessert in place. Beautiful setting.
Lovely atmosphere. Food was delicious. Parking is pricey as it is only valet and minimum $11 for up to 2 hrs. Wish the
The noise level was moderate as first but got loud when the place got full. The service is good but I was expecting some description of the food that the place is providing. Even when asked, it was a dry explanation of what we are ordering.
I would like to start by saying the scenery was so beautiful and green. The service was amazing, everyone was so kind and helpful. The drinks were delicious but the food was subpar at best and for the prices it honestly makes it not worth it.
waiter was fantastic
This place is really nice and perfect for brunch. However, I do think they need to become more organized when it comes to honoring there reservation and seating. We had reservation at 12 on a Saturday which I made a month in advanced. We didn’t get seated til 12:45 and we seated outdoors and then had to get transferred to our table inside. They were very nice about it but getting seated 45 minutes after our reservation and on top of that them not trying to honor or indoor reservation was a bit frustrating and not the dining experience I was hoping for.
I had to ask for everything that I ordered twice before it was delivered to my table
Food was ehhh, not impressive at all. The look of the place was great but way too crowded with instagramers. Good to go once but not worth the hype.
I never write reviews but this was absolutely the best dinner I have had in a LONG time. LA is full of great cuisine but this one really hit different. Maybe it was coming on a Friday after a long week of work, but the vibes were relaxing, the servers were all attentive and accommodating, and the food came out fast. My friend and I ordered the patatas bravas, butter lettuce salad, and wagyu sirloin to share, and two cocktails. Definitely on the pricier side, but it was worth every dime for an occasional night out. I would come here for a date or family dinner too. The food itself surpassed all of my expectations. I was skeptical because the servings seemed small, but when we finished we felt the perfect amount of “full” (aka no food coma but very satisfied). Cleared all the dishes with no problem. The butter lettuce salad was fresh with the perfect amount of vinaigrette, the wagyu melted in my mouth, and the potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. Unfortunately we ate it super fast so I couldn’t take photos, but I guess that’s a sign that it was good. I also appreciated that our server took initiative and asked about allergies ahead of time (I always forget to bring it up) and reminded us about parking validation (by the way, valet is $11 for the first 2 hours).
All in all, Openaire is the quintessential, classic LA upscale dining experience nestled inside a trendy hotel where you can also dress down and not feel bad. I’m not a huge fan of white tablecloth restaurants but the food quality made me feel like I was at one. We’re already planning on coming back for repeat Friday dinners, even if it might put a little dent in our wallets. I’ll recommend this spot to anyone visiting or looking for date night ideas.
I was dining with a friend that I haven’t seen in 10 yrs. Our Service was rushed, they were out of product and there was a lack of knowledge about wine. Won’t be going back.
Poor presentation, mediocre service and very very bland food. Way overpriced.
My first time here and thoroughly enjoyed date night. Joaquim and his team took great care of us. The food was amazing, all shareables, chef sure knows how to keep those flavors impressing from one dish to the other. How can patatas bravos be that yum!!! Will be back for more :)
Nice restaurant but unfortunately their entire wine list is unavailable and only bottles that are $80 more expensive are magically available 🤷♀️
Beer salad was extraordinary 🌺 wagu steak was outrageous - loved everything
Lovely ambiance. Food didn’t reach the level I was expecting... the price for the quality and quantity wasn’t coherent. Good dessert. Will try again for brunch... hopefully we get a better impression!
It was a holiday so they were short staffed but very kind and we were patient. I loved everything off the top half of the menu. But the entrees and larger dishes were not too impressive and the dessert also lacked innovation. Overall it was a cute place loved the atmosphere and I’ll go back just ordered a whole lot of small plates instead.
Great and friendly service, excellent food and good ambiance
Loved the atmosphere and the food. Fresh, healthy delicious.
Our service started out great. The host was amazing with making sure we were comfortable while waiting for our table (we were really early). Our first server was super helpful and constantly checked in on us and replenished our bottomless drinks. However, he was switched out with a different waitress who introduced herself and then ...never came back. Like 40 minutes went by. No refills on our bottomless bloody mary’s. No seeing how our food was. No asking if we needed anything. When she finally did, we asked for the check..& she gave us the wrong one. So overall, I love the vibe of the place, but probably won’t be back because of the service.
The place is really pretty but for the prices the food was mediocre. I would suggest going for cocktails and the ambience.
Loved our server, He was super sweet and accommodating. I will go back, however will choose to eat inside, for the experience.
Such a true oasis in the middle of urban site.
The food really worth the price. Delicious and exciting!
The atmosphere in the Redbird is just peaceful yet lively. I really enjoyed my time here.
Everything was perfect - the food, drinks, ambiance, and staff. Would highly recommend.
