The contemporary interior is clean, bright and airy during the day and cosy and intimate at night, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows framing the hustle and bustle of London life with outside seating when the weather is being kind. Angel Tube Station is a 3-minute walk.
Absolutely wonderful place. One definitely needs to book in advance, even just for lunch. There was only one person serving all the tables during lunch time, but she was amazing!! So lovely, remembering about us, making sure that we are comfortable at just the right times.
Food was divine. It’s is rare that I can relax completely about what I eat due to lactose and gluten intolerance, but in here- absolutely heavily food, and no worries at all that I would have any reaction :)
Very happy with this place, highly recommend
Great food, large number of options on the menu but a little on the pricey side. Try the cheese doughnuts - they’re delicious!
The best gluten free dining in my gluten-free life challenge in last 6 years since been diagnosed. Very friendly staff and absolutely delicious food from starter to desserts. Struggle to decide what to have as I could have everything on the menu. We will be definitely coming back for more amazing food
Delicious Gluten-Free dining and an additional bonus by having a Low FODMAP menu as well, which is not easy to come across. Great food, great staff. Highly recommended
Very tasty food, friendly staff & relaxed environment.
Although the restaurant was quiet. It was a pleasant space to be in. Waiter was great, food was fab. Not a cheap lunch, so not really an every day lunch experience, but worth it for my son to be able to have choices for all three courses. (Note to self: remember the portion size next time)
We booked Niche for my daughters 16th birthday. The management were very responsive to our dialogue prior to the meal and delivered all our requirements on the day.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent!
The venue is very good and placed well for those travelling. Highly recommend!!!!
We enjoyed the evening overall especially as I have coeliac disease. The theatre menu is limited and as my husband is non beef eating there is even more limited choice.
We were disappointed that we were offered water before we had even sat down which we had to pay £4 for - we only ever have tap water!! The meal, especially the pudding was very nice however and it is lovely to be able to choose anything from the menu
Wonderful to find a completely gluten free restaurant for my daughter’s birthday as she is a coeliac. Excellent food and pleasant atmosphere. We were there after the early evening rush as it is next door to Sadlers Wells so it may be rather too busy in the early evening.
Not easy to find a safe gluten-free place for coeliacs. This one is definitely a good one. Good food with lovely staff in a quiet restaurant. Totally recommend it.
Delicious, friendly, relaxed, excellent service too! Thank you so much we will definitely return. And so handy for Saddlers Wells!
This restaurant is a favourite
Great food and service with close proximity to Sadlers Wells
We particularly enjoyed the beef on the bone and the chocolate brownie
We will come again
Relaxing casual dining venue very close to Sadler's Wells/Angel Underground station. Lovely pre-theatre menu. The main menu is only served at certain times of day - depending on if Sadlers Wells is open or not. Good choice for all diners. Nice wine list. Delicious Pecan Pie!
Good food; good service; pleasant a atmosphere and good location for our needs - lunch before going to Sadler's Wells.
Highly recommended. Wonderful selection of dishes, generous portions and the comfort of knowing that our 12 year old son could choose anything he wanted from the menu.
The restaurant is at a perfect location for a visit to Sadler's Wells. With its entirely glutenfree menu it is a treat to not have to worry about whether any of the dishes will contain any. This was our second visit, and we will probably visit again. Having said that, we had to wait in excess of 30 min for our starters to arrive, and then one of them was the wrong one, so we were getting a bit nervous about making it to the performance next door. Given that they specifically advertise a pre-theatre menu with the promise that you don't have to worry about being late for the performance that was a bit disappointing. The food itself - the starters were amazing, but the mains were a bit of a mixed bag. The meat and vegetable parts were outstanding (beef rib and burger), but the baked goods were really quite poor. I've made better gf yorkshire puddings and burger buns at home myself, so I know it is possible to get it right. What we were served seemed dry and brittle. Certainly would expect better in a restaurant. So all in, we will probably be back but more likely for the meat than the baked goods.
Really good food and the atmosphere is lovely, got a nice bistro feel to it. Peanut butter blondie is the stuff dreams are made of.
Our problem here was the slow service. OK, it's all cooked to order, but surely with dishes like sausages and mash, and burgers, it's hardly all done at the last minute? My hake was OK, but somewhat cold, and my friends mentioned that the mash was somewhat lumpy. The French fries were nice. We didn't get time to try the desserts. The staff were pleasant, but it was a mixed experience, and I won't be in a rush to repeat it.
if you are gluten free (as my companion was) then its awesome. Not worth the spend for the gluten eaters though. it's tasty and great service, very convenient for Sadlers with a great pre theatre menu but for me, it was a sting (£18 for a salad...).
Awesome food, thankful to find a fully gluten free restaurant for my partner. The food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Fantastic food with really thought-through options for vegan and gluten free options. The service was very candid and nice and the place, while a bit too crammed and noisy, still very modern and lively. Perfect choice for a pre-theatre meal. 2 mins walk to Sadlers Wells.
I have never before found a restaurant with a low fodmap menu.
And the food is brilliant.
Even theur gluten free pastry is great and that is rare.
Brilliant service with plenty of attention and food was good , all of which made for pleasant pre Theatre meal.
Lovely meal with large portions. The Cobb Salad was excellent and very filling. Well worth a visit
Awesome service. Fabulous coeliac-friendly food.
Starters very average
Burgers good but sausages were poor
Service average at best
Seated in a poor location despite multiple better alternatives
There is only one totally gluten free restaurant to go to in London 'Niche'
We had a really nice meal - took advantage of the lunch deal which was great value for money. My haloumi salad was fab and my friend’s super food salad was very good too! Service was very good even though restaurant busier than expected. I love the atmosphere in there; relaxed and friendly.
I've had the Beef Short Rib and it was an absolutely impeccable meal.
The meat was succulent, soft yet heated through when served and the red wine reduction matched perfectly. The rosemary potatoes had a crisp outside and were soft on the inside, just as one wishes roast potatoes to be. The Yorkshire Puddings were soft and neutral in taste, which made them a good accompaniment for the beef & sauce as well as chili jam (served with the beans). However, if I could make one adjustment, I'd rather have more of the green beans and only 1 piece of Pudding, as they are very filling and the beans add more flavor to the dish as well.
Regardless, the portion size, although predominantly made up from meat and starchy sides, was satisfying yet not stuffing. To me, that is a sign of high quality ingredients and processing of food.
As on other occasions, service staff was attentive, quick and friendly.
I've (again) had a wonderful evening and will definitely come back.
We booked the restaurant as it was close to Sadlers Wells where we were going for an evening performance. As a sceptic regarding vegan cooking there was a bit of apprehension regarding what we would come across in terms of extreme foodies etc. BUT ! what a wonderful experience,. There were six of us, our daughter is a pescatarian but the rest of us are fairly conventional eaters. At the end of the day the menu was amazing. My extremely meat and two veg mate had the obviously vegan salad and was completely overwhelmed. The rest of us ate various mains of vegie and vegan origins and had a wonderful time. The wines were lovely and the service second to none ! Thank you everyone for a wonderful pre-theatre meal. We will come back!
Niche has the most amazing gluten free food we have ever eaten and a service that was second to one. We cannot wait to return to London and visit this wonderful restaurant again.
Took my friend who is Gluten free . It was really excellent one of the nicest places I have been in ages. I wasn’t expecting mine to be so tasty ! It was excellent and fantastic service. My friend was really impressed!
Amazingly surprisingly delicious. Wonderful small restaurant, aptly named. The menu is a total crowd pleaser and, as we were a table of three, decided to choose different things and try as much as possible. Every dish was superb. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and wonderfully served.
Wait staff are knowledgeable, polite and service was professional. Smiles all round.
Wines not so great, could be improved, but that's being picky. An experience so enjoyed that I immediately booked again as we will visit the theatre close by in a few weeks.
Great atmosphere and brilliant service. Niche are extremely strict with Gluten intolerance and will not allow any non gluten food on site.
Portions were just right and very well balanced.
We went before a matinee at Sadlers Wells and many times before we have had a much more varied menu. All we were offered on Saturday were salads if we did’nt want heavy options. Before there were dishes like eggs benedict and brunch dishes which we enjoyed very much. I hope they return them to the menu!
Food was okay and service was very slow. I wouldn't make a special trip to there., but if I was in the area, would potentially try it.
Very enjoyable meal, excellent venue when attending a performance at Sadler’s Wells. Staff very friendly and helpfully aware that you need to be in the Theatre by 7:30.
We always come to Niche before visits to Sadlers Wells Nowhere else compares. Thank you as always.
Excellent choice for those who are celiac or gluten sensitive. Niche offers choices that are somewhat hard to find in gluten free form elsewhere.
I have eaten here with friends on different occasions and each time has been really good.
