Visited for the first time . Everything was perfect from the time we walked in til the time we departed . Very cozy warm feeling . The service food and beverages were all Great . We will be going back . And yes they make there on Pasta !
Our first trip to Mulino was very nice. The food and service far exceeded expectations. It did become a little crowded around our table towards the end of the meal, as a party waited to get into their private room for roughly 10 minutes. Other than that, I highly recommend Mulino as a place to get excellent Italian food!
Celebrating with a girlfriend. Lovely atmosphere. Delicious pasta. Outstanding service
It was a wonderful experience with fantastic service. The food was the perfect temperature and tasted amazing. We will return again soon.
Had a great meal here with a large party of 14 for my daughter's 16th birthday. Great service and food, wonderful atmosphere. We'll be back!
Birthday dinner for my daughter
Delicious and authentic style Italian food! We had a table of 4 (2 eggplant ravioli, lasagna, and carbonara). All dishes were so good event the bread and oil! The eggplant ravioli was surprisingly tasty, and I don't even like eggplant! Atmosphere is great too. The tent is unique, different, and heated. Rave reviews all around!
Excellent food, especially the branzino with roasted vegetables. Best outdoor restaurant ambiance in Raleigh hands down.
Staff was very friendly and insightful
Love the food, atmosphere and service so much we will drive 30 minutes to get here.
It was in a word, likely the best Italian I have had in Raleigh (or anywhere) in quite some time. It was obvious from the knowledge of the waiter down to the last detail of the very authentic cuisine that they are in it for the long haul. It was excellent all the way around and the wine pairings were fantastic(a glass a 'little pricey')
Everything was great!
First time I have ever taken the time to do a review but I must share as I was so impressed with everything we experienced from the moment we arrived. I wanted a special restaurant to help rekindle our relationship and we could not have asked for a better placThe appetizers were amazing. Had the calamari and octopus. Yes, two appetizers and I recommend both! Followed up with a pasta dish gnocchi and the filet special with mash and asparagus. Drinks were outstanding including wine selection. Waiter made the night with his knowledge and personality of not being overwhelming
I recommend nightly including earring inside where it has more atmosphere.
Amazing service, good food, perfect spot for an anniversary dinner
Food and service were amazing! Such a cute spot and can’t wait to go back.
The food was absolutely outstanding and I left very satisfied and full! I have no complaints about the service, it was very nice. Dining outside was also very nice. It was freezing outside but the area was closed in and heated very well, it was a great temperature.
I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our server was excellent. He was very attentive to us and answered any questions we had. The food was delicious! The only downside were the chairs. There were two types of chairs inside. Ours were more like patio chairs and a little small on the sides. I would highly recommend this place! I can't wait to go back in warmer weather to experience the patio area.
The only reason I did not give a 5 star review is service based. Our waitress barely smiled, my boyfriend is one to crack jokes and have a good time. However, the energy was never matched by our server. She very clearly did not want to be there. The food, ambiance and drinks were incredible! The manager, Hasan, was a joy when he stopped by our table. We will definitely be back!
Great date night.
Lovely service, amazing pasta and desserts. Great atmosphere
Service and food was excellent.
Let me start by saying that the food was very good. I had the zuppa di pesce and my wife had the salmon special. Both dishes were excellent. I should note though that my dish was very spicy and there was no indication of that on the menu. We also got the octopus appetizer which was also very good but very spicy, and again, that wasn't indicated on the menu. I don't mind that but some people might.
Our real problem was with the operation. First there is a big disconnect between the website and what we experienced in the restaurant. On the web they say that on Friday and Saturday there is free valet parking--not the case. We pulled up in front and there was no one around. Also, to our disappointment, there were significant differences between the web-published menu and the actual menu. When we asked about it we were told that the website was out of date--not acceptable. It's not that hard to update a website to reflect menu changes.
In house, we ordered a bottle of wine that they showed on their wine menu--a wine that I really like. After waiting quite a while we were told that they didn't have it. I ended up ordering a glass of a different wine, there was no other wine that we wanted a whole bottle of--at least not in our price range. When my glass of wine arrived it was clearly under poured. Maybe there was 3 ounces int he glass ($11 a glass BTW.) I should note though that they did bring me a full pour (5 ozs) and ended up comping the glass. I appreciated that. Lastly, when our bill was brought to the table it included a bottle of wine--another mistake. Finally, wines are very expensive--Red glasses are $11 and up bottles $35 and up. Most Italian restaurants offer a house wind--maybe a Montepulciano--that is more affordable.
The pasta meal I got was very salty.
I was hoping to be able to get the chicken meal and swap out the potatoes for pasta, but they couldn’t do that
You walk in and the atmosphere is amazing. Service was great, our server was very genuine and helpful. Food is also excellent. Serving size is small for the price but the quality is great.
Always love Mulino, the food is very authentic. Music is always good, though sometimes a little on loud side, though this night, was just right!
I went to Mulino with my family for my birthday dinner and made reservations for six people on Saturday night. We didn't have to wait, but parking was a bit of a pain. The hostess wasn't super friendly - she actually seemed a bit annoyed at us - but we were able to sit on one of the fun benches outside near the pool.
Our server was very sweet and attentive, though. She offered recommendations, answered questions and was knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant as well as the food.
We split a delicious bottle of wine for the table from the extensive wine list, but the cocktails were also tempting. Between the six of us, we split the bruschetta and arancini for an appetizer. The bruschetta received mixed reviews, but everyone LOVED the arancini. I probably could have eaten just that for dinner and been perfectly happy. My father and sister both ordered the lamb and loved it - my sister even had some left to take home. My mother ordered the special risotto - this one with mushrooms and burrata - and it was to die for. Everyone at the table tried it and loved it. I ordered the bolognese, which was good, but I probably wouldn't order again. My boyfriend ordered the carbonara and it was authentic and delicious - he essentially liked his dish clean. My sister's boyfriend ordered the zuppa di pesce and he seemed to really enjoy it. After dinner, we ordered vermouth (they were out of limoncello) and cappuccinos. Those who ordered vermouth weren't super pleased with it as it was a bit too sweet and tasted like cough syrup after a while, but the cappuccinos were delicious.
The main reasons for not receiving five stars was because there was a loud machine drilling something in the parking lot and you often caught whiffs of sewage. I realize this was probably not their "fault" and I can't imagine they had it there on purpose, obviously, but it definitely hindered the experience.
Overall, though, I would definitely recommend Mulino and will be back!
We waited 10 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order. The bus boy felt so bad for us that he took our drink order and said he didn’t know who our waiter was. He ended up taking our food order also. No one checked in on us or refilled our drinks. Horrible management and service, except for the wonderful gentleman who actually helped us.
The food was good. Ambiance was really cool outside but our server sucked. Really ruined the entire experience.
We celebrated my son’s birthday T Mulino’s. None of us had been here before, so we were going out on a limb trying someplace new. It did not disappoint. The server was knowledgeable and on point. The bruschetta and fritto misto were above average. The lobster ravioli was good, and the carbonara erybody was fine. I ordered the zuppa de pesce which was one of the best dishes I’ve had. I’m recommending Mulino’s to all my friends.
Lousy service. Great food!
Fantastic every time!
Disappointed and angry. Showed up on time for a reservation made a month in advance and was told they did not have a table inside for us, although there were unoccupied tables set for 4 (which we were), several 4 empty high tops at the bar and several tables set for large groups. There was a lovely 4 top awaiting "The Mayor" who did not show up until over an hour later and many tables outside where it was cold and raining. We were told they had heaters, but EVERYONE was wearing their jacket and we were coming for the ambiance, not for a cold, damp expensive dinner! The hostess suggested we have a drink and wait at the (very crowded-standing room only) bar for an inside 4-top to open up and a few minutes later came in and offered us one of the high tops at the bar (why didn't she offer this to us in the first place?). Once seated, our waitress came over, took our drink orders and told us about the specials WITHOUT telling us the price of any of them. Our friend ordered a rum and Diet Coke and ended up with a plain Diet Coke in a tall glass. We had to send it back and watched the waitress taste it to make sure there was not rum in it! I wanted a glass of white wine but after being there for 5 minutes I realized my $11 glass of wine was going to be a 5 oz pour MAX, so I asked the waitress if she could cork a bottle for me to bring home after I've had the amount I wanted (2 glasses) and she said "sure". SHE DID NOT TELL ME THERE WAS A $25 CORK FEE! The bottle of wine was $39.00 (retails at $18) plus the $25 cork fee - so my $18 bottle of wine was $64! We then decided to have tiramisu for dessert and my husband asked for a cup of decaf coffee and this "Italian" restaurant WAS OUT OF DECAF COFFEE! Seriously? MAKE ANOTHER DAMNED POT! AND QUICK!
Our bill for a shared salad, 2 personal pizzas, a bottle of wine and 1 dessert was $126 before the tip, $145 with the tip!!! I WILL NEVER GO TO MULINO AGAIN. Totally ridiculous!!!
The staff was on point. Food was fresh and delicious. Ambiance was fun, relaxing with an edge of posh.
We thoroughly enjoyed our special occasion dinner there. The service and food were top notch. We'll be back!
To sum up my experience in one word it would be DISAPPOINTED
I was a little disappointed. When I made the reservation, I said that it was my girls birthday and if we could get a table with a view or something special , if possible. When we got there, I gave the hostess my name and she proceeded to seat us. I told her that it was a special occasion, a birthday, and she replied , oh thats nice, happy birthday. I felt like it did not even matter that I requested something special, if possible. It would have been nice if we were greeted with, Hi Mr. and Mrs. Whidden, right this way, we have a special table for you.... thats all.
Everything else was fantastic, no complaints...
We had an awesome meal and our server was so great!! Would recommend Mulino’s food and ambiance- we will be back!!!
Pasta was excellent, salmon was a bit overdone.
We were in Raleigh for business and always love to find good Italian food. We picked Mulino and were very pleasantly surprised.
The setting is magnificent - I have been to Italy twice and this mimics those settings amazingly. I took a self guided tour of the restaurant and they did a great job of converting the factory into a restaurant space. The ceilings in some rooms were very cool.
The staff was great, the waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was very good and wines were fairly priced and a great selection. I will return when I am in Raleigh again. Great spot.
The restaurant acoustic was causing people to almost scream as it got louder by the minute.
In all fairness, there was a large party near by which made it difficult for everyone to raise their voice just to converse.
