Staff were beyond amazing and We will be back again this week and hope to make it our local. Couple of blips with a new menu but nothing to get excited about.
Extraordinary good value for money.
Superb on all accounts. Only thing I would say is lighting should be dimmer for an evening dining atmosphere.
My friend and I went here for drinks and a snack on Friday for an 7:45pm booking. I ordered chips and we both ordered a desert each and a glass or wine as we wasn’t very hungry.
I do not usually write reviews but this poor rating is based on the fact that we was not told that we needed to order a main meal in order to be served alcohol. So as you can imagine at 9:10aprx when we went to order our 2nd glasses of wine and we was refused, we shocked. Had we been informed that we needed to order a main meal, we would have ordered differently for the sake of being able to enjoy our Friday evening after such a horrible lockdown.
The waitress was rude and we could not speak to a senior member of staff. I must stress had we been told from the beginning it would not have been a problem but the mer fact that we was well into our evening, we received our food and had a glass of wine and only when we went to order another we was refused, as paying customers this kind of customer service is very poor. On a bright note, the truffle chips were lovely it is a shame about the staff.

We would love to make things right if you give us another chance.
I enjoyed my visit, caring staff, food Ok, they even changed the sauce a bit for me. I ate in the bistro, not the restaurant, it was good that I could have just a couple of starters, as I normally eat much later - with the Covid laws, I will have to change my habits! They have a lot of space outside and it is a good idea that they are open all day, so that customers , can pop in for a cup of coffee, or a small lunch, and sit outside overlooking the common when the weather is warm. I am sure that the new residents in the retirement flats above, will appreciate that they can, meet friends or family without having to cater for them.
There is no restaurant at Clapham South, so this was a good idea, just keep the prices reasonable
