Okura Robata Grill and Sushi Bar serves up a fusion of Japanese and California cuisine in a chic contemporary restaurant space that has an L.A./Hollywood vibe. Custom décor includes gold Kriskadecor chains hanging from the ceiling, a 4-foot high bronze Buddha and a life-size, petrified Japanese cherry blossom tree at the center of the restaurant. A “Geisha Angel” mural adorns a wall in the bar.
Beyond an expansive sushi menu, there is something for everyone including skewers from the Robata Grill, Salads, Toban Yaki Steak, Tempura, Chicken, Beef and Fish Entrees, and of course, delicious desserts like Green tea Panna Cotta. The full bar features signature cocktails such as the Geisha Girl and Lychee Martini, as well as sake, wine and beer.

Excellent meal. Great rolls, love the Asian pear salad, a cucumber salad that is mostly cucumber and not full of seaweed! Amazing garlic edamame (save the sauce to mix with your soy sauce!) Fantastic blueberry lemon drops. Ask for Mickey he's super awesome!

We enjoyed the variety of menu items we ordered and shared. Nice room love the cherry blossom tree and art work in lounge. Just a bit loud, it’s like a big Hall. Not sure if anything can be done for some noise absorption 🤷🏼‍♀️ We will return to try a few other entrees in the future.

Overall dinning experience was good. We ordered a volcano roll with baked salmon and the salmon was over baked and a bit dry. We ordered I think the Marylin Monroe that comes with a spicy cilantro dressing on the side and the woman that delivered it didn’t say anything about pairing it with the Marylin, considering we had three different rolls on the plate. It wasn’t until our waiter came to check on us and we asked what the sauce was, that he told us it’s to go with the Marylin. Drinks were fantastic. Everything came out in good time.

Definitely order sushi here. The rolls are very good! But if you order the skewers the chicken was undercooked the veggies were almost non existent and what there was was burnt. The steak skewer was burnt along with the little bit of vegetables. The rolls are amazing!

Even though I had a reservation, i had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. They seated the two of us in a room off the bar with no other diners It felt like we were banished to the basement. I asked to be moved but was left alone for another wait. We finally decided to leave altogether. The hostess staff seems young and inexperienced. Not sure if I’ll ever return…Maybe just to seat myself at the bar.

This is the third time that my wife and I have tried Okura. We order 3 roll items and all three were underwhelming to both of us. We were very disappointed in the flavor or lack thereof. We have given up on Okura.

Great cocktails! Three of us had the Ginger Lemon Drop and one had the Old Fashion. Both were outstanding. Seaweed salad was best ever. We recommend the bacon wrapped scallops and all of the specialty sushi rolls. Server was very helpful with gluten-free selections for us as one of us has Celiac and cannot eat gluten. Patio was nice, but noisier than most and probably because of the concrete dome overhead echoing the noise.

As mentioned before by others the interior is very noise. We finally moved out to the patio area which is less noise level however there were two tables one of 20 and the other of 12 clients each which created high nose levels. Our sever Bruce Lee was a very nice guy but far to many clients to handle by himself in the entire patio area with a small amount of assistance from assistant waiters. The owners need to read all the reviews which have a comment theme.

Had a 8pm reservation and after getting a bit angry I was sat at 820pm. The place is packed. The black cod was very below average and the volcano was not good. Our waiter was lovely and really tried to be helpful. Had to ask for silverware and chop sticks. The hostess both are not professional.

The food and service was very good. Everyone is very attentive to our table. The place has a nice selection on the menu, so anyone not wanting sushi will have plenty of options. We only wish they would turn up the lighting just a bit, it is so dark inside. Overall, we will enjoy coming back!

Sat on patio, indoor very loud. Friends leaving for the season, wanted to have a nice conversation. Food was delicious, but service very spotty. Felt as though waitress forgot about us.

Four of us dined. We ordered a salad and one appetizer. The salad came out before the main courses but the appetizer skewer of chicken came out with the mains and was cold. (It was taken off the bill at least) The Caesar salad was just lettuce with a wasabi dressing. It was marginal. I ordered a sushi sampler but it was clearly not freshly made. It seemed as if at had been plated at noon and stuck in the refrigerator. Then they failed to add the garnishes of wasabi and ginger. Our friend’s black cod was very good as was the salmon. The whiskey ginger smash was good. The waitstaff was pleasant if apparently overwhelmed. The room was packed and extremely loud. I have had better dining experiences there so I was most disappointed.
