   Great experience. Wonderful setting at the Grand Wailea. Food was outstanding as well as our waiter Nick. Very knowledgeable with the menu recommendations. Very enjoyable evening.

   We’ve been to several of the Nobu restaurants. This one opened only 16 days ago and they are clearly still finding their groove. Service was excellent however the delivery of food was very slow. Our waiter tried to course everything out and we ended up waiting 20 minutes between courses. Not his fault, this was on the kitchen. The food was good though, we’ve had better I the other Nobu’s. We will come back but they do need to get their act together.

   Loved the experience! Extremely appreciated the table they sat us at. Great view of the sunset, large table for 4 with comfy couches (it was just the 2 of us) and it was packed at the time. We were excited they opened at our favorite resort. Had dinner our first night at the Grand and booked another reservation for our last night here as well. Nobu remains one of our favs for sure.    The service was amazing and the chef was able to create some off menu vegetarian options to accommodate! Highly recommend! The view is beautiful too!

   Our dinner was great. Had a party of 7 so it can be a bit hectic with that size. The server Ian did an exceptional job as well as everyone else who delivered and cleared our plates. Nobu is a vibe and we totally enjoyed it!!

   Nobu was a wonderful dining experience. The presentation, the food and ambiance were the best I've ever experienced. I had a seat at the sushi bar and it was a great experience seeing the chef preparing and presenting my platter. The food from the Black cod miso to the sushi platter and soki was fresh and delicious. This restaurant is a must try for locals and visitors alike.

   We didn’t love our wailea Nobu experience. Mainly due to the ambiance - in Hawaii but felt like Vegas with the decor and club music. Also the price of the food was ridiculous in comparison to the service and that you couldn’t make any changes to a cocktail (wanted vodka instead of gin). Have never heard that one before. I like nobu but will stick to a different location.

   If you want to spend $1,000 to not be allowed to order what you want to eat , this is your go to place. Arrived with some friends excited to support a new restaurant on Maui. Tried to order a light refreshing Gin cocktail, and was told not allowed to because it was similar to one of their "custom drinks". Ended up talking to a manager, who tried to convince me to have something I didn't care for, and finally, after 40 mins, I had my cocktail. The appetizers are tiny and start at $40. The entrees are also tiny and run $65 - $105. Inquired what the fresh line caught fish was and told it was Eku or Onaga. Onaga is my favorite fish so I got excited to order that, but then the waitress said we were not allowed to order it, as they were only serving the Eku first, then when they run out they will serve the Onaga. Its pretty infuriating to drive 45 mins to the other side of the island, to spend this kind of money, and not be able to order what you like to eat. Why even tell us they have onaga if they refuse to serve it. Our waitress was non existent and we finish our 5:30 dinner at 9:30pm. Overall, the food we were allowed to order was actually very good, but paired with the attitude, tiny portions (requiring us to order many dishes each to feel full), high cost and rude service I do not recommend it. Have eaten at Nobu restaurants around the world and this is the only one that has been such a terrible experience, and this was easily the worst dining experience on Maui, ever, and I live here full time.

    Newly opened Nobu at the Grand Wailea is set in the former breakfast buffet area, and you can still catch a glimpse of old buffet equipment tucked behind a Japanese curtain — a subtle reminder that this feels more like a temporary pop-up than a thoughtfully integrated restaurant. But that’s in line with Grand Wailea’s current phase of rebranding and identity crisis, where much feels in flux. The view from Nobu is beautiful however, and the Grand Wailea signature. The vibe is upscale-lounge-meets-hotel-lobby, complete with loud lounge music that adds to the generic, high-end experience. The food, unfortunately, doesn’t justify the hype or the price. The yellowtail hamachi — a dish often praised — was paper-thin and drowned in overpowering ponzu, more novelty than nuance. The lychee martini tasted straight out of a can. If your goal is to spend a lot and still leave hungry, this is your spot. On the upside, the service was solid — attentive and professional. Just wish the food and atmosphere lived up to the price tag and the Nobu name, which maybe is not much of a name anymore, just another chain where quality was lost to quantity. Back in a day Grand wailea had a nice Japanese restaurant located at the tea house structure in the area behind the front desk - the tea house was abandoned and never revived. Much like the signature front waterfall, water elevator and now water slides? Let’s hope Nobu will make it all better.
