Oggi Italian - Davis Islands
As an Italian custom, OGGI guests are treated like family. Guests are greeted with a complimentary Antipasto, and an OGGI House salad with every meal. We finish with a complimentary Espresso.
We are open for in-house dining. Our outdoor tables are spaced 6 feet apart in accordance with social distancing guidelines and may be reserved online. Although the Governor has approved 100% capacity, we are choosing to stay closer to 50% capacity on indoor dining and our servers continue to wear masks. We strongly encourage making reservations directly through the restaurant.
We visited for Mother’s Day. The restaurant was hot as if the a/c was not working. We had to ask for ice for our drinks. Our food took an hour and half to come out. The cheese on the pasta was sliced cheese and was not melted. I think we expected more from a restaurant on the island. For sure and first and last visit. Maybe if you visited on a slow day the food would be better.
Have never been treated more poorly at a restaurant. Was very excited to spend Mother’s Day there with my family and it was a huge disappointment.
We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your dining experience. Please call the restaurant and provide your contact information, we would like to contact you so we can understand how we fell short. Thanks again, we appreciate all good and negative customer comments and take each of them seriously. Thank you.
Website shows an elegant restaurant with high end food and wine. It was anything but. It felt like we were eating at a Pizza Hut. The water was served room temperature with no ice, the waitress’s uniform was stained and dirty, we were served a breakfast brunch menu instead of the regular menu. When making the reservation it was not indicated that the regular menu would not be available. My tomato caprese salad was warm and served with not nearly enough tomato’s to enjoy the entire dish. My daughters eggs Benedict were cold and she actually became ill when we got home. They forgot my moms garlic bread with her “meatball salad” which is simply spaghetti and meatballs. Finally, the waitress did not offer us dessert but brought out one very tiny glass of some kind of strawberries and whipped cream and then proceeded to hand us four spoons to share the one small dessert. That was the last straw. They make us wear a mask to enter but expect us to enjoy a community dessert. It was gross. I did speak to the manager. He blamed it on the website and offered no remedy for our dining experience. I was embarrassed that I had taken my Mother there for Mother’s Day. I have never written a negative review for a restaurant before so it really was not an enjoyable experience for me to take the time to write this one.
We are very sorry to hear that you were not happy with your dining experience. We have been serving brunch on Sundays for over three years which is stated under our hours on our Website. We are a small and authentic Italian Restaurant that often serves items as "family style" such as our charcuterie boards and dessert boards. Again, we wish your experience had been different, but nonetheless, we always appreciate feedback from our customers and try to fix any issues. Again, apologies.
Good food, good portions…maybe due to Mothers Day but 2 out of 4 plates came and almost 15min for other delivery of other two…also got one of the four orders incorrect.
We went for Mother’s Day. It was lovely.
Mother’s Day Brunch
Wonderful food, friendly service!
Wow Ambers service was outstanding!!
The food was so good; start with the Burrata, their Italian Sangria was delicious but a non alcoholic option is the Strawberry Basil Lemonade! I had the pistachio Chicken with roasted potatoes and since we were celebrating a birthday they brought us a Strawberry Parfait and pistachio cannoli and lemon zest.
There was a lot of greens/salads in the beginning and we got full quick so if I could do it over, Id pass on that but its okay it makes for round two that much better !
The outside seating was precious as it really gave us “another place” feeling. Hostess stand is non existent and right in the thick of everything of the restaurant sooo if they could figure that out they would be flawless.
Wow! We love to hear great things about our servers! Thank you so much. These days it so much harder to post positive than negative, so we REALLY appreciate the time you took to let us know. Thank you, look forward to serving you again soon!
Food was great....service was Fair. Lots of waiting/delays and no chiller for our wine until it was almost all gone. We were offered grated cheese and pepper for our meal when we received our entrees but she never returned. We really loved the food and the quaint atmosphere but service needs improvement.
The brunch at Oggi was a unique menu that we actually ordered waffles and cannoli French toast as appetizers before ordering breakfast. Food was exceptional.
We have been to Oggis several times and usually have a much better experience, I am not sure if it is due to the pandemic and having a hard time finding quality workers but the service was not great. Took a very long time to order, once we did we never received our salads and when our entrees came mine was great however my husband was disappointed with his. If the server ever came back or if anyone even looked our way to get their attention I would have been able to ask for something that could have helped him enjoy it more but nobody came until we were ready to leave with his meal hardly touched as we just shared mind.
Great food, great atmosphere. Our server had a lot of tables and we didn't get the attention we normally do.
Excellent time as always. Great food and service is on point.
Delicious as always and our 13 month old enjoyed it!
Great experience!! . Very attentive service by the server as well as hostess. The entrees were terrific and perfect portions.
This was my first visit to Oggi. We say loner than a normal wait to be greeted snd given water. We finally had to ask someone to give us water and see who our server was. We were told they work as a team. We were able to sample their wines on tap. Two of the reds we were interested in. The wine was so warm it was almost like it had been heated up. Weird. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious! Big tender mussels. The broth they were in was the best I’ve ever had. We then got our two house salads before our entrees. It was good. Nothing special but good and fresh. We ordered two pasta dishes to share. Unfortunately we didn’t heed the spicy description or ask just how spicy one dish was. It was so spicy it was difficult to eat. I only had a few bites and didn’t continue. The other was their butternut squash ravioli. They were overpowered with cheese. It was hard to taste the squash. I do love their complimentary expresso they give you at the end of your meal.
Service was pretty slow. Otherwise the staff was friendly and the food was good.
Great place good food and great service. Nice menu
Second time visit with my adult sons. We all loved it and every dish was delicious. We got the last piece of tiramisu, also delicious. Highly recommend as great value, great food, and warm and cozy feel.
Terribly slow. We put in our dinner order and waited over an hour. When pressed, the server said we were next to come out. Several minutes later she admitted it had only just gone in the oven. We asked them to cancel to order, paid for our drinks and appetizers and left. The apps were good, but it wasn’t a good experience overall.
Easter Brunch..family of 10 visiting Tampa, fantastic experience. A super nice gentleman, the owner I am assuming, kept engaging with the 6 children at our table(ages 8-14) and all of them loved it! great food, VERY well priced for the portion size...Great atmosphere :))
We went for Easter brunch. Service was a little slow, but overall a really good experience.
Amazing food and beautiful setting!
We reserved our table for 6 online and were sat street side away from the ambiance that makes Oggi’s so desirable. After being sat, we waited 15 mins to be greeted. Another 15 mins for water and bread. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time compared to the service and was good and clearly traditional. Refills on drinks were almost non-existent and clearing the table did not happen until we had to track down our waitress for the check and a few to-go trays. We will likely not waste our time entertaining at Oggi’s again. Had we been sat in the alley among the ambiance and character of what makes Oggi Italian restaurant beautiful, the lack of attention and service from our waitress would possibly not have been noticed or judged so harshly.
Delicious food, loved the cute little outdoor dining space. Will 100% be returning!
Great service, good food and wine. Great place!
This was a great find. Our servers John and Caleb could not have been more accommodating. We had 4 teenage girls with us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. So good!
Gruesome. Food was ok but the Bloody Mary was honestly the worst I’ve ever had. Our waitress was kind and tried, but apparently lacked any restaurant experience so once things got busy, you’re out of luck.
Great food and service!
The bruschetta was not good, the bread was stale. The pastas were phenomenal though. Service was not terrible but also not good. It took 50 minutes for our food and the server kept forgetting waters/drinks. We also had to ask for silverware twice. The outside seating area is gorgeous. Will come back for brunch sometime soon.
Had reservation with Open Table and then showed up but they refused to seat us as they could not find the reservation on their side of the system. Ended up going to Counter Culture which was nice.
We reviewed this last night after you called. We could not seat you at your assigned table as another party was finishing up. I am the owner & was working at the bar. Someone approached me, stating "they can't find my reservation, if open table is that bad, stop using them". I told him would go over to look into it, he curtly responded "wrong answer" & left. We normally resolve this issue by moving other reservations. You never allowed us the opportunity to do so.
Nice place with outside ambiance. Food and wine were very good. Went for my birthday and it was lovely, they brought dessert out with a candle.
Oggi was amazing. On par with many great New York City Italian restaurants!
The service was awful. We ordered drinks and they came after our salads (about 25 minutes after we ordered). We ordered bread which was brought out without butter or olive oil. I asked for butter and the waitress told me they didn’t have butter, so I asked for olive oil, she said no problem. Ten minutes later she brought us butter. Once we finished our salads they never cleared out table. Our entrees took over an hour to arrive at the table. I would have gotten up and left but my parents just wanted to stay. The owner came over and told me they had a burner go out in the kitchen. oK. Drinks, bread, bussing were all off. Nothing was offered or taken off the bill. They were also completely unapologetic. Food was good. Everything else about this place was bad.
The food was not good I did not like it the service they forgot about us when we sat outside .
Good vibe. Service was very slow but that was okay since we were with friends we needed to catch up with. I make better meatballs.
Amazing food and service!!
Great food and service. We ate outside and it felt like Europe! They even called me right away after we left when I left my glasses on the table! Thank you Oggi!
The vibe at Oggi’s is very laidback & cool. Caleb was our server tonight & he was awesome. I had the meatballs with rigatoni & they were delish. Under the old owner the sauce was way too sweet but now , under the current owners, it’s been tweaked & tastes really good
