Excellent service and the food was outstanding. This is one of the best restaurants in the San Diego area. We both had the halibut and it was so good. Every time we travel to the San Diego area we always dine at these top 3 restaurants: 9-10, Market and Piatti.
Just a fabulous meal and evening. Highly recommend when in La Jolla.
Fabulous! Incredible service! The short rib was the best I’ve ever had!
We were staying at the Grande Colonial and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and great food at the Nine-Ten restaurant in the hotel. The drinks were well made and generous while the food was simply the best we've had in a long time. We will definitely be back.
Great location and ambiance. We shared an appetizer and an entree and they divided the portions, which was super! The service was mediocre and left much to be desired.
We ordered 5 hamburgers which were overcooked
And dry. The service was very slow.
We were surprised because we love Nine-Ten but I hope you keep being the good restaurant you used to be
The entire experience was excellent. Great wine selection as well!
Good birthday treat with a small dessert.
Nine-Ten has become our new favorite go-to restaurant for over a year now.
The soups are phenomenal and very unique (must try for yourself to believe!).
Their $32, 3-course Prix-Fixe lunch menus change monthly and is a great value.
Other favorites include:
-Loch Duart Salmon (the best in La Jolla area for just $24!)
-Short Rib Panini ($18) is outstanding
-Reuben Sandwich & Nine-Ten Burger are high quality & satisfying
Tried their Fried Chicken Tacos for the first time but found the chicken breast to be a bit tough & salty!
Service is very good and overall it is considered the best value in LJ area.
My first experience here was terrible. But I know the food is great and I wanted to give it a second chance. Happy to report this time was an excellent dining moment.
We have dined at this restaurant many times and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious and of top quality. The restaurant is loud at dinner but when it is warm the patio is an ideal place to enjoy your meal and have a good visit.
Nine-Ten is one of the best restaurants in San Diego and I've given it 5 stars in past reviews. On this occasion, however, I've only rated it at 3 stars because it took an exceptionally long time to get our main course. At one point, the waiter did say our food would be out shortly but I timed it and it was 10 or more minutes later when it arrived. The restaurant was not full so I have to assume they didn't have a full staff in the kitchen and they did have a couple of large parties. However, I was not pleased by the replies by the waiters when I indicated that we had waited longer than normal for our food. If there is going to be a delay, the servers need to alert the customers long before the delay gets too long and the comment that they were busy was hollow because there were several empty tables and nobody as far as we could tell dining on the back patio.
The taste and quality of our food, however, was excellent.
My wife and I dined to celebrate the end of a lovely vacation, our daughter's first performance at Carnegie Hall, our nephew's wedding and our own upcoming anniversary. The service was gracious and the food imaginative and well-prepared. The portions were appropriate for a three course meal. Each dish was visually appealing and offered great contrasts of flavors and textures.
Excellent food and service. However too cold inside.
Nine Ten never disappoints! The food is creative, but approachable; beautifully plated; we can converse comfortably; the surroundings are simple but lovely.
Outdoor seating area is lovely! Our waiter was friendly and courteous. He suggested the short rib which was one of the best meals I have ever had! I will definitely return!
We sat at the bar on Sunday night. The bartender was horrible . Female with short dark hair, spent over half the time (behind the door), 100% non attentive when behind the bar. I asked the front desk if the restaurant manager was off that night and they said yes. That manager needs to let this bartender go!
We enjoyed a delicious well prepared dinner, beginning with the Thai Lobster Salad and ending with great chocolate truffles! Our entrees were the Salmon perfectly prepared and the Lamb - both were delicious. The service was very good and very attentive.
it was awesome! the service was a little slow this visit as it usually isn't
Very delicious Mother’s Day brunch!! The service was spot on and my parents complimented the restaurant, something they usually don’t do!
This was our first outing to Nine Ten. We were very happy with our dining experience! The service was excellent! We both enjoyed our salads (lobster mango salad and grilled vege salad). The entrees were amazing...halibut and New York steak. Both were cooked to perfection. We had one dessert- Pistachio, cherries and chocolate. The cocktails were great, as was the wine. They also have a nice port selection. Our only complaint ...they have no craft beer on tap. We will definitely go back!
Top notch experience. Perfect location for a business lunch. Great food options for those with special food needs. Greg was our server and he was terrific.
I really appreciate that as soon as I drove up in my Tesla, the valet asked if I would like it plugged in. I did and it saved me stopping on the way home for a charge. This was a great service.
Service was great!!! Robert was a superb waiter.
Wine selection was excellent. Food was fabulous. Excellent selection.
This place is usually extremely consistent and my favorite restaurant in San Diego right now. Unfortunately something was off with the food Sunday night. I’ll definitely be back back though.
Lunch was good. Lobster ravioli was tasty, albeit unessesarily rich for a seafood dish. Service was not up to snuff compared to dinner staff.
Always love dining at NineTen. Menu is so creative and delicious. Excellent service.
What an amazing dinner! The french service was a welcome change. Choice of wines exceptional. Food had terrific texture and creative use of spices and natural ingredients. Will definitely return. Highlight of our trip to La Jolla. Make sure you add it to your list of "have to's". Located near coast. Just beautiful!
We had a great experience and our server Mark was amazing
Great service and excellent food!! Never disappoints.
My spouse and I were staying at the Grande Colonial Hotel where the restaurant is located. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and decided to have our special dinner at Nine-Ten. Without question, one of the best meals we have ever had at a restaurant. Incredible service, ambiance, food, wine, cocktails...nice people, great experience. Will go back for sure.
You can always be sure that the salmon is perfect! Service is always fantastic They have no problem splitting dishes on separate plates if you want. Great restaurant. They have valet parking if it is hard to find a spot.
Excellent experience!!! Desserts were small for sharing otherwise everything was excellent
We had a great experience. We tried the Mercy of Chef -Tasty menu. Everything was very delicious. Wine pairing was excellent. 5 star service. Will definitely go back.
We had a wonderful meal. We sat at the bar for a cocktail, and enjoyed the bourbon fizz drink. They had many unique cocktail choices. The price of most cocktails was $12+. The bar was busy, and could be larger and more comfortable. We had dinner on the terrace. We had a nice view of the ocean. Heat lamps worked very well, and we were comfortable. The food was excellent. New York strip was tender and sauces flavorful. Halibut was delicious, perfectly cooked. The bread was warm. Service was very good. We will return.
This was a nice quiet place for dinner. Had we known it was a hotel restaurant, we might not have come, however. Also, Open Table said there were only "2 reservations left" for our time spot, and that we should "hurry." The restaurant was almost empty, and I did not appreciate being deceived on this point. Nevertheless, the food was very good and the service was even better.
Great! As always !!
we especially liked Bruno our waiter--he was friendly, attentive and efficient.
I had such an amazing date here. The food was phenomenal, the presentaionas well as the taste. The waiter (Erik) was observant and available but never bugged. He offered wonderful options and pairings and was knowledgeable about the food and beverages he was serving. Everyone was pleasant and the ambiance was perfect. Not too loud but just enough noise that you knew could have a conversation without everyone overhearing. The ocean front was just the icing on the cake. I will definitely be recommending to others and returning myself.
Though Nine-Ten doesn't boast an ocean view, it is worth the drive to La Jolla. Every item was expertly prepared with fresh ingredients for a delightful dining experience. The halibut was clean, salmon flaky, and sushi bowl tasty. Would definitely make the trip again!
