With more 10,000 square feet of stunning indoor-outdoor space, including an outdoor covered terrace, dynamic bar & lounge, and exquisite special event space, Nobu Houston provides the ideal setting to enjoy signatures like Black Cod with Miso and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño, world-renowned sushi, and Houston-inspired dishes and cocktails.
I attended this restaurant for an anniversary dinner and the staff was nice as the hostess and our waitress congratulated us on our anniversary. My wife and I both had omakase (chef’s choice). Given the price of this meal, the seating next to other guests was too close. Our peer patrons were all friendly but there was not much privacy because you are seated so close with other couples. This restaurant is a place to be seen however notably the people at this restaurant were not all dressed properly and there were many open tables during prime time on a Saturday night. The Nobu brand brought us here but the current dining experience is not on par with comparable fine dining restaurants so I would give Nobu Houston a solid four stars rating.
Wonderful dining experience. All the food and drinks were incredible
Food was good but had to keep fighting gnats that were hovering over my meal and drink
This was are first time to NOBU. We were very disappointed. Sushi was below average and the prices are on the edge of ridiculous. I think there was a waygu taco for $64. Really? Lots of better choices in Houston. Our Sushi was room temperature and did not taste fresh.
Had a lovely happy hour with visiting friends and family. Very attentive staff. We took one of everything on the happy hr menu. The lettuce wraps were a highlight.
This was our first time to this location. Food and service were fantastic. We requested the chef’s choice and added the wine pairing. This is a fantastic way to try many dishes that you may not normally order. Of course, you can make requests to tweak the choices per you food allergies or aversions, for a possible slight up-charge. Everything was fantastic. I have been to other Nobus and Houston is not quite as posh as the celebrity touted locations but... that also allows for a dress up or more causal vibe and be comfortable with either. Will definitely be going back.
I was quite underwhelmed. I’ve been to Nobu in New York and Vegas and they’re a step above Nobu Houston. The food was good but for the price it didn’t feel special. I will consider it in the future for a date and the great drinks but if you’re going for sushi that you can afford turn towards Kata Robata or Izakaya Wa
The food at Nobu Houston is great, much like the food at any other Nobu Restaurant, however, the ambience on the patio is lacking. The view of the parking lot and busy street don't help, and there were two types of music playing at the same time, one from the restaurant and another loudly from the downstairs valet area. In a nutshell, when you've dined at Nobu Malibu, the rest can be a huge let down.
My wife and I went to Nobu Houston for dinner. It was our first time there. relative to peer restaurants and food selections choices, we felt the pricing for both the food and drinks to be high. A Blanton's Bourbon was $28, while at peer restaurants it goes for $15-$19. Other drinks were in the same inflated range. The food was good, but again, the quality, value, and taste, did not justify the inflated price relative to peer restaurants. The Service was the most disappointing part. It was a Saturday night, 7pm, and about 1 out of 3 tables was open, so it wasn't crazy busy. Our waitress was a bit absent and poor on the attention to details. My wife has some gluten allergies so accommodated appropriately. I ordered some sushi and while ordering my wife asking questions was looking to try some but need to make sure the selection did not impact her allergies. We found a few that were ok. The waitress brings us a separate Gluten free soy sauce, but never brought me a soy sauce plate, so now we are looking to flag her down to get another soy sauce plate so we can begin to eat. My wife ordered another glass of Chardonnay, and to say the least it was a "soft pour". Later, I requested a refill on my Pinot, to which the waitress ask to clarify which one. 20+ minutes later, no Pinot. I flagged her down an tried nicely to remind her about my wine order (which I had no glass on my table since she took it), and she reacted like I was asking for one. She made no effort to apologize and/or acknowledge the oversight. When it came time for the bill, she was rather engaged in dialogue with other tables and MIA to recognize we were ready for the bill. Plus, she or, to have others failed to reasonably and timely buss our table, leaving empty plates for us to dine with. Overall, based on the experiences described here, my wife and I were disappointed and do not have any interest or desire to return. Just was not worth it, based on the food, prices, and service.
Food was delicious, service was excellent! The only detractor was a crying child who persisted over 10 minutes- no fault of Nobu but a downside to a great dinner
Delicious food wait stuff was prompt and courteous. Enjoyed very much my friend who were accompanied with us were also very happy Already recommended so many people
The fish was mealy and everything was drenched in too much sauce. Everything was extremely overpriced for the average quality of the food. I’d expect for an almost $500 meal, the food would be phenomenal. Disappointed.
Food was outstanding!! Service not so much. Great atmosphere.
I grew up in Los Angeles so I am VERY familiar with Nobu. So the excitement of a Houston location was high. My wife had never been, so for her birthday, this was her treat. She is now a HUGE fan!!!!!
The Nobu Experience was brilliant as always! I have been to the one in London and Houston maintained and perhaps even surpassed the legendary excellent quality of food and service that Nobu is known for. Our server Jackie was phenomenal!
We enjoyed excellent food and great service. They wen above and beyond for our daughter's birthday.
The server asked me and my wife if this was our first time dining there or not. We replied yes and then he asked if we would like the peppers and edamame to snack on while we wait for our waiter. He didn't inform us that there was a cost associated with the peppers and edamame. Not really upset about it he just made it seem like it came with the dining option. That Nobu gave appetizers with the meal. Other than the server I noticed that everyone was extremely robotic. I believe the location in Houston is known as the "worst" Nobu of all the Nobu locations. It seemed like they were trying entirely too hard to be "Nobu" when Nobu is already Nobu on its own. The food was the best I've ever had in my life. Epitome of perfection and care. Other than the robotic servers everything was beautiful and perfect.
Outstanding experience, our first time to sit at the sushi bar instead of a table and we had a blast! Our chef was fantastic we just let him order and prepare for us until we were full. I’ll never sit a the regular table again!
I celebrate my husband birthday there. It all started with an awesome host Fayth!!! She was very attentive and made the best recommendation based on the quick rapport she made with us. We will be back!!
Food was excellent. I would’ve gotten more of their sushi is that is what was most impressive. Everything was great though.
Nice casual place for drinks and sushi. But not a great place for date night, as not very romantic
We had a wonderful meal with our business partners. Everybody were excited and we went for the Omakase setting menu. A lot of nice dishes and delicate tastes. We can highly recommend the restaurant and the food.
Entrees were not served together for the table. Service was not upto the mark, and the value for money for very low considering the food that was ordered. Keeping in mind the status of the restaurant, it clearly did not live up to the mark. Theres many better restaurants out there that provide a better service, better food and an overall better experience.
Amazing, that will be our go to spot for now on. Thank you Nobu!
Definitely need to do something about this place. Over priced and poor food. Always trying to upsell and pad the bill. Not good
It was an amazing dining Experience. Our waiter John was excellent in taking us through a unique experience. Will be back for sure.
The food was always great! However at the end of the evening, we were told are almost $900 bill could not be split between the 4 couples at the table. We where told the most they will do is take 3 credit cards to split the bill. We had to literally go through the itemized bill and each calculate what we all ordered to figure out the breakdown with no help from the manager. Keep in mind two couples did not drink so it was not fair to evenly break the bill down 4 ways (even though that would have been best). The manager told us this is how all Nobu systems are set up (which is absolute BS as I have been to many international locations which are not set up this way)!
I have been an avid Nobu diner but I guarantee I will not be going back there with a group of friends! Ridiculous that a $900 bill could not be split up!
Way too little quantity for the price. Wine pours are very lame too. You asked? I dine out often and do not have money issues but we both agreeded no way did we get +200.00 worth of food and 1 drink each for the money expended. 936.525.7558
Menu is a little overpriced. Desserts are unimpressive.
This was the worst Japanese food I have ever tasted! Everything was really bad.
Expensive, but both the food and the experience are well worth it!
Not worth the money at all. The food is extremely mediocre. The description of dishes on the menu is poor.
Ordered unagi 3 unagi pieces, all of them still had bones in it and the cut wasn’t fresh at all. All the seafood in the ceviche was chewy and seemed like low quality fish. Waste of money!
Fabulously different and somewhat eclectic.
The dry Miso Sea Bass was as good a sea bass plate as I have enjoyed anywhere.
Desserts are a must! Unique, refreshing and ‘light’ (come on, it’s still dessert).
was amazing- great variety- outdoor patio was beautiful and our server Jackie was amazing! will surely be back!
I’ve been to Nobu in Florida and Las Vegas. The Houston location just wasn’t up to par.
Miy rica comida buen servicio, habia moscas en el restaurant algo incomodo
Outstanding omakase experience with chef jae’s team.
Loved the bonito suchi and miso coffee dessert.
Can wait to be seduce again by such a delicate and sublime dinner experience.
