   Sadly - we come here a few X/ year but tonight - with an older couple looking forward to their first, Mr L did not deliver the same level we have had. The veg wellington: these were not 'al dente' - one of us was the food editor for a wine mag/ another owned a catering company - we know the diff: raw, crunchy veg in a mediocre crust. The steaks were fine by 2 guests' standards. The sides were fine (normal mac & cheese with fusili that dried out after 10 min and 1 cup of glorified mashed with less then a teaspoon "shallot jam" garni on top...) After mentioning the veg wellington undercooked - no concession. (They did ask at the time of mention if replacement desired, but - no - why replace mediocrity with more calories of same?) Salads over-dressed/ soupy, limp. Parker rolls +butter? great. Carrot cake, nothing to write home about. So - staff nice, multi-associate attentive - but bill includes 2+% kitchen staff surcharge without notice. Final signed folio was picked up by server prior to departure... (hmmm - a basic no-no of fine dining). Drinks were top tier price but not anything memorable (except for the mezcal special cocktail which husband LOVED but forgot name of.) Free scoops of ice cream for bday boys (not gelato - ice-chippy option). 1979 Carrot Cake roulade felt frozen but defrosted - (gummy) - so, not above-average food overall, but met the pricepoint's minimum for service & quality -- so there's that. Great ambience. 'Meh' rest. We'll come back, unfort other couple prob won't. O well. Thx!

   This was our last night in Palm Springs and we wanted a really special sort of “Old Hollywood” steakhouse experience. Well, Mr. Lyons was exactly that and then some! Great ambiance, perfect cozy booths, speakeasy style dimly lit, incredible cocktails and the most delicious steak we’ve ever had. My mom and I split everything and it was perfect for the two of us without needing to take tons of leftovers back to the condo. A cosmo, a vodka martini, split the Caesar salad, the bone-in ribeye, potato mousseline and crispy Brussels sprouts. We finished our meal with the mint ice cream sundae. Everything was absolutely perfect and our server was wonderful. He was so attentive and helped us make all the right choices. Do not miss this classic gem with modern twists. Will absolutely come back next time we’re in Palm Springs.

   Service was great. Ambiance in conservatory was dark and a bit loud, but reservation in salon are tough to get unless done so far in advance. Drinks are outrageously priced. Onion rings and Caesar salad were tasty. Steak Frites was FANTASTIC!!! Steak was tender and juicy and the red chimichirri sauce packed a bit of a punch. The fries were phenomenal. Prime NY steak was fatty, grisly and had a tendon/ligament going through it making it extremely difficult to cut and inedible. Waiter offered to get something else but I had already eaten 1/2 of steak frites and plenty of the crispy Brussels sprouts (very tasty) and ginger carrots (hard and crunchy) so he took it off the bill. The frozen lemon meringue tart for dessert was awesome. Next time: 2 Steak Frites!!!

   Service was inattentive and at times forgetful. My friend called ahead of time to send me a drink and the whole process was a hassle and no one knew what was going on. It ended up causing 20 min of confusion where no one at the table received any drinks. We will not be back.

   After seeing Mr Lyons on Eaters top 10 list, we were shocked at the how terrible the food was. When we asked the manager about it, he said there is an uprising in the kitchen and they’re going through menu changes. I would avoid this place until the sort that out. Very disappointed.

   While we have been at Mr. Lyons for other events, this was only our second time for dinner there after having had a fantastic experience the first time around. We wanted to share that same experience with our family member visiting from out of town. Well, this was not it. While we could say that we were given time to enjoy every moment of our meal, after a while, we began to understand that our servers had forgotten about us. Items were missed and not delivered. Not once did anyone check on us. And we had to ask for things to move along. Needless to say, we didn’t feel cared for but forgotten. When you are paying so much for a meal, not only do you want the food to be good but you’d expect the service would be on point. It was a sad experience and we hope it can be repaired before our next visit.

   Although the water came immediately and the runner said our server would be "right with us," it took over 20 minutes for our drink order to even be taken. This was on a Tuesday night, so perhaps their best staff were not available, but since it also wasn't crowded, this was quite off-putting. Fortunately, most of the rest of the meal was pretty good, although my companion wanted his steak more on the medium side, but it came much more on the rare side, so he couldn't eat a lot of it. The frites, however, were excellent, as were the beignets (dessert) which had a delightful, homemade quality to them. The wedge salad, shrimp cocktail and veggie wellington were also quite good. I'd be willing to go back--but wouldn't rush to do so.

    From the moment we walked into Mr, Lyons, we were greeted with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that instantly made us feel welcome. The ambiance was both elegant and comfortable, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The service was exceptional throughout the evening Mo was attentive without being intrusive. Our server Mo was knowledgeable, offered great recommendations, and ensured every detail was taken care of with genuine care. 10 out of 10.
