Christmas Eve dinner w family
The Baked Salmon was delicious, tender and seasoned wonderfully. Also excellent: the bruscetta, cauliflower in cheese sauce, spinach & arugula salad with pears, and tiramisu. Service was wonderful, prompt but not rushed. We will be back!
Best place in Orange County Mauro and Massimo are the best
Great customer service and great food. I️ would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great authentic Italian food.
Fresh ingredients and great wines.
Always good. Nice atmosphere to entertain a conversation with guests
Great food and excellent service. Visited a couple times and will be back again.
Enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and dessert. The place has a view of the vineyard in the front of the building and we were entertained by raccoons stealing grapes from the vines; an unexpected "floor show". The restaurant is also decked out with Halloween themed creations; would be great for a party.
Food was excellent and the menu provided many special items that you might not find in some Italian Restaurants. Very extensive Wine list that was reasonably priced. Appetizer Special was excellent and unique.
Greatly reduced lunch menu compared to the past.
Definitely felt like Groupon customers. Once they serve you no one comes back to check on you. Wine was good. Salad way over dressed and just lettuce. Appetizers not very flavorful. Fish was good.
This is one of our go-to restaurants in Orange County. The ambience is ideal: comfortable and homey, like having dinner at a friend's country house in Italy. The wine list has a large range of offerings, with good wines at every price point. The food is yummy, and the service is warm and unobtrusive. Always a pleasure.
This was a wonderful experience. We were seated looking out at grape vines. Just a wonderful atmosphere. Excellent service with excellent food and excellent wine. What else can I say?
Had been there for lunch and enjoyed it very much. Great time for dinner and was very disappointed. Ordered the calamari entree and it was awful. The calamari was so overcooked it was like rubber and the polenta had no flavor. The seafood stew was ok but nothing to save about and the risotto with shrimp was fine. The wedge salad was able. The cucumber melon salad was good. Having had this experience I will not be back! So, I say don't bother with this restaurant. Go somewhere else.
Really good food that is sourced from their garden. It is a special occasion kind of place. We went at 5 with our 1 year old, and I wouldn't recommend taking a baby during peak times. The couple next to us was celebrating their anniversary and we felt bad that we had a loud little one. Great food and great ambiance!
Wine knowledge is top notch
Everything we tasted was superb
They aren't flattering themselves on their tiramisu - it's the best we've ever had
Menu diversity gives us a reason to return soon
Excellent new find for pre-theatre in Costa Mesa area. Octopus ceviche superb! So was charcuterie.
Buratta was amazing! Risotto with black truffles, YES PLEASE! Perfect filet mignon. What else can you say? Amazing service to boot...
Absolutely incredible dining experience. Mauro led us through a taste of authentic Italian cuisine I never knew existed. The food was incredible, the service impeccable and the environment wonderful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique dining experience alone, as a couple or with a few friends.
Had used open table and said it was an Anniversary celebration. No mention of it at all- disappointed.
Pasta was terribly salty and al dente
We went on a Wednesday evening and it was not crowded at all, we were looking for a bit more happy hour atmosphere, but the food was excellent and creative. The décor was old world Italian and very nice. I would go back for a date night with my husband.
We come here somewhat regularly and love the food. Great service, too.
Wonderful dining experience . Will recommend highly. Will go back again for sure.
Our go-to restaurant in Costa Mesa and one of our favorites anywhere in the world. Great food, wonderful wines and fun, knowledgeable people. Chef Massimo is an encyclopedia of knowledge regarding wine, food, healthy eating ... and music. His passion is contagious and we love learning from him. A special team with a special leader. I highly recommend getting to know Onotria.
This little GEM is one of my favorites and it lived up to it's reputation on my last visit here with not only the great food & wine, but the interaction with the fabulous wait staff and Massimo the owner. They make dining an experience!
Summer truffle season-always look forward to it at Onotria. Delicious fettuccini in marscspone sauce with these truffles shaved over-always a fav! Best whole branzino out there.
Romantic dinner with my Girl.
Always dependable for great food and great service place an excellent wine list
The food is amazing! The Orange, Fennel, Cucumber, Avocado salad with citrus vinaigrette was delicious and refreshing! The Branzino was incredible, just wonderful, already craving it again. The cauliflower au gratin not to rich, just perfect and was an outstanding compliment to the Branzino. And the final topper is that they have the absolute best Tiramisu anywhere in Orange County, and I've had a lot of tiramisu in my day. Just the best meal I've had in a long time. Raymundo our server was a pleasure and truly on his game, well ask for him again for sure he completed the whole experience.
Good food. A bit pricey. Tall, open volume lacks intimacy; feels a bit too IHOP. Decor helps to compensate a bit.
Very friendly server and great food. Good variety for lunch menu.
This is a special place. Truly a chef-run experience, where each dish has plenty of character. As the name says, think of it as special Italian/classic wine country experience. It will not disappoint. I am not sure if they keep the menu the same, but the lamb chops were amazing, as was the tiramisu. That being said, I don't think thought anything was not good.
We went on a mother's day, so the service was bit slow, but understandable since there were lots of big groups. We enjoyed our waiter, whose recommendations were spot-on. Huuuge wine menu.
The location is a bit out of the 'fancy' area, but I actually think it made for a great value. I loved that sense of a 'find.'
Food and ambiance was great. Excellent service. Owner is very passionate about the wines and very informative. Really enjoyed the evening.
Amazing dining and Tuscan atmosphere. You feel like you are somewhere in the wine country in Italy. The entrée selections are very unique and the ingredients are very original.
What an amazing evening. The chef and owner Massimo is truly a master of food, wine and service. Can't say enough fabulous things about his restaurant. A must experience dining event!!!
He also makes his own wine and you can order bottles to talk home. I have an 875 bottle Celler and his wine is a wonderful add it my extensive collection.
Hours flew by as we pared wine and food together in a tour of Italy through food and wine.
We will definitely be back soon!!! You should too!!!
Charming rustic setting. Amazing wine list with wines of all prices.
Charged $50 corkage and needed 3 requests before our waiter opened our wine. Food average at best. Will not return.
True wine country experience in Orange County. One of my favorite restaurants in California.
Rigatoni - horrid . Had kale or some bulks=÷× in it. Claims to be Italian restaurant. Don't fall for it. . Bright in there since only 5:30. Invest in drapes. Waiter came to table and stuck his hand out to shake and greet - so weird, plus yuck! Once and out.
Wonderful dinner, great experience!!! Chef very friendly and informative. We will be back
The calamari entree was excellent, and the steak also. However the ahi tuna with fresh kale was ruined having a lot of chopped raw garlic. This completely masked the flavor of the ahi.
