A Louisiana tradition! Chicken & sausage smothered with Cajun spices and rice
A medley of fresh garden veggies smothered with Cajun spices and rice
Great food. Very nice woman that eventually helped us but no one helped us when we first sat down
Sitting outside was beautiful, waiter was friendly, but the service was appalling. 2 people’s meals came out 30 min later than the other 7. Some food was ok, the shrimp and grits was a watery mess. Getting drinks took forever, too. It is clearly a tourist spot where they are not concerned about repeat business. Great location, mediocre food, terrible service.
I have been to this restaurant in the past - normally food food as medeocore at best. We sat in the courtyard, I ordered the seafood gumbo. I have had better, roux was burnt. I asked the waitress for some bread for my gumbo; was told the kitchen was out that she needed to get from the oyster bar. I NEVER got my bread. We order unsweet tea, was told they were out - This was totally confusing - NO UNSWEET TEA in NEW ORLEANS. All this transpired aroung 4 in the afternoon. There were two groups of tourists, they were told about gumbo and the history of the French Quarter. They ate what was brought to them - obviously they did not know any better. I won't be back any time soon!!!
Great experience and the food was hot a tasty.
I appreciated their enforcement of the vaccination policy and found the hostess friendly. Our server was extremely friendly. Although she was the only server working the patio and inside the restaurant, she was extremely attentive. However, I didn't enjoy my meal. Since we sent our oysters back, I didn't want to send my shrimp and grits back too. My husband enjoyed the catfish and jambalaya. The stuffed mushrooms had more breading than crabmeat.
Excellent meal! I had the blackened redfish, cooked perfectly, not too hot or too salty which sometimes happens with blackening. I was sorry there was no music.
While the entres were average, the Oysters Rockefeller were superb. I have to mention that the entire staff was the very best, especially our server Cory...warm. friendly, personable and professional. Cory made it a very enjoyable dining experience.
Let me give you a preview; the martini was warmer than our food!
This place is terrible. Do not go here. They are out of most things and the servers are overwhelmed.
We sat down no problem as the restaurant was mostly empty inside. We were a party of 7.
I ordered an Abita Amber. Waiter: “I’m sorry we are out of all beer”. How is this possible in the French Quarter. Next door bars have lots of beer!
The person next to me ordered a Diet Coke. Waitress: “I’m sorry we don’t have any diet drinks. Is Pepsi okay?” Sure that’s fine I guess.
Appetizers are ordered. Waitress returns 5 minutes later: “I’m sorry were are out of Oysters Rockefeller. Is raw okay?”
We should have walked out right then & there! Warning it does not get better.
Long story short, I ordered a martini it arrived luke warm! The soda arrived with no ice & hurricanes had 3-4 cubes floating in drink. Clearly they were low or about to be out of ice. To make matters worse half way through meal the waiter knocks over my martini when clearing appetizer plates and never returns to ask for refills for entire table. Only 1 drink for each of us for entire meal and no replacement of spilled drink!
Other servers delivered food which was cold / barely warm. The étouffée tasted like someone spilled salt in the batch! No one to be found to compliant or order refills from!
0 out of 5 isn’t possible so they are getting 1 star and have lost a customer for life.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!
Had reservations, they acted like they were not sure if I had a table??? Got seated, waited 15mins before A server finally asked if we had been waited on and chose to pick up our table that wasn’t hers. She was doing all she could but our food was barely warm when we got it, would have been decent if wasn’t nearly cold. Also, do not call yourself a “creole cookery” if you aren’t going to even use creole. My creole pasta was very bland and had less flavor than anything I have ever eaten in New Orleans. I also ordered a Mojito that came to my table half way through my meal that had been sitting for some time since it had only two small pieces of ice left by the time it was brought to my table. To top off an overpriced meal, While waiting for our check, I witnessed a server sit at a table with a “customer” and exchange money and small baggie as they sat right next to me! The gentleman never ordered anything and only came for the exchange and left. Needless to say, I will not be back to the NewOrleans Creole Cookery.
Service was very slow even though it was not busy. 3 of the 5 entrees came out like warm. Not worth the money.
This is a quaint restaurant conveniently located close to Jackson Square and the French Quarter. The food was not bad, limited selections and the big issue is NO BEER. Said it was due to IDA, but CVS and Walgreens a few blocks away had beer. Cute courtyard and overall good. Waitress was very attentive.
Food and service was fantastic. Whitney was our waitress. Took great care of us.
Generic tourist spot. With so many special options in NOLA, keep looking.
I was excited to visit the restaurant as the pictures and reviews were amazing. I had great service but the food unfortunately was not good. I’m a big foodie and was dissatisfied with the quality of the food. I ordered jambalaya and it was cold and unseasoned. The bang bang shrimp was just okay. I really had high hopes for this restaurant, especially coming to New Orleans- a city known for its good food. The service was outstanding but the food definitely needs more work.
The waitress was very friendly professional and had knowledge of menu food and drinks I would definitely visit here and tell friends about it
Love there duck
Everyone was really nice. The food was not at all good...The fried calamari was good
Overall the food was decent. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Although, the general cleanliness of the entire bar room was subpar at best. I didn’t realize until I got up from my seat to leave that I had crumbs and other remnants on my pants from where I had been sitting. Also, the menus were dirty and could not read part of the cocktail menu due to the fact that the pages were stuck together from food and drink spills.
Our waiter Corey, was outstanding and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend!
Shrimp overcooked and rubbery. Crab cakes were pure mush. The waiter never asked if we wanted a drink or if we liked the food. We clearly did not as he took almost all of if back. Sad.
The food here is absolutely amazing. Excellent flavor and quality. We had Chris as our server...he was great, polite helpful, offered great recommdations and took good care of us. Will come here again.
It was closed! I made reservations and paid to park. Only to get to the restaurant with chains on the door.
Food terrible. Cold and unseasoned. Drinks weak. Server was nice though.
Great service food & ambience!! I am soo glad we made time to visit!!
Fried catfish over jambalaya was awesome. Shrimp boil dinner was awesome. Service was slow as death. 20 mins until drink order was taken. 80 mins for food to arrive. Thank god food was delicious, or I would have screamed. By the way, it was not a busy night. Early seating and dining room half full. Highly recommend for food and hoping they fix the service.
server was horrible i will not be going back
Went here for lunch. A/C was blasting and felt really good. Service was fantastic. Got the house Bloody Mary, gumbo, Bourbon Street Combo, and the key lime pie. Everything tasted delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal.
We came to this place based on a friend’s recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was amazing with each dish having its own unique but wonderful flavors. There was a lot of plate sharing going on at our table
Some standouts where the duck and seafood pasta trio but they were all good
The bananas fosters pudding is also amazing
A huge shout out to our waitress Trenika who never wrote anything down and get everything right for a party of six. She was spot on in both her service and personality and it a huge asset to the restaurant.
Well done and thank you for a great time.
New Orleans Creole Cookery was recommended to us by my granddaughter and i'm glad she did. My wife had the new york strip steak and she said it was good and juicy. I had the seafood tower. When I got it I thought I was in heaven. Our waiter was wonderful, the atmosphere was great. It seems as if everyone in the place was enjoying themselves also. I would recommend you to anyone.
Sat at the bar
Allen was Amazing! Such a good spirit, made our time there on our anniversary! He gave us good recommendations of where to go and trust me, he knows the good spots! Ask for Allen when your your there, he makes the BEST oysters in New Orleans and has the best energy in the restaurant!!!!!
Drinks are Amazing and so is food!
5 star for sure!
Took 45 minutes to get a glass of wine. They said it was due to a confusion over which wine we wanted. There was only one resiling on the menu, don’t know how you can confuse that.
The food was absolutely amazing, must try the banana fosters bread pudding
The server was not properly trained, she placed my order even after I said to wait until my daughter figure out what she wants. My food came before my drink and it wasn't even good. The server ordered the wrong drink for my daughter and the manager refused to remove it from our bill. It was just a bad experience all around!
The food was bomb!! But there was no crab for the crab cakes. And the soda selection was near none. But the service made up for it.
Came here for the Banana Foster. Enjoyed the whole course! Creole was on point! Staff was very good as well!
Comida tradicional, buen sabor
Un poco de desorden en el servicio.
We went early on a Saturday afternoon and there were a lot of staff on duty. There were three orher tables of customers when we arrived. Apparently, we were wearing our cloak of invisibility because no one came to our table to bring water or anything. After sitting, ignored, for 15 minutes—as staff buzzed around us—we walked out and went somewhere else.
This was by far the worst experience we have ever received at a restaurant. It was so disappointing. The server was beyond awful and the manager was useless. Food came out cold and drinks showed up after meal when ordered at same time as meal. When complained about food being cold manager said well I’m sorry the kitchen is now closed but I can heat it a little. Still came out awful. Drinks were watered down mess. Don’t waste your time and money on this one. Worst $250 spent…
Great quick service and amazing food. Highly recommend the creole pasta and shrimp and grits!
