We had a delicious dinner on the front patio. Our group had chicken Parmesan, veggie risotto & the scallop dish. All wonderful. The staff and manager were very friendly and attentive. We peeked in the bar and back patio (where there was a private event). Very cool. We will be back!
Good food always outstanding,
I asked for a dinner salad with grilled chicken on top...6 pieces of chicken...pretty skimpy! Charged for a full chicken breast!!
I truly enjoyed Fathers Day there. The food was amazing and servers were fantastic.
Great food, great service, good location, beautiful decor inside and great patio dining.
My only disappointment was that Nick's apparently has taken the Flatbreads off the menu and substituted with thick crust 10" pizza....not a wise decision, especially for the ladies who, every time I'm there (once a week at least) there are more females than male.
The typical order is wine, Brussel sprouts and 1-2 flatbreads so we were VERY disappointed with this decision....may explode The RSF Inn.
we enjoyed our dinner at Nick and G's ...the ambiance was lacking while sitting indoors.
I think it's a little dark and could use some background music. we would need to sit on the patio if we went back. We decided to go small plate and enjoyed the meatballs and calamari......then a salad.....polished off a bottle of the house PG....which very nice.
Dinner, wine and all were first class! Great experience and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommended.
This restaurant is consistently excellent.
Great burgers and nice staff. Outside dining is very nice.
It was so great to go out to dinner again! Nick and G's made it memorable again. The food was excellent. The service was great. All done with proper social distancing. Cheers!!!
Enjoyed being able to sit down for dinner after 2 months of lockdown. Outdoor seating was perfect. Our dog was able to sit with us and even got a nice water bowl to use. Service was excellent. Enjoyed the brussel sprouts. Family enjoyed the steak and salmon. Very quaint and quiet area.
Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed the restaurant on Pasio Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe when it was Delicias and weren’t impressed with its successor, Ponsaty’s (named after the French chef), which closed in short order. Nick & G’s has a great location in the old village, which is worth wandering around. They retained the same basic ambience – warm and cozy in the dining room (fireplace against one wall), with booths along the walls and tables in the middle for from two and four guests to larger with a few quick adjustments. Comfortable bar, with good bar menu, and a patio in the back, heated, which is popular for private parties (a birthday party for a 60-year-old was underway when we arrived).
Split the mussels and salsiccia, $16, for an appetizer – a large bowl of tender Prince Edward Island mussels, in a tasty tomato sauce with Italian sausages, an imaginative combination of flavors and textures. Our server, Kayla, brought extra bread for dipping. For entrees, we had the veal scaloppini, huge portions of breaded veal on a bed of angel hair pasta ($34), and the rack of lamb ($38), one of the larger portions we’ve enjoyed anywhere in San Diego. It had the classic rack, sliced into five individual pieces on the bone (if I recall correctly), with four or more slices of extra lamb underneath. The lamb tender and tasty. The portions were large enough that we almost had enough for another dinner at home. Corkage is $25. Nick & G’s also delivers and we look forward to trying some of their pizzas (10 or 16 inch and from $12 to $25).
Wonderful meal. Both my wife and I had a great dinner. All courses were excellent and the service wonderful. Restaurant was busy so the noise level was a bit high, but other than that I would highly recommend.
Nadia is an excellent server and worth asking for.
This is 2nd or 3rd time we have been here. It is OK but we have traveled to many spots that are much better.
Not really a negative but hard to recommend.
Really great spot! We had been before they changed it to Nick & G’s and were pleasantly surprised! We had a wonderful server who was attentive and patient with my husbands “dad” jokes. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name but even the sweet young man that brought out the bread, everyone was pleasant. We sat outside which was very nice. It was a bit chilly out but they have clear plastic shades all over as well as heaters throughout the patio so it was very comfortable. The 4 of us orders the salmon, the veal, the chicken and the Bolognese. They were all delicious but the veal really stood out as the table favorite. The cocktails were strong but good and the carrot cake dessert hit the spot to a great dinner! I would recommend Nick & G’s highly!
They tried to create a romantic ambiance and sat us right next to the fire place but the music from the bar was loud and distracting. Not romantic in the least. I truly enjoyed the food however the service was mediocre.
So I give it an average of 3 stars
Loved our server and wine steward
Food quality was not up to par and given it was Valentine’s Day, with pricing to match, it left both my wife and I very disappointed
First thing was we had to wait 25/30 mins beyond our reservation time to be seated.
Then it was only a fixed price menu, not offering a la Carte and we didn’t remember reading this.
Scallops entree was very good; but appetizers and deserts were poor.
Room was brightly lit and on the chilly side. We noticed it was warmer on the patio on the way out.
We like Nick & G’s but this was disappointing. Not as good as previous visits.
Good food and superior service at a reasonable price
We had a great dinner at Nick & G's and will be back.
Lovely small restaurant, with fire place.Outdoor patio in warmer weather.
Very good service and a friendly staff but average food and eclectic furnishings. Good enough for a neighborhood restaurant but not good enough to attract non locals.
Was great, drink service was a little slow
Food and service is always great.
Go to this restaurant a couple of times a month.
Dylan was our server and he was very attentive.
The music is always too loud. That is why we have not been here in over a year. The same is true for our friends. TURN DOWN THE MUSIC please
The entire restaurant was well maintained with nice music ambience and quality customer service experience.
Service was extremely disappointing. We requested indoor seating but were seated in outside patio on lawn furniture. Our server disappeared for 15-20 mins at a time. Food was great but I got the feeling that because we booked through Open Table we were sent to the “penalty box” with only one other party.
Had a great experience New Years Eve! Sat by the big fireplace and a really great meal!
Awesome salmon. Lamb was good. Service was a little slow but to be expected New Year’s Eve.
New Year's Eve at 6 pm. The restaurant was filled with senior diners .. the DJ in the bar started up Rap music with loud speakers emitting out into the street and into the dining room. We could not hear ourselves speak. On checking the bar there was no one even inside at 6pm. A few diners in the patio.
There is an extra 4% for the the Ca minimum wage. This is not for services and is not paid directly to the service staff !!
Our server was excellent and helped us choose vegetarian options that were delicious. We will be back soon!
Very lovely Chistmas Eve dinner
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner in this cozy, elegant and wonderfully staffed restaurant. The food was great, the servers were kind and attentive. It felt very festive and was exactly what we wanted for a special night out.
We had hoped to enjoy this restaurant but not worth trying. We had reservations for 5 pm and they opened for dinner at 3 pm, the dining room was not set up. We went to the bar for a drink and were ignored. Once seated we ordered drinks which took over a 1/2 an hour for a glass of wine, not once but twice.
The food was ok, but not for the price. We will go to The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe next time. We had wanted to try but not worth it. Very disappointed.
Food is always good here enjoy the restaurant a lot.
Servers are always attentive.
Delightful Sunday Brunch celebrating my birthday. My cocktail with a birthday candle was a cute idea! Love supporting our local businesses!
Had to asked three times for water.
Nice ambiance. Loved the calamari. Thought the meatballs were a bit dry. Will come back next time for happy hour!
