Quite disappointing really. The portions are small especially the main course. My lamb dish has two small chops and a loin which is all fat.

Great service and interesting menu options. Very tasty food that is reasonably priced for central London and just off Oxford Street. Second time at this restaurant and will certainly become a favourite for meeting friends after work.

I was slightly nervous about this, simple because I love Anglo (Mark Jarvis' first place) so much! It's actually quite a different sort of restaurant and I'm happy to say that it really didn't disappoint. The short menu is deceptively simple, but each dish was much more than a sum of its parts. Well judged touches of "modent"creativity which didn't overpower, but enhanced, the excellent quality of the seasonal produce. We especially enjoyed the quality Maldon oysters, the Hackney lamb "chorizo" and the beef tartare with mushroom ketchup and king oyster mushrooms ( I'm very partial to beef tartare but this broubt it too another level!) Excellent cod and pot roast chicken too. Service was attentive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I have no idea why such an excellent, well priced restaurant was only half full on a Saturday night - possibly something to do with the strange Oxford Street location? If you picked it up and dropped it in Dalson it would be packed to the rafters... (Please DON'T do this because it will be impossible to get a table and I want to come back!)

Lovely tasting food but I am not sure how the chef managed to serve such small portion sizes without being embarrassed - 1 serving spoon of risotto smeared across the bottom of a dish is not enough for a main meal! We all had bread, starters and a main meal and all went home planning to eat more food as we walked away as hungry as we were when we walked in 3 hours before.

The service and the quality of the food were really great. Portion sizes may be slightly smaller than average but non of us came away feeling hungry at all. The ambiance surprised us given the location, it was nice and relaxed and by no means pretentious. This is a restaurant I would very highly recommend!

Really nice evening. All the courses were very good and had a twist, but in a positive way. The chef clearly understands about favour, coming up with combinations that really work rather than being merely fashionable.
