i don’t even know where to begin. our waitress was rude and dismissive to us. we were brought plastic forks/spoons to eat with, then we noticed other tables received actual silverware and chopsticks and we had to ask for that. what kind of restaurant thinks it’s okay to let people pay $50+/person and make them dine with plastic forks & spoons? the food wasn’t even that good, definitely not worth the money. our table was still filthy when we sat down and we had to get someone to wipe it off again, and she barely did it and didn’t even get the food off of it from the previous table so she had us wipe it ourselves (which is fine) but again was rude about it. we were rushed to get up and leave after our we were finishing up, but for what? there was no one waiting and half the restaurant was open. not a good experience at all. do not recommend this place.
Great service food selection was good pricy but worth it
Really great service and selection, sever and owner were really polite and helpfull. Overall really great experience!
Came in for lunch w my daughter. Enjoyed the small sampler which was so filling we had to pack leftovers.
Our server was our server from other times we’ve been here. We love him. Everything about Ombu is always awesome. We won’t go anywhere else for Korean bbq
The ultimate meat/Korean grilling experience. Only complaint is that the acoustics for the space are too good and it got a bit loud (for carrying on a casual conversation).
Now I am not the type to write reviews but the service here was really bad and the food isn’t worth that price.
Ana provided great service and the food was awesome !
Nice place for a group. Food was pretty good. I really liked the brisket. I will be returning.
They Had the perfect private room for all 16 of us everything was great
Had High expectations and was very disappointed, the service sucked, the server told us to hurry and order because they had a big group he had to take orders for, after asking for TWO booster seats they said they only had ONE in the whole restaurant which my toddler had to seat with out a booster or high chair, waters were never refilled, servers took forever to even come and ask us how everything was going, napkins were never brought after asking, rice never got to us until the end. Horrible experience GEN KOREAN BBQ IS 10xs better in service, food and price.
We were greeted immediately. The meat was marinated and cooked to perfection, and the side portion was huge. I highly recommend.
What a fun experience. The staff was helpful in how to best cook out meats and the place was nice. Totally would go back! If you like Korean bbq, you’ll love Ombu!
Reservation was for 8:30, waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes before being acknowledged even though I clearly stated I had a reservation for 8:30. Was led to booth 25 minutes later. Ordered the small sampler, 30 minutes later they asked what I ordered because they “forgot”. Took over 45 minutes to receive food/meats. I was attended by 3 different servers and there was a clear lack of communication. We food was received I asked our first server for a tofu seafood soup. She said she would check with the kitchen even though it’s on the menu. I never got an answer back or she never put the order in. The second server who brought the meats set the grill extremely high and the meat was stuck onto the grill . After repeatedly asking for them to turn down the heat, 3 servers just came and went without really listening to my requests. I asked for a second bowl of rice and the server “forgot” and brought it after my meal was done. The grill heat/flame was only lowered just before the end of the meal. Pretty much most of the meat was burned as a result. I had high expectations at it was definitely not worth the money spent there. I been to cheaper all you can eat Korean bbq that give 5 star service. Absolutely disappointed
Great staff amazing food
Ombru grill has very tasty food and friendly staff.
Great food. The service could have been better and more well prepared for a Mother’s Day special occasion. My table had to constantly keep reminding our waitress to take our order, bring us our drinks, and wave her down when we needed her. I would never come back here again. The food was delicious though!
We dined here for mother's day and while the staff was friendly, the food was awful at the price charged. $450 for 6 people, and again, the food was like grocery store KBBQ. We live in Irvine, and our city has way better KBBQ, at a fraction of the cost.
I knew what the cost would be so that was not a surprise - but at that price, I expected food to taste much better than what we had, in terms of freshness, and taste. The seafood tasted like rubber dipped in salt. Our whole group don't know how this place was rated 4 out of 5 on Yelp.
The atmosphere was a lot louder and more like other KBBQ places than the pictures let on. Showed up for our 7PM reservation for Mother's Day and had to wait a while to be seated anyway, and it was a very long time before they took our order. One of the two meat options was unavailable, as was a dish included in the Mother's Day Special. They only just said they ran out and there was no alternative offered or discount given. They were clearly understaffed which is understandable, and the staff tried their best, but I did feel the reviews and pictures were pretty misleading.
Overpriced, poor food, plastic forks for a $70 per person meal
Staff needs to be more attentive to guests. Food was OK - non alcoholic drinks are very limited (Coke/Sprite/Water)
Food was the best. The meat was just 100% delicious.
they were awesome and really attentive
They were a bit short staffed, but they really did the best they could!
The chadol and the Asado were amazing!
we like this place . . the service is great . . could be more sake options in the future :)
This was an AMAZING experience. Everything was delicious, the Asado and Bulgolgi were mouthwatering. We initially had a reservation in Santa Monica that we missed, so we were looking for other places and we came across this one. Expensive at first, but I’m so glad we went through with it. The service was stellar, they cooked the food for us, and the banchan was ayce and just amazing. Definitely coming back here again. You can’t put a price on a memorable date night.
It was a great experience in a sense but they have to work on their customer service as well as patience
Had to wait forever for any side dishes to be refilled and then even longer to get the check. The empanadas were delicious but the Korean dishes were just so-so (and we were at our at Korean restaurants a lot). Way too loud inside. Had to ask 3 times for refills on the side dishes and never got a water refill. Sorry but we won’t go back.
Had the sampler menu for two and then ordered a couple of extra dishes as there was 3 of us. Ordered too much but not too bad value
Like that they state that there is a time limit to use a reserved table. It was clear and would have liked to have more time at the restaurant.
Service was Okay, they did not refill water and did not refill sides as stated at the beginning. Guess they got busy.
Liked that they made sure that items were cooked properly
AMAZING experience. It is not an all you can eat kbbq and thus it is pricier, but I 100% say it is worth it. You can make reservations and everyone goes above and beyond to accommodate as much as possible. 10/10 best Kbbq in LA
Quick service, delish food and great amounts of it!, fun ambiance
The restaurant was empty, no music...
The food was okay but not great. I’m used to high quality meet and this meat was okay but not really good.
The service was okay
The price was expensive vs quality
The course for 2 was well worth it!! They give you so much meat.
Good! But birthday wasn’t recognized.
Absolutely delicious Korean barbecue and the best, nicest service. The meats were perfect and the server was so attentive. If we ever wanted more of the side dishes she would bring them, and she showed us how to mix the various dishes, and was perfect at barbecuing the meat in the middle of the table. It was so much fun and such a great experience. Highly recommend. We had the small dinner for two people and it was a great value and so much good food! Valet parking is $5 in front.
I came on a Saturday night with my date and they were way understaffed which made the experience terrible, but the food was good. My waiter was not attentive at all. Had to basically beg for his attention, I honestly wanted to walk out and try another kbbq since service is the most important aspect to business in hospitality. I booked an tasting experience through open table and tried to tell him as not familiar with the cuisine he just left mid conversation many times. I was patient with him as there seem to be a bit of a language barrier I suppose but good service can make an mediocre tasting food taste better. Their service made everything horrible to me and embarrassing for me and my date. I would love to try again with a different waiter.
We had such a great time. I can’t wait to go back !
We sat outside and had a blast.
Really cute spot with great portion sizes
Such a treat to have Valentine’s Day dinner at Ombu. Staff was super nice, facilities were clean and food was great.
