We've been going to Nine-Ten for 11 years. It never disappoints. The food and service are always excellent. It's a pretty quiet restaurant, so conversations are easy. The only caveat is the "atmosphere". It's typically an older crowd, so don't go if you are looking for a hip, trendy spot. But if you want to impress a client or date with excellent food and good service, while still being able to carry on a conversation, Nine-Ten is a great spot.

Highly recommend the mercy of the chef. The food was excellent great mix of flavor profiles and everything was cooked perferctly! My wife and I got different plates at each of the courses so we could share, I couldn't ask for much more, we will do this again. well timed and attentive service. The food runners had difficulty explaining some of the dishes and were in a big hurry

Friends said this was the best food in La Jolla and it was. We had the chef's tasting menu. Mine was vegetarian and my husband had the pescsterian version. We both had the wine paring as well. Creative dishes, great wine. We will be back!

We booked this to celebrate my son's college graduation. They were very accommodating when I didn't know of my party would be 10 or as many as 14. The service was wonderful and the food was great. The bottomless mimosas were perfect to celebrate.

The server presented the check incorrectly twice on the third presentation no breakdown given on the total minus tax re tipping

My friend and I were hosting a friend's birthday luncheon and ultimately it become somewhat of a frustration

Ultimately we did not tip - and originally I had tipped on the first check 20%

Excellent haute cuisine food, yet still laid back and welcoming atmosphere. Nice view and ambiance. Excellent, friendly, and attentive servers.

Pork Chop was excellent. Lamb and Duck are always great, too. Sitting outdoors on the back patio is a great experience.

The dinner options were diverse: fish, beef, poultry, vegetarian with prices ~$30-$37 for entrees. For the hype that it has received in various reviews, the food was ok, not outstanding. It was suggested by the server to have the the lamb and duck prepared medium rare. I would have liked it to be cooked more. They do use seasonal vegetables and healthy ingradients and that adds to the presentation. The service was very nice. If you let them know about special ocassions, they provide a card recognizing the person's special day. Good ambiance for conversation.

Perfect in every respect. Waiter, food, wine ( half price bottles on Wednesdays ), corner quiet table per request , hostess all were great. Restaurant not crowded which added to our enjoyment.Sometimes things just come together.We live a good distance away and hadnot dined there since the 1980's when it was the Putnam's Grill.Will not wait another 30 years to return !
