If you're looking for new eats like duck or lamb done right, or a fine dining experience, NINE-TEN is the perfect place to broaden your horizons. Everything was plated beautifully. The staff were wonderful- so grateful for the recommendations! Will definitely be returning when we visit La Jolla again.

Best restaurant in La Jolla! Allows reservations even on Sundays. Plenty of tables available. Not close together. Consistently great food over several years. Fast service after ordering. Highly trained staff. Very cordial. Not difficult to park close on nearby streets for free. Just slightly beyond and out of reach of the very crowded part of Prospect Ave. Prices are no higher than the long wait line places. Very reasonable.

Nine-Ten is always a treat! Proteins tend to be the same on each menu but preparation is always innovative and varied. This time, lamb loin and ahi tuna both delicious. Presentation beautiful and service attentive. And can’t beat the half-price wines on Wednesday. Had looked forward to dining on the Terrace on lovely evening, but all tables were in the sun with no umbrellas- disappointing.

We did the Mercy of the Chef menu. 3 of the courses were terrific, the rest was just okay. The ambiance outside is not good compared to other places in La Jolla. I wouldn’t recommend.

Nine-Ten seemed perfect for our 40th anniversary on 9/10. It was very good, but it was really loud inside. I was hoping for a romantic dinner, but the noise made it difficult to hear each other sitting side-by-side. The staff was great, the food was great, I just misjudged the ambiance. I would recommend it if you are ok with a loud meal. We will likely return for a casual meal at some point.

I celebrated my sister’s birthday on Sunday and truly enjoyed the brunch. We ordered halibut and omelet. The fish dish was cooked perfectly! We also ordered a blueberry scone and liked it so much so we ordered two extra scones to go. Our waiter and other staff members are all very friendly, and provided excellent service. My sister had a very happy birthday. Unfortunately the restaurant does not open on Mondays. Otherwise we would have visited it again.

We have dinner at Nine-Ten a few times a year and we really enjoy it every time. The food is fantastic and the service is exactly what it should be for a fine restaurant. We had the sea scallops and the lamb this time and both were excellent. We also get the chocolate lava cake every time because it is always so good.

Respect to the Chef, Sommerlier and Servers for a great dinner and excellent service. “Mercy of the Chef” tasting was wonderful. We visit here every few months for the tasting menu and there’s rarely a repeated dish. Imaginative flavor combinations, always delicious, featuring high quality ingredients. Small portions mean that the 6-course menu leaves you feeling pleasantly satisfied but not over-fed. Of note is the pasta course, which is uniformly a wonderful surprise. In the past we’ve seen a house-made mushroom pasta “Cacio e Pepe”, this time it was house made corn cream raviolis that exploded with fresh summery flavor. This is a great place that deserves high accolades and regular visits from loyal fans. Thank you Nine-Ten!

We sat at the bar and had outstanding service. The Burger use to be my go to and we tried he Duck also this time. We had the duck cooked to the chef's preference. The burger was so so and the duck with flavorless, tough and honestly horrible. I had two bites and just couldn't take it. We were really disappointed. A few weeks ago we came and both had burgers and both left unsatisfied. We thought we would give it another try since we live so close but I think we will stick to having drinks and forgoing the food.

Overall good experience. The tasting menu was good but not outstanding , dessert was good but we would have preferred two different flavors for the donuts. Tomato has part of the tasting could be improved. Three dishes were outstanding the Swordfish, pasta and ribeye were amazing. really savory (pack of great combination of flavors) dishes and great presentation work.

The food, service and atmosphere was just as good as when I went there in 2005 and in 2023. My only complaint would be the portion sizes. We split the roasted corn and blackberry salad and it was three bites each. It’s not what I would call a value but it was delicious.
