The food was really great (but expensive), and that is the main perk! The ambience is OK, but too noisy for my taste with loud music. The service was average -- food took too long to arrive, the waiter (although quite friendly and welcoming) attempted to clear the plates off the table way too soon on multiple occasions, multiple requests to turn the music down (we were seating right under the speakers) were accommodated for just a short time and then the music would be turned back up. All in all, a good restaurant, but for the price the service and ambience could be improved.

Great ambiance, music and decor. Staff all have great vibes. Most of the food is amazing - pricey but unique, flavorful food. A few things on the menu miss the mark (Chilean sea bass, tuna roll) but overall always a great experience.

First time at this restaurant. Was chosen by a friend who we were supposed to go out with. Friends canceled last min due to unfortunate circumstance and I went with my wife anyway. Our waitress Jill helped us choose from the menu. She really guided us perfectly. Was most delicious and interesting food and drinks. Beautiful decor , plates were laid out incredibly with all the food being delectable Desert was something I’ve never had in my life. Jill checked up on us regularly to make sure we we’re happy. Service and food was way beyond our expectations. Thank you so much. Much success

In my opinion, this is the best fine dining kosher restaurant in LA. On par with Tierra Sur. The ingredients are diverse and high quality. The flavors are creative and playful. They don't use lame shortcuts to create pareve sauces or desserts - everything creamy is nut, coconut, or tahini based. The service is topnotch and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Do kosher restaurant prices always hurt? Yes. That's a reality. But at Next Door I'm not troubled by it, because the food is exceptional.

This was our first time there. The restaurant was recommitted by several people. All I have to say is WOW to every dish we had there. Super interesting combinations of flavors, beautiful presentation and impeccable service. Highly recommend trying their sushi dishes, green salad, jerusalem bagel, rib eye, chilean seabass , and wow on the desserts!

Sushi Monday at Next Door! Been meaning to check this out for a while and it did not disappoint. Started with a very refreshing peanut and cucumber salad. I always say anyone can throw a steak on the grill, but when you can take simple ingredients like peanuts and cucumbers, and turn them into an exciting dish, you're really doing something right. Mint, cilantro, and Thai basil all tied together with a layered ponzu - peanut sauce. The fried eggplant starter was unlike anything I've had before. This was really an eggplant steak, served with a tamarind miso sauce and some chili to give it a slight kick. Once again just taking an eggplant and turning it into something special. On to the actual sushi. Nigiri was truly melt in your mouth. We had the hamachi, seared salmon, and albacore. All sublime! For the rolls we went really unique with the Dos Locos which was hamachi with kohlrabi for crunch, and crispy pickled beets, and topped with a lemon albacore tartare type thing. Not your pedestrian spicy tuna roll. Talking about not your pedestrian roll you’ve got to try the Fomo. Mushrooms and asparagus standing in for your usual avocado and cucumber, with beef tartare inside, and beef carpaccio outside, with sesame oil and chipotle aioli tying it together. Wow. If you haven't had this then Fomo indeed! Finally we had to get the Japanese Buns. Spectacular! These were specially made mini buns stuffed with deep flavored shredded teriyaki short ribs. So good! We ended the meal with their famous Malabi. You gotta get it!

Last night was my fiancé and I’s first time coming to Next Door. Let me tell you, it was the best experience I have ever had. The energy, food, and service was beyond expectation. Thursday nights are really something to see. I can’t wait to keep coming back over and over.

Their whole Branzino is one of the best I’ve ever had. Not impressed by the drinks. Expect $18-$19 drinks to be better. Did not care for the chocolate praline. Our server was outstanding.

We had no idea what to expect, but Next Door exceeded all possible expectations. The GM, Miri, answered all of our questions about Israeli cuisine, and each dish was better than the one before. 10/10! The new standard for Kosher cuisine in Los Angeles! The food was delicious on all levels. Savory and flavorful. I'm drooling as I write this review... The plating of food, thoughtful and mouthwatering. The drinks, wow that bar knows how to make drinks. I appreciate the attention to detail, something lacking in the LA kosher scene. Everything from the plates and cups to the overall general ambiance of the restaurant was thought out with care and experience. The staff, are kind and caring. Constantly checking in with you and making sure you had everything you need (something lacking from the "other" restaurants. Service in other places make you feel like they're doing YOU a favor. Glad a good team created what is now called Nextdoor. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience overall. And last thing, yes the price is high, but what good restaurant isn't. I'll gladly spend it at a place where I get my moneys worth on all levels. The other kosher restaurants are not that far off and lack on almost all my points listed above. Nextdoor, if you're reading this, can't wait for what's "next"! (see what I did there ;)
