Very nice dinner, open air dining
Service was lackluster. Food was far overpriced for only fair quality. Loud incongruous music and screaming children detracted from the setting. Reminded me of an Italian Dennys. Sorry to say that I would not go back.
Very pricey, not bad of food, very casual restaurant.
The food was tasty but a little overpriced for what it was. That’s the resort tax in effect.
My husband and I went to dinner here tonight. We got the “Roman style” pizza and it was so great. Really it was the best pizza we have had in a long time.
Helen was our server tonight and she really made the evening special. She knew so much about the menu and made some great suggestions. She not only knew her stuff about the menu but gave us some great tips about the complex and really made our experience so much better.
Helen, thank you for your dedication to a great experience.
Excellent pizza. Great service. Amazing tiramisu! Will definitely be going back!
The experience we had at Nui came as a surprise, it was superb and we highly recommend it!
Food and service were good but cat’s detracted from enjoying the meal. For an Italian restaurant in Hawaii the pizza was good.
Limited to the resort due to transportation. The food was as good as my favorite Italian restaurants in Houston. Wait staff was observant. Food was flavorful and portions good. Open air restaurant was great and something that does not happen often in hometown.
Great food, great service, great ambiance. We ordered a half pizza and it was plenty for two people. Calamari was fresh and light, and for dessert we had the chocolate hazelnut cake and shred that and it was delicious and not too rich. Waiter was great. Would highly recommend.
Amazing food! The pizza is the by far the best on the island (we are local)! Prices are VERY high even for a resort. Would only come back for a special occasion.
Was expecting something a little fancier and hoping for some more traditional Italian cuisine.
We shared a Roman pepperoni pizza and added mushrooms. The crust was great. The marinated mushrooms were great. The pepperoni was mediocre in flavor. Our drink order (wine) took longer than expected. The visual ambiance is very nice but was overruled by the loud noise. Resort pricing.
This was a disappointing experience for the price. It appeared that there was a limited staff. Our server was very nice, but she was overwhelmed with tables. We are not sure our wine was what we ordered, but we didn’t say anything.
Hilton needs to hire more employees.
Very nice option inside Hilton...went in with resort expectations but was pleasantly surprised by foodzl, drinks, and service...I'm sure some will comment on prices, but you are in a captive market...and on vacation!
I have eaten the Garganelli Emiliana at least eight times on previous visits and have always been happy. On this occasion, with a group of seven, we ordered several family style dishes and two pizzas. The Garganelli Emiliana was SO disappointing. There was one tiny piece of meat and not enough sauce to cover a small portion of the pasta. We were served a large bowl of pasta with a tiny amount of sauce that gave no flavor. More than $50 for a bowl of plain pasta alone.
I will not return, even though this was a place I recommended to and visited with friends and family.
Amazing linguine scampi, very good desert. Great location right in the Hilton hotel. Good for a date night
Food was excellent, service was as well.
The service was excellent. One of the managers chatted with us (Katz- any relatives in Winnipeg?). We were made to feel welcome from check in until we left!
We had a fabulous Valentines Day dinner because waiter Rory and his manager gave us complimentary drinks, heart cookies, and service that made us feel special. Beef carpaccio was deliciously thin but needed a little more salt. The meat lovers thin pizza was good. We will return to try other dishes and hope our server will still be there.
Parking was difficult only because the GPS dropped us a ways away. The service was incredible as was the food. From the appetizers to the dessert, I felt like I was eating my Italian grandmother’s cooking again.
The wait staff is friendly and efficient. Food was good and service was quick even though it was pretty busy.
It is a must do for my wife and I when visiting the big island. Food preparation is consistent and reliably very good. The staff all the way around is outstanding. Ambience is comfortably casual in 3 settings: indoor, outdoor, and bar seating.
Menu is diverse with good choices for full-spectrum of palates and ages. Meals very well prepared. Unbeatable ambiance with views of sunset over the Pacific. But best of all was our superb waitress (Helen). We’d like to take her back to PA with us! Helen and manager Steve exude hospitality and Hawaii welcome. We’re eager to return! Cindi & Dick Hendricks
Overall rating the experience a 3/5. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. We started off with Roman Style Focaccia (bread) that was overwhelming with rosemary, but it was good. We also split a caesar salad and a chicken fettuccine alfredo which were definitely enough for two people. The salad was great, but I can’t say the same for the pasta. This restaurant is a fair option if you are staying in the hilton, but don’t have high expectations! Follow along with all our travels @markandkatetravel
Beautiful location to dine. Exceedingly fast service! We loved all our dishes with only very minor pickiness. Overall 5 stars!
We are locals and enjoy an occasional visit to Nui. Food and setting are wonderful. Food is pricey, but after all it is a resort hotel in Hawaii!
A lot of hype and no delivery.. we ordered pizza and it was ok.
There was a delay in order but the manager comped desert.
Food is good, service is sufficient, price is high for what you get but average for the area.
Noisy, took long for service. Food ok
It was a nice experience, good food, but pricey. I'm glad we went but wouldn't go again.
We went as a lady group of 3.... we each had a cocktail, shared salad, shared a pizza and pasta. The food was excellent! Best pizza on the island by far (we are locals). Only draw back was the food was very pricey.
Fun for a special occasion.
Fantastic service. Delicious food.
very poor food quality. pizza sauce watery and made pizza crust soggy along with tasteless. for the very expensive price of pasta and pizza, not worth it even with the ambience of a school cafeteria. very disappointing given we were in the Hilton resort.
My mom and I are visiting Hawaii and have stayed where Nui is located before when it had a different Italian restaurant in the place of Nui. For a start, the food was amazing. My mom had chicken Parmesan (not a regular menu item) and is still raving about it a day after eating it. We had Helen as our server and she was so sweet and provided us with great recommendations and her overall service was superb. Definitely will eat there when we come back.
surprisingly one of our best meals of our week stay! the shrimp scampi pasta was delicious. the margherita pizza was good BUT...order in napolian style! my only frustration was locating the restaurant within this massive resort. no signage whatsoever. frustration level was high once we finally found the restaurant.
Simple but great menu. A little pricey but hey, it's Hawaii. Steve the manager is awesome.
Great food and great service in open air setting at the Hilton Waikoloa resort. We had the Focaccia bread, Caesar salad , and Linguini scampi. My husband and I shared everything. It was plenty of food and it was amazing!
Waitress did not offer specials, nor offer Parmesan for our entrees until we were nearly done. Food uninspired and mahi-mahi overcooked. No dessert offered. Other tables were told about specials.
