Such a treat to have Valentine’s Day dinner at Ombu. Staff was super nice, facilities were clean and food was great.
Great service!
Great food and have done a good job maximizing outdoor space for Covid friendly dining. Seemed a bit understaffed, but understandable given the times. Highly recommended!
Do not follow proper social distance for table arrangements on the tent outside, which is by the way completely covered, nor really “outside”. Tables next to each other full with patrons
Came in for my fiancé’s birthday and felt profiled. I gave my name at the desk and was sat outside even though I requested indoor on my reservation. We felt uncomfortable being seat in a tight nook next to the door. No real separation. I went in to request the indoor seat that I reserved. I knew there were empty seats in since the was a couple seat at the closet table to the door and 1 other couple in the back. I asked the person for a indoor seat and she said “I asked you if you wanted inside” I responded “ no you didn’t you asked my name and ok one moment and walked away. She starts talking to the servers and now it’s a big deal. She’s and the guy serving us was almost yelling in their language about what’s going on. When I asked to move, we weren’t served yet so I figured it was ok and the was a request from my Asian Fiancé for her birthday as stated in the reservation and I needed it to be just right. I don’t understand why it was a big deal to move and it also reflected in the service. We were sat inside and then had to wait 50 mins to get the sides on the table. It was a very uncomfortable experience one I wouldn’t recommend. As I paid for the tab he stood there and watched me. I am a 37 year old man, who understands how rude of a gesture that is. The disrespect was on many levels.
Love the food, drinks are amazing, definitely going again
Worst service of my life
Impromptu dinner with friends.
Good service
This restaurant was a random selection do to most Korean barbecue still do not have outdoor dining or reservations. So when it popped up on my Yelp I decided to go with it. It was that easy reservation many available spots. When we got there we were seated immediately. By the time we received waters and appetizers it took around 20 minutes. The service was very slow meanwhile it was only like five tables that were occupied. They can grill the meat for you inside or they can bring you a portable grill and you can grill your own meat. To me this place is not worth the price it’s too expensive for average food.Although the ambience inside was pretty beautiful hopefully when indoor dining starts would be a better experience.Did I mention by the time they brought our main course it took an average of 40 minutes we were starving.
Exceeded all my expectations :)
Friendly staff! Will come back.
Great food great experience
Amazing service and then the food! So good all around!
We got food poising after visiting this place unfortunately.
Their side dishes need to improve. They only give you cheap side dishes that do not go well with such expensive, high quality meat. You will get way better side dishes at ayce kbbq somewhere else.
Food was great, service was slow. Overall good experience would come back
Delicious Korean BBQ. Didn't have a chance to eat the Argentinian meat because it was going to take 45 minutes but KBB was delicious anyway. Service was top notch and place is really nice to entertain clients or non-Korean friends.
Lovely dinner - great range of options. Delicious food and fantastically helpful service from Denton - thank you! White wine list could use some work and they were out of one of them.
The restaurant is in a quite niche. We were met with valet parking. There was ample seating. The waiter Goode was Marvelous. Our entrees were continuously coming and he actually did the cooking at our table. It was entertaining and romantic. I would recommend this place to anybody. 'LA new found secret.'
AMAZING. Always amazed by the service and food. Can't wait to go back. My family always enjoys our time here.
Ombu Grill in Koreatown was a nice experience. Three of us dined there on a Sunday night. Probably only one other table of 2 when we arrived. Not sure anyone else ever came in after that. Our waiter was charming and helpful, and while others were friendly, communication was a little more difficult with them. We picked an item which had 5 different cuts of beef, all very good, cooked over a grill in the table with about 12 to 15 typical Korean side dishes. They also have Argentinian specialties but they all need 1 hour preparation time so we weren’t able to sample as much as we would have liked to. Beer and wine only. Valet parking available in the strip center. Well appointed restaurant.
It’s a very cheap taste, feel, ambience, but the bill was on par, so was the bill, the price rating for this place is misleading. It’s a cheap, not a premium place.
Korean food!!! Great, as always. The service could be more available, but that could just be personal preference.
My first Korean BBQ experience. Staff was helpful and food was very good. Had to ask for some items that came with our combo that didn’t get served but other than that service was good. Would go again.
Denton was extremely courteous and friendly. He made our family get together special. Service is excellent and the food is delicious. Valet parking is affordable.
stuck in LA overnight at end of business trip with an early flight to east coast... my travelling partner and I said "lets get some Korean BBQ". Went to OT and found Ombu.... Dinner was terrific... the host helped us pick a simple chef's choice type menu so we got a little of everything . Great food and some good shochu...
The quality of the food, service, and restaurant was over the roof! Can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful decor. They grilled every piece of meat and service was top notch. More expensive than most places so take people here to impress.
Found this restaurant on google and am so happy we tried it! Everyone was so friendly and the service was fantastic! The food was excellent, and they helped us cook the food at our table. Would definitely love to come back and bring new friends along. Excellent experience and would highly recommend.
Clean and good.
Ombu Grill's meat quality is off the charts. That alone is what makes it worth going to.
Empty restaurant on Saturday night at 8 PM... Yet they "ran out" of two of the dishes we wanted to order. Food was mediocre, fried rice was good. Service was attentive, as expected with an empty restaurant. Overall decent food but better K-town options.
A bit pricey coz of quality of meat. If you want a fancy Korean BBQ, I would definitely recommend it.
Great service and good food
There was way too much garlic in the food. The waiters got frustrated with us, as it seemed that they didn't understand us that well... Maybe it was too authentic, but I don't remember Korean bbq being like this
High quality Korean BBQ with a great selection of items and wonderful service. Our waiter was particularly nice and friendly and playful. We had a great time and would highly recommend for a higher end Korean BBQ experience.
Birthday celebration
Love this place
Second time making reservations with open table & love this place. Our servers were very attentive. The food was amazing. Price was very reasonable. Definitely coming back.
Ordered the asado and penceta, both were too dry and bland.
