First visit to Ognisko for nearly two years! Service still good. Lovely Polish dishes - nicely presented and large portions. Monday evening visit so still a bit quieter than usual.
Went for my one year anniversary Such a lovely dining experience! The food and wine was amazing, the staff were lovely. I will definitely be back.
Deliciously different food, great wine, lovely place for a pre-Proms meal!
We are not new diners at Ognisko. That is because we enjoy it so much. The food is great and an education, the wines are reasonably priced and the staff are both helpful and efficient. The bar is one of the best.
Simply perfect…. Thank you
I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family
It’s always a great night out here. Fantastic atmosphere as always, great food, lovely friendly staff, and incredible cocktails. Amazing value for money.
My sister was down from Glasgow with her husband
We went with our 92 year old Mum and had the best time ever
Lovely ambiance on the Outdoor Terrace
And the food! 😋😋😋 The best Pierogi we’ve ever eaten including Home Made! They were light and delicious
The Pork Escalope was great too as were the Placki with Kaszanka
We’ll definitely be returning ASAP
Lovely setting and better than most places near the museums. But the service was poor - except from the male server, food was nice but not very exciting
Service should be more friendly, food was nice , nothing incredible to go back,
Had a wonderful evening at Ognisko. Interesting menu, a choice of traditional Polish recipes, some with great updates, alongside classic fish and meat courses. The only (small) negative are the toilets, way fdown in the basement and a few doors away from the open-door kitchen.
Overall it was a good experience. The stuff was nice and qualified. The food was good and the price for it was decent, especially for such a fancy looking place. It was just awkward as a Polish person, because soemtimes the stuff would speak in English and sometimes in Polish and we were a but confused at times what language should we speak, especially because overall 4 people served us. But besides that there was nothing wrong with this place and I would recommend it.
I was impressed by my first visit to Ognisko and I hope it won't be my last. The menu is extensive and attractive, the food very good and the service fine. The restaurant, housed in the Polish Club, has a wonderful old worldly ambience. We did sit outside - a great choice until the rain came down with such force that, sitting on the outer fringes of the covered area, became a damp and noisy choice. We retreated indoors! Overall, a lovely lunch. I recommend Ognisko.
Great good, prices not too bad, felt a little forgotten about by staff but that’s it
Lovely food as usual but service disappointing, perhaps it slipped as maitre de not there
Gorgeous food - I recommend the chlodnik and the potato pancakes and the cucumber/yoghurt misuria. The cocktails are heaven & the service impeccable.
Ognisko Restaurant, aka Polish Club, was a staple of my father from the 80s and it never fails to please. The food is always well prepared: for mains we had Chicken Kiev and Gravadlax: the starter salads are unusual (artichoke peach and cheese) and delicious - accompanied by great continental-style bread. We had a glass of house white wine: a feature of this restaurant has always been modestly priced, good house wine: but th eexcellent range of Polish beers is always a temptation. Dieting meant that only one of us had the chocolate mousse. We dined out on the terrace, which is glorious and quiet in the summer. Highly recommended for lunch: dinner, in the grand main dining room is quite an experience: it retains the feel of "Mitteleuropa".
We had a table at the terrace which was lovely as the evening was nice and warm.(July ).
We absolutely loved our starters: potato pancake with spicy chicken livers, kopytka (potato dumplings/ gnocchi) with wild mushrooms sauce as well as marinated herrings.
We were a bit disappointed about our mains. My rabbit was completely covered with sauerkraut and couldn’t taste the actual meat at all, and it had only a few tiny potato dumplings so it wasn’t really a complete main course. My friend was disappointed too, as she ordered a schnitzel with potatoes, but there was no salad with it, and overall there was no sauce so all felt dry. Back in Poland that’s not how we have it. In our opinion at least a small side salad , surówka or a cucumber salad (mizeria) should be served with it, without a super charge of £4.50.
Our desserts : pavlovas were delicious!
Service was very good to start with, but the later in the night the less attention we had. We were waiting 20mins just to get any attention and order some vodka shots, and another 20mins to get a bill, followed by further 10-15mins to pay the bill.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit, although the service was a little slow at times, probably because there was a wedding on. Having said that, it certainly gets the thumbs up. Great good and drink.
What a delight to find in London on an unusually hot summer day a restaurant with a large terrace overlooking a park. The food is modern mid-European, with some original Polish dishes. Also, there is a very reasonably priced set-menu. Service is excellent, good to see Janos from the Baltic(RIP) here, keeping the guets happy.
In my opinion the food was not particularly tasty or authentic.
Gorgeous location and ambience. Great cocktails and nice wine list. Quality of food good also. Service could be more attentive. Would still recommend this establishment.
Lovely place nice terrace but I’m sorry the food was just about Average I had Smoke eels to start was just potato the main was Pork escalopes was very Greasy dessert just ok we have to wait to have the main for the wine sorry but was no good Enough not cheap
Outstanding in all ways.
A wondeful venue that has been amazing through Covid with their upbeat messages and charity work.
They all continue to create a little more sunshine to our lives.
Ognisko is our favourite restaurant partly due to its proximity to the Albert Hall, more especially for its Polish menu and variety of vodka cocktails. The staff too are charming.
Fantastic and good quality food. A beautiful location and interior. Service excellent.
A very elegant historical restaurant .
Service and decorated to the highest level .
High standard in all areas. Smart and efficient yet a calm, un-rushed and casual dining experience. Terrace was lovely. Good delicious.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. Wonderful evening!
Lovely mix of traditional Polish and modern food to suit everyone in our party.
Delightful and knowledgable waiter who helped me with gluten free selections.
Lots of delicious vodka , enough cabbage/sauerkraut to be reminded of Babcia and super atmosphere in the restaurant.
Will make this a regular when we visit the big city.
Thank you for a special evening.
Really enjoyed my lunch with a friend at Ognisko. Unusual menu, but the choices we made were absolutely delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. Thank you.
As always, great service and a good value experience. The outside space is a joy.
Hearty traditional Polish food in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Good value.
Sophisticated but informal. Lovely to sit under cover on the terrace, overlooking the green open space behind.
Superb food and delightful terrace table. However, the service was very slow to deliver our first course. We arrived on time at 2pm, booked fairly quickly, but the first course arrived at 2.45. Too long. The mains arrived quickly after we had finished, dessert and coffee was managed well. Then it seemed to take ages to pay the bill - I had to ask twice. But the food and atmosphere was worth the waits and I look forward to visiting the restaurant again
A great meal - as always ! Food, ambience and service !
Disappointing experience! The restaurant was below average, poor ambience, food just ok. The staff seem quiet unenthusiastic and come across quiet rude. Expected more from restaurant like this.
Was really wonderful! Staff so nice ! Food amazing
Had a wonderful date night, the food was top notch - the schnitzel was the best I’ve ever had, the meat was so tender and the coating was nice and crispy. The homemade rhubarb and strawberry vodka was also delicious. The terrace had a lovely atmosphere and we were looked after by Aga, who’s amazing hospitality made our evening! So big thank you!
We went to Ognisko on a date night. We are familiar with polish food, usually considered as home/comfort food but Ognisko takes it to another level. The quality and freshness of proposed food is outstanding. Portions are huge and service is impeccable.
To top the quality of the restaurant, there is a great choice of summer cocktails and a arm long list of vodkas! I highly recommend this lovely place!
Fabulous mushroom and chestnut dumpling starter, delicious plaki and blinis. All mains - stuffed cabbage, rabbit and roast cod also great choices. The doors were open to the terrace. This made the room rather cold and the mains turned up having cooled down to only just warm enough temperature. This is a great restaurant and we will be back.
