Okonomiyaki CHIBO Restaurant
Okonomiyaki is basically a “pancake” consisting of flour, egg, cabbage and mountain yams, with ingredients which you can choose off our menu. Once cooked the okonomiyaki is topped off with okonomiyaki sauce, a Japanese version of plum sauce, a mayonnaise sauce, seaweed powder and dried bonito flakes.
Okonomiyaki Chibo opened in Hawaii in 1990. Chibo is part of a popular chain in Japan with over 60 locations. Recently locations have been opened in Hanoi, Bangkok and Manila. We specialize in Okonomiyaki and Teppanyaki.
The Okonomiyaki CHIBO is excellent
everything is good but tip is little expensive
I think 30$ for an okonomiyaki is a bit expensive till I realized see my wife and I split only one and took the other home. They are rather thick so if you're not starving then just split it and add the garlic rice.
Nice to sit at the teppanyaki bar and watch the skilled chef at work. It’s not a show here, just skill. Lovely food of highest quality.
Very kind service, food was fresh
Everything was good
Good Food, Flavor
Delicious food but overpriced. Everything was super small portions and meal cost was high for this place. We had to sit outside because their AC was broken and with the hot grills they used only made the place extremely hot.
Fun and excellent cooking - great food and service
For the prices, the okonomiyaki was not worth it. It was $24 for a pork and cheese okonomiyaki that was the size of a medium plate. It was thick and kinda doughy in the middle. Maybe my expectations were too high since I’ve lived in Japan and ate okonomiyaki before. The service was good but I will not be going here again.
Food was perfectly prepared fresh very delicious we will be back very authentic experience
Very attentive waitstaff
Quiet on arrival at 7pm but that meant we had time to chat with the chef, who was good at engaging in conversation but also leaving us to ourselves. We sat at the teppan table so could see him at work. By the time we left the restaurant had filled up. Food was delicious.
First time at the new place. Smaller than I expected but still the same great food and service. We will definitely be back again and again and again.
We appreciated this teppanyaki restaurant so much because we were not looking to be entertained like other teppanyaki establishments. The chef was given the ingredients to our order, he cooked it, asked how we wanted our dishes topped off, served us, and done. The waiters checked on us a good amount of times to ensure we were served well. The price is higher than I had hoped, but I would still come back to pay for the quality AND the service.
Great restaurant with delicious menu and friendly attentive staff. Will absolutely be back.
Our waiter and chef were very polite and considerate of my special requests. Ribeye and Yakisoba were delicious!
Freshness of ingridents is very good.
Desert is very good.
Yaki soba was not my style but okonomitaki was really good
Overall, I recommend this
We visited on mother’s day. We sat at the front grill. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back.
Amazing place. The food is great and the staff are super friendly. We went twice in the week we were there and they remembered us and treated us great. Will definitely go next time we are in Oahu!
Cool experience, great service and food!
Overall' atmosphere and taste are so nice
We love this place! Have been coming here for years! Much smaller than their previous Waikiki location, but food and service remain top-notch!
It was great. We have been going there for about 27 years.
The restaurant is about 1/5th the size of the original location. While dining there a majority of the time staff was vacuuming off the floor some liquid coming from the womens restroom. This was in the dining area. The womens restroom was closed down forcing thr women to use the mens room. We sat close to the reatroom door. Very unpleasant.
The food was great, no, i meant excellent. We ordered two different "dining for two" (which fed four of us) sets which is highly recommended. Steak cubes were very tasty and tender.
A past favorite at their prior location at the royal hawaiian shopping center, this new location will probably not be visited by us again until they relocate.
Very disappointed with their signature "okonomiyaki" -- for those who enjoy the Hiroshima version, this pancake was lacking in ingredients and too much dough. For the price I paid, it was very small. Will not return.
Went for my boyfriend’s 24th birthday, and the service we received was AMAZINGGGGG. The staff was very attentive and friendly. My boyfriend and I was just talking stories with our chef and waiters as if they were long time friends of ours. Definitely coming back because of the flawless service.
This place is a tourist trap. $9 for 6 pieces of "gyoza." It's disrespectful to even call it gyoza. It was just folded dumpling wrap with a tiny scrap of filling. Might as well go to Costco to get the frozen gyoza that comes with a lot more and tastes better and has actual filling.
The okonomiyaki was overpriced for the size. $23 for their one okonomiyaki can get me 5 okonomiyakis in Japan.
The chef was nice and I don't blame him for the food since he just cooks it. Whoever made this menu is just trying to fool all the tourists and should be ashamed of themselves. Please reevaluate this establishment.
